Smoke has spent much of her life being as hard to grasp as the wisps she's named for. Spending her day drifting through the trees in her search of one thing or another, she doesn't participate or socialize as much as some other kimeti, preferring her solitude to think in than companionship. Erring on the side of caution, she prefers to watch others from afar than directly interact or influence the turn of events. She's very smart for her lack of interaction, but lacks the essentials to blend in well with society. Awkward might fit her well as a description, though it doesn't capture her in her true element. The few kimeti she has met, she remembers fondly.

Heed often dreamt of the insects who marked his untimely demise in his naming dream. When he was younger, they often haunted his every waking moment, consistently reminding him of his inevitable mortality. But time has a way of changing all things, including kimeti, and in his age, he has found wisdom by living through the eyes of his daughter, Glow in the Frost. They travel together, passing the time in each other's company as he guides his daughter on her trek to learn everything of the swamp. He has a penchance for speaking in an intelligent and light manner, very much a gentleman. But like his daughter, his curiousity gets the best of him, even now, and sometimes his eloquence is cast aside in pursuit of knowledge.

No Rest doesn't feel the effects of others' troubles on her. She has no empathy, worrying generally for her own cause as a means to an end. She is contemplative and as scientifically curious as a kimeti can be, which tends to lead to her pushing buttons and going in a direction that could bring her harm in a dangerous setting. She's honest with other kimeti to a point of being impolitely blunt, but when it comes to herself, her history, and her past, she is more likely to lie than tell the truth. And the story will change, often repeatedly, even to the same kimeti. She can be caught in a lie, and it won't stop her from lying again. It's just her way. Since the birth of her children, No Rest has begun to settle slightly in one general area, but even then has a tendency to wander, explore, and get into far more trouble than should be necessary.

Under the Open Sky was born in the plains of the kiokote, into his family's herd. It was only when stories came to him of the swamp that he realized there was adventure to behold. He left the plains with his father's permission, old enough to venture on his own and begin his own herd, with his brother. On their travels, they were separated. Alone and in an unfamiliar place, the kiokote strove to learn his way through the swamp. In spite of being in the swamp for a long while, he's still a long way from home, and lonely without his brother. He plays this off with a confident, charming swagger for the lay-dees, and he tries to stay optimistic that he'll find his kin, but... His optimism wanes, and his confidence falters.

There is still so much in the world Glow has yet to see, living beneath her father's watchful eye. In spite of this, she has experienced some of what life in the swamp offers, and can navigate quite quickly through the muck and mudpatches. She is a frightfully stubborn child, something Heed attributes to her mother (seeing no stubbornness in himself), and will happily argue her opinion whether it's warranted or not. She is naive and idealistic, seeing the world through the green-tinted view her father shares with her, but has little experience without him, leaving her dependant and capable of worry when she is too far from Heed's side. Part of her longs to travel, but a stronger part demands she stay with her father.

Star is so young to be on her own, but if asked, that's how it's always been. A not-so-rare occurrence, Star is an acha born of the swamp. Though she dreams of dry land and grainy ground beneath her hooves, the swamp is all she's ever known. She is excitable and childish, constantly in motion and bouncing. During the majority of the time, Star can't seem to focus on adult conversations, easily distracted and often running off mid-sentence if something catches her eye. Her mischievous, childish nature often leads her into trouble with playing tricks on people. She can, if she tries, be stealthy and blend in with the shadows of the swamp. Usually, however, she just doesn't have the attention span for it.

Relic is an old soul, hunting for answers across the world of Matope. Born in the desert as most Acha are, he traveled with a group to the swamp in search of treasures and relics of the past. That's what he does; he seeks out the past, giving truth to stories and hope to the one that they too will one day leave their mark on the past of their world. He has little patience for younglings, though, preferring his collection of rocks and treasures. He's been in the swamp some time, long enough to set up his own little collective library of treasures and special things. He is aided (well, hindered, most of the time) by a familiar crawfish, who wandered into his library and refuses to leave, but that is the only living thing he continually speaks with. He's far too stubborn to deal with the masses and their questions.

Three Words... Solemn, protective, wary.

Restless Ember grew up protective, the eldest in No Rest's first clutch. With no father figure as far as he's grown up, Blaze grew with the life goal of protecting his brother and mother, spurned on by the naming dream he had as a babe. Every step he takes is thought through thoroughly for the benefit of the Clan, consisting on himself, his brother, and his mother. He is the type to develop relationships with other kimeti who have something to offer, but he's not naive, and his patience stretches only so far. If he thinks he's being played for a fool, he will not hesitate to run the 'meti off and return home to his family.
Behind this guise of the protector... Blaze is needy. He is terrified of being alone, of dying alone. So he surrounds himself with family, and he strives so hard to cling to them so they don't leave him to die alone. He will get over this, and he'll be better for it. But right now, as young as he is, he clings to his family like he needs them to breathe.
