Shift 1, Roll 1

"Sheesh...I was just thinking to fall back and regroup, we don't exactly know what we've gotten into here." Sharra grumbled, not sure why Mmur had such an objection to the idea, "Not asking you to turn tail and shirt duty or anything..." leaning over to pick up a sword, trying to keep his movements quick and fluid, he caught another movement at the corner of his eye. Slashing out at the nearest human with his newly obtained blade, their blows parried for a moment, and then the other warrior lashed out, opening a line of crimson across the minotaur's shoulder. Jack that had hurt!

A Satyr, a Siren, a Harpy...so far they had been the only ones to circle up, band together. Eisheth seemed to have some idea of what she was doing, and so the Minotaur was quick to follow her lead.

Names were being tossed about in all this chaos? Gripping the hilt of his pilfered weapon tighter, he nodded to the siren. "Th' name's Sharra. And yeah, I think we can safely say that none of us have a bloody clue about what's going on. I certainly don't remember taking a swan dive into a battle of this scale, that's for sure."

Shift 1, Roll 2

Sharra would just like to say that this entire fiasco would have been much easier, had he been able to summon up some of his actual powers. He'd instinctively tried to reach out for the thrum of FEAR that was always circulating around them in Halloween, and had found that it was almost as though it had been walled off. A terrifying thought, considering current predicament. Growling, he stabbed another human through the chest, putting a boot on their tunic in order to shove them off of the absolutely shoddy sword that he'd picked up.

That was about the time that he narrowly avoided getting stabbed in the back, the blow cutting across his side instead, causing the minotaur to stumble....not that he wasn't back an instant later with an adrenaline-fueled thrust for his attacker. Right in the eyeball. Rising to his feet, he kicked the offending soldier with one hoof. "And stay down..." He muttered, still moderately unnerved by the timbre of his own voice.

Shift 1, Roll 3

Fantastic.

Now that the three of them were standing together, perhaps they could hold their own for a while, and as long as they kept moving, they were less obvious targets. Trying to keep his movements up to an easily maintainable jog, Sharra attempted to keep his eye on his allies, shielding their blind spots...a task that was not so easy at times, as they were being assailed from all sides. Embedding the point of his blade in a man's jugular was somehow both sickening and satisfying in the heat of battle, the minotaur currently too dizzy with adrenaline and a distinct inability to think about anything save the moment at hand.

He didn't have the faintest idea what might happen if they died out here. "Goodness, but dying out here sure would suck." It was murmured with a particularly disgusted tone, rife with pseudo-optimism. "None of you have any award-winning ideas as to how we're surviving this do you?" They were surrounded, and thus far the most leadership-capable one was seemingly the harpy. He wasn't counting on Mmur to have any, really. The fellow had seemed all too pleased to just launch himself into battle.

Gods, but it must be nice to have such an uncomplicated outlook.

Shift 2, roll 1

They were clearly outnumbered, yet the hope wasn't lost; Eisheth figured they managed to finish the light infantry right in time. Now their main opponents were.. knights?.. she wasn't entirely sure there were knights in this particular era, but it would be safe to call those soldiers cavalry. Oh how she desired to be herself, the Horseman of Famine now! She would have shown those puny maggots WHAT IS HORSEBACK RIDING, BB!

Alas, she was a Harpy, and Harpies were not particularly strong against mounted spearmen...

Shift 2, roll 2

Eisheth quickly figured her attempts to attack the riders from the above would be futile: their long spears would easily tear her wings apart. At the same time, attacking from the ground was no less mediocre: horses were strong and powerful, and their hooves were as dangerous, as their riders.

The result was predictable.

Eisheth heard a loud war cry, and then smt lightly pushed her in the back. She felt no pain, strangely; her eyes gazing at the sparkling flash of the human's sword.

She cried, addressing her fellow monsters: "Retreat! Everybody, retreat! Save yourself!", and then she realized she had lost her voice. She could not cry anymore. The last thing she noticed was a strange figure in a distance, smb looking very much like a Horseman, a knight on the winged mount, who was leading humans?... Perhaps, it was just a hallucination of her dying mind.

If she only was herself here... If she actually were here, when this battle took place in reality...

Shift 2, Roll 1

Mmur took a sharp breath as the harpy was struck down. She seemed to dissipate, yet her disappearance didn't feel natural. Not that dissipation ever really did, but... there was still something wrong about it. The horseman knew this had to be a trance, but there was still a very small part of him that worried this all might be permanent. Who had she been? Was she truly gone? The only way he was going to find out was if he won this fight, or at least that was the conclusion he came to while swinging wildly at another anonymous human, this one on a horse. Mmur might have just been hit in the head one too many times.

Shift 2, Roll 2

There were more of them, too many to fight, and for a brief moment Mmur took the harpy's advice, even though he hadn't actually heard it. He ducked between two rearing horses, slicing one across its foreleg on the way past. The animal fell on its rider, and the man's scream was music to Mmur's ears.

Shift 2, Roll 3

Another man's horse stumbled over the one he had struck, and Mmur watched as the human flew through the air in slow motion.

He didn't notice the rider that galloped up behind him.

He didn't feel the pike as it slid between his shoulder blades.

He couldn't fail to notice it, however, when it burst through his sternum.

The horseman didn't even have time to gasp before he was gone.
