I cannot let it go any further. But wouldn't he wonder where we are for so long? If we do it today for too long he would suspect something and wonder where I am. Maybe we should do it another day. ) She didn't think he would invite her over but thought he would continue to talk about it in the market then let it go.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier)  Heimbrecht nodded, “Ja, natürlich. Wir müssen nichts tun, was als unpassend angesehen werden könnten.“ (Yes of course. We must not do anything that could be seen as inappropriate.) Of course his mind was racing with dozens of innappropriate thoughts, and fantasies but he kept them to himself, at least for now. Perhaps after a few drinks, the pair would open up, become a bit more free with what they were thinking, but Heidi was right, they couldn’t do it today it would be too suspicious, „Was ist morgen? Ich kenne Herrn Eichmann hat ein Treffen von elf bis ein Uhr nachmittags.“ (What about tomorrow? I know Mr. Eichmann has a meeting from eleven until one in the afternoon.) His eyes fell on her, meeting hers as the pair started to head back tot he car passing a group of street performing children. Heimbrecht wasn’t sure what would become of them if anything, but he knew that they had to find out one way or another.

German Mob-Secret Underboss Heidi had to think for a moment. She was hoping if they did meet it didn't get out of control. "Ja, ich denke morgen wäre eine bessere Idee. Ich habe nur zu kommen mit etwas, das ich tue, damit ich ihm etwas zu sagen haben. Erwartet er Sie überall sein. Ich würde einen Plan zu denken. Er bekommt sehr eifersüchtig nicht nur von mir, sondern von euch auch. Ich habe es gesehen, wenn er wütend wird, wenn Sie führen Sie ihn." (Yes, I think tomorrow would be a better idea. I just have to come up with something that I am doing so I have something to tell him. Does he expect you to be anywhere. I would think of a plan too. He gets very jealous not only of me but of you guys too. I have seen it when he gets angry if you out perform him.) She said this and waited for his reply as she gazed at him.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht nodded in agreement as they reached the car, every look at her was filled with that adoration that had never ceased in him, no matter the distance between them or what had become of their relatonship, “Ich will nur sagen, dass ich mache ein paar Informationsbeschaffung. Mit dem, was Herr Eichmann geplant müssen wir alle Informationen, die wir bekommen können. Er wird erfreut zu sehen, mir gewidmet wie immer werden.“ (I will just say that I'm doing some intelligence gathering. With what Mr. Eichmann has planned we will need all the information we can get. He'll be pleased to see me dedicated as always.) He closed the door and smiled warmly at her through the window as he moved around to the driver’s side and got in. His mind began to think of all the things he would want to say to her the next day, he would be laying it all out on the line and he feared that she wouldn’t feel the same, that he would be left alone, and passed over for the other man again. It was something he didn’t want to happen, but this tension had to end.

German Mob-Secret Underboss Heidi smiled at them with glowing eyes that had the same look that had been upon her face as they fell in love as teenagers. As she glanced at him he seemed uncomfortable and she did not know why. "Das ist ein ausgezeichneter Plan. Ich werde sagen, dass ich den Besuch einer Freundin, die ich nicht gesehen habe ein paar Wochen. Wenn sie weiß, ich bin auf den Komfort von jemandem zu Hause pflegt er von mir erwarten, eine Eskorte haben oder Sorgen ... Sie schien beunruhigt. Haben Sie Ihre Meinung geändert?" (That is an excellent plan. I will say I am visiting a friend I haven't seen a few weeks. If she knows I am at the comfort of someone's house he wont expect me to have a escort or worry...You seemed troubled. Have you changed your mind?) She said worrying about him and hoping he was okay.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht smiled warmly at her as they drove out of China-town, "Nein ich bin in Ordnung. Ich dachte nur das ist alles." (No i'm fine. I was just thinking) His eyes shifted from the road to her for a moment sparkling with the love and affection that he'd always felt towards her. Even as his eyes had soaked up the horrors of the Great War, with all it's death and dismemberment, Heimbrecht still kept that love for her tucked away in a place where no death could touch it, "Es gibt einfach so viel ich sagen will." (There's just so much I want to say) He kept driving, knowing that what he had to say would have to wait until tomorrow.

German Mob-Secret Underboss "Nun einen guten Schlaf und einige Überlegungen heute geben Ihnen die Möglichkeit, Ihre Gedanken zusammen zu bekommen, mich auch." (Well a good nights sleep and some reflection today will give you the chance to get your thoughts together, me as well.) She said. She was well aware that the combat veterans didn't sleep well but she was trying to say with having a break from one another allowed them the chance to collect their thoughts and everything they had been longing to say.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht nodded in agreement with her, "Ja, und es wird dazu beitragen, dass Emotionen nicht ganz so hoch." ( Yes, and it will help that emotions won't be quite as high) He smiled warmly at her as they drove across the river and out of the Chinese territory. He knew that she was right, that a night to collect their thoughts would be best, but that didn't make him feel any better. Right now he was running on pure emotion, his love and desire for her dictating everything he was thinking, but he knew that he should wait, and think about exactly what he wanted to say to her. He only got one chance at this.. he wanted to make the most of it.

A month has passed i the windy city of Chicago. It is now early April Spring may be here but there is still a n** in the evening air. It leaves you raw much like the long held tension of the uneasy truce between the gangs. The only question now is who will strike first and where?
