Runs at Dawn

Feckless, reckless, and determined to remain carefree, she is likely to 'forget' any responsibilities left to her to pursue light-hearted activities that seem to have no purpose to others. Fun is important before all else, with physical vanity being a close second; Runs at Dawn is a fantastic guest at any social gathering, able to keep guests upbeat and interested merely with her presence. But it would be unwise to rely on her for anything but her ability to have a good time.

Losing Spring

A melancholy fellow by nature, he prefers to see the darker side in all things, even if he has to stretch a little to find a downside to a situation. At times his obsession with the brief transient nature of life can feel a little ridiculous; for all his bright colors he is a dreary person to be around. He is fascinated by death, dying, and things that are already dead, by preference making his home in the roots of or nearby dead trees that do not grow back even in the springtime.

(The season for which he is named, in fact, largely depresses him and he does not enjoy it -- the only thrill he gets is loudly pontificating on the true meaning of his name, and informing everyone of the inevitability of their own deaths.)

Light Landing

In Light Landing's naming dream, an enormous butterfly landed ever-so-gently on his head, and then on takeoff shed its beautiful colors, transferring them to his own hide. Although Light Landing is a gregarious, cheerful buck, he seems to have some trouble maintaining or strengthening personal relationships, instead touching lightly on the lives of those around him before moving on. He is happiest in the spring, and often moves to whatever section of swamp he considers to be warmest for that particular season, never staying too long in one place.

Unsettled

Never still, never content, there is something slightly off about him -- and, once you have met him you are left with only his namesake.

Unsettled is more than a little awkward: prone to making morbid jokes and to seeing the darker side in life, conversations with him very often fall flat as the other party stares at him, aghast. He doesn't seem to understand the difference between appropriate conversation and inappropriate remarks, and genuinely has a hard time understanding why others tend to be skittish around him. He really would like to be friends with people, but the intimate interactions he witnesses taking place among others seem to take place in a language he doesn't understand. As such, he often sits on the very edge of a group of others, watching almost mournfully as he tries to puzzle out how to get himself to be part of their group without frightening everyone away.

Drowned Reflection

In his naming dream, Reflection dreamed that he was a much brighter colored young buck, a brilliant blue with only a few accents of charcoal grey. But he fell into a deep body of water, and no matter how he struggled he could not reach the surface. In the dream he remembers sinking farther and farther down, never hitting the bottom, until he instead somehow -- well -- came out the other side. He washed up on another shore, and when he climbed out of the water, his hide had changed colors.

Reflection was oddly affected by his naming dream, and as he grew older it became clear that he continued to obsess over the meaning of it. He halfway believes that he was meant to be another person -- a brighter, more hopeful personality. But the water of his dream washed his hope and lightness of heart away, leaving a more somber, more cautious personality behind. In truth he is not depressed, merely practical and quieter than some of his peers, preferring intellectual pursuits over physical ones.

Rose

Gentle, quiet, and loving, she has a surprisingly determined streak running through her. When something or someone takes her fancy, she will do almost anything to obtain it and will accept no compromises. What is hers must be wholly and completely hers.
