He felt the claws drag upon his legs, on his flank and the soft underside of his belly. Faster, he thought. faster!
But he felt the fatigue in his body, he felt it spread and he could urge himself to run no farther.

The claws did not know fatigue.

They stretched out, raking against his flanks, trailing red in their wake. He forced himself to run but
he could not outrun the claws, and they scratched at his chin. It dragged itself in a long sweep from his nose to
his neck, to his belly. The long claw trailed red blood in it's wake and soon the darkness closed in on him.
