I don't think it could be the Uchiha son of the Sage of Six Paths since he didn't have the Sharingan, it was still a spiral eye thing. Plus, the Uchihas didn't have an expanded lifetime like the Senju, he would have needed another way to stay alive. Perhaps he is indeed older than most, in that case it might make sense that he continuously passed down the Rinnegan to a follower in order for them to revive him over and over again in order to gain immortality. However, he has shown some Uzumaki traits with his sealing ability, since the Uchiha use a genjutsu to control them and not seals like the Senju half. On the other hand, perhaps it was just gained by training. But he's famous, enough that he has to hide his face since Kisame and Kisame immediately recognized him. It is also likely that he has some kind of Senju abilities seeing as his arm was made of a material similar to Zetsu, who was made or enhanced with Mokuton.

Also, there are so far three options of how he obtained the Rinnegan:
1. He took them from the Sage of Six Paths and used the previously mentioned procedure for immortality to keep them.
2. He was a Senju/Uchiha who transplanted DNA/eyes from a Senju/Uchiha. Possible turn of events would be a Senju or Uzumaki took Madara's eyes, though this is unlikely because both of them would have otherwise turned into a Rinnegan. He could have taken the Rinnegan from someone else who had obtained it with this method.
3. He was born with it somehow, possibly Senju+Uchiha descent, though this is the least likely.

Maybe but the fact is there is so little information to work on. It's all speculation and theory. I know we all want to know who he is but we have to wait till Kabuto stops having his gay back story. evil

He bleeds tree-sap, I doubt Hashirama bleed tree sap. Also Hashirama was the only Senjuu with the Mokuton, anyway, the rest never mastered it, so I am doubtful another would, without his D.N.A. directly.

That would explain his hatred of Senju

New theory: He's the Senju Ancestor, not the Uchiha. I haven't given thought to how or why, but it would explain how he's not Madara and the few people who have seen his face, such as Kisame, would think he's Madara since the brother's must have had some family resemblance that passed down or something. It would at least explain his vitality, being able to live so long. Mito Uzumaki lived from before the founding of leaf and beyond, so the original source of this vitality might as well be eternally young(maybe). It might explain how he made Zetsu, since he was assumingly made with a type of Mokuton. His haircut is also pretty similar to the Senju ancestor's when he was wearing that orange mask and was wearing a headband as well, which the Uchiha one didn't. Far-fetched, but still.
