[PRP] The Meaning of Christmas

Dove continued to play with the children and Lovey, glancing over her shoulder every so often, wondering if and when her companions would return. Though she wasn't entirely uncomfortable around people she didn't know, she still felt out of place surrounded by the seemingly impoverished.

Even still, they all looked so happy given their condition, and the cheerful cries of joy and applause they offered as Lovey performed trick after trick brought a smile to her face. Though the entertainment was far from high-brow, she felt herself warmed by their excitement; though she had spent many a Christmas warm and happy with her loved one, she had certainly never experienced this kind of holiday fun before. In a few ways, it was much more gratifying, though she would never admit it aloud.

Curious Tymiko followed Yuri without another thought. She crept around to the back and was close at his heels when they entered the room housing toys and clothes. She reached down to pick up a pokedoll, only to feel something plopped on her head. The water trainer blinked and felt the object, trying to tell what it was.

"An elf?" she repeated, taking off the cap. Her face brightened. "Ohhh, a holiday elf!" She laughed and held up the pokedoll in her hand. "Where did you get all this stuff? And how did you think this up?" Ty cast him a suspicious smirk. "...Are we going to do what I think we're going to do?"

"Now you've got the idea," Yuri said with a boyish grin. "And if what you're thinking is that we're giving toys to the kids, then yeah."

With that, the man pulled out a red and white suit and started to slip it on. And once he's gotten the hat on, Yuri looked... absolutely nothing like Santa Clause. Unless Santa was skinny, had long black hair, and no beard.

Yeah, he'd purposely not gotten a beard. He'd tried one of those on and it was hot, stuffy, and itchy. No beard. Nope.

"So, then, what are you? 'King of the Elves'?" she jeered at him, laughing. "A Santa Imposter, maybe? Oh, I know! Mrs. Santa Claus!"

As she teased, the girl stepped into some warm, festive-colored holiday costume garments, completing the look of her elf hat. For once didn't mind the layers which helped to keep out the cold. She just hoped she wouldn't have to run around in the costume for too long lest she overheat or get itchy.

Gathering up as many of the toys as she could, she stuff them in an empty burlap sack she found in one corner and tossed another to Yuri. "Let's do this!"

Yuri smirked good naturedly at Tymiko's teasing. "Hey, c'mon, it's not that bad is it?" Why did everyone liken him to a girl anyway. He thought it was pretty obvious he was a guy. Oh well

Catching the sack, the man began stuff it with the toys as well. Once that was done, he put the bag over his shoulder and went for the door that would lead into the room where everyone was at.

Dove and all those in there would hear some bumping though as Yuri tried to get it open. "The hell... it's stuck." Eventually he just gave up and used his foot to kick it open. The door burst open and now several people were staring at them. To which Yuri just raised his hand, "Hey, there. Ho ho ho!"

Lovey and Dove, now distracted from their array of tricks for the children around them, paused and looked up toward the crashing sound of the door, then laughed as the children around them cheered.

Opening her arms to the eevee--who happily leapt into them-- Dove stood again, nodding happily to the little girls that had begun to tug on her sweater and point to Santa, just in case she hadn't seen already. After urging the children around her to go see Santa and his elf, she stood back, watching fondly as the tiny group of tots ran toward the clean shaven Saint and his partner.

Lovey looked to her trainer, then bumped her nose to the girl's chin. See? Wasn't this just as good as being home and spending christmas with her mate?

Reaching out to grasp a hank of Yuri's dark hair, the girl gave a firm, playful tug on it before shaking her head. "Santa doesn't use that kind of language, Elf King! Watch that mouth of yours!" she whispered urgently.

When he burst in, Ty slapped a palm to her forehead. Yuri made a horrible...whatever he was trying to be. Still, she couldn't rid herself of the smile that had fixed itself onto her face.

"The Holiday Toy-Brinngers are here," she announced, not even bothering to try keeping up Yuri's silly facade. No one would have mistaken the round-faced, long-haired, effeminate young man for Old Saint Nicholas anyway. He would have been more believable as a high elf of a forest.

Tip-toeing to reach the sack that Yuri held aloft, the water trainer tugged it lower so she could get to the opening and disperse its contents to the eager folks who crowded around. Even if she wasn't so good about having to share people, Ty wasn't stingy about sharing joy, and Yuri had given them the perfect opportunity to do so in the warmth of the season. She was grateful to him for that.
