In the Fire Country resides a behemoth of a creation that could not have possibly been made by human hands, this beast is referred to as Aegis, the Citadel of Gods. The fortress itself moves very slowly, but the moving alone is impressive enough. At this moment the method of Aegis' movement is unknown. The outside walls are encased in a strange crystal formation that cannot be destroyed by any type of physical force, and guards are normally posted all throughout Aegis, making it nearly impossible to break in to. Were one to press their ears against the crystal they would almost hear it breathing. It should be noted that the outside of the fortress is completely impregnable, but once inside It is not such much a matter of destruction, but getting around that ends up becoming an issue. While the fortress is not built like a maze it is easy to get lost without some form of map, the only respite anybody would have is seeing that Aegis only has four floors, but attempting to go through any of the floors is no picnic...only a fool would infiltrate Aegis.

The forces that guard the moving citadel are no joke either, there is a reason it is called the Citadel of Gods. At any given time a seemingly infinite number of guards is seen posted inside of Aegis, guarding every corridor with their life. Further, because of the slow movement of Aegis guards are also posted outside of Aegis as well. The seemingly endless amount of guards is a testament to the occupation capacity of Aegis, and as "gods" each guard is a heavily trained individual that can easily fell opponents without the backing of their partners. Truly, it seems only a god may be able to destroy a god and destroy the shield they've built for themselves.

҂xxxxUp in the sky, Xen and Kageko hovered, a safe distance from Aegis. While they were up there, the man summoned his second chain and took a seat on it, pulling Kageko over to it as well. "As I said before...my stealth capabilities are...questionable at best. Because of that, I think I should stay outside and run distraction. Don't worry; I'll make plenty of fuss to draw out most of the guards. When they exit the fortress, you'll use the same doorway to enter it. Normally...this would seem impractical and impossible. But I've prepared for the possibility of stealth already." It was then that the seals on the chain they were previously riding began to glow; there were nine of them in total, all pressed to the top of the chain in alternating order. "Allow me to demonstrate what the seals do." Immediately, the chain coiled into a circle, forming the Battle array. The clone--which was lightly hissing at them--was immediately soundproofed and invisible as soon as the ends of the chain connected. "Using that as a sort of ring around you, you won't be seen or heard as long as you keep your entire person within the circle that the chain makes. My clone will be manipulating the chain from a distance, using the ninth seal to see where you're moving--where you need the chain to move."

After that long explanation, Xen simply sighed. "Well...it looks like we're faced against innumerable odds, either way. I just hope that your opponent doesn't cause too much...trouble." The man turned, and looked down at the small army surrounding Aegis. He was sure Kageko knew it too; the number of opponents he'd be fighting was seemingly unlimited. On top of that, the extent of their training was also unknown. His eyes shifted, the Three tomoe Sharingan taking shape within them. "It appears there's no point in screwing around." With one last look over at her, he grinned. "You ready?"xxxx

Kageko allowed herself to be pulled over to the new chain and then quietly listened to Xen's words. She watched Xen's demonstration curiously with a raised eyebrow, wondering what exactly he had in store that would allow her to sneak in through the front gate.

She did her best to not think about how Xen being the distraction meant that she would be entering the enemy's fortress by herself... How, basically, she'd be facing off their target by herself. Of course, she didn't think her job any harder than Xen's (if anything, she was amazed at how calm he seemed about facing against an endless number of powerful soldiers), but she also thought of Xen as on a much higher level of skill than she.

She nodded at the end of the medic's explanation and demonstration, impressed. He had clearly thought this all out quite thoroughly, to the point that he made this job easy even for Kageko. That is, assuming that the enemies didn't have sensitive smelling and that her target's vital points were predictable. Xen had already done an excellent job, and the fighting hadn't even started. Kageko could only hope that she'd be able to not put all of her partner's efforts to waste.

However, as Xen clearly stated, now wasn't the time for misgivings. Kaminari, too, obviously thought the same as she communicated, {I don't approve of this, but I'd rather you not die.}

Kageko placed a hand over her eyepatch to make sure it was on nice and tight as she nodded quietly to Xen's grin, lips firmly pressed together in concentration. There was a last check of the equipment and belongings she brought with her. Her muscles relaxed and her breathing steadied as she went through this familiar process. She didn't feel ready, but she accepted that it was now or never.

҂xxxxXen began to lean over the edge of the chain, extending his palms to both sides. "Remember...when you reach the target, give the seal on the front of the chain a thumbs up. The clone will ready itself to assist you in the fight. Good luck." With that, Xen fell. At this point, they were above the enemy force. After descending for a short period of time, two large plumes of smoke would erupt from his palms, forming two of the large doves Kageko had seen before. They flew slightly above Xen as they descended further, allowing him ample room to unhook the special pouch he'd been storing on his left side. On the front was a single seal, and he threw it after he focused his chakra into it.

Meanwhile, the clone had already circled Kageko with the chain. At this point, the chain--as well as her--were completely invisible and soundproofed. She would understand soon; there were specially fashioned slots on the sides for her to put her forearms into to keep her in place during the flight; the clone needed the other chain to stay in the air. Once it lifted her off the first chain, she entered free-fall as well until she reached a level of about thirty feet from the ground. It was there that she'd wait for the distraction to begin.

And begin it would. After making sure Kageko was out of range, the sealed package would explode outward into what seemed a cloud of explosive tags. The massive birds above him flapped their wings, letting loose hundreds of thousands of razor sharp feathers, as well as fierce propelling winds. In a flurried maelstrom of death, the explosive tags and feathers would descend upon the enemy army. The feathers--as they came down from Dragon-sized doves--were about as large as swords, and just as sharp. As soon as they were within range, the Jounin formed a single seal. After that, there was only one word that could be attributed to the sight before them.

Another nod was the reply to Xen's last words before he descended to his fight. Even as the chains circled around her, she resisted the urge to watch them move and instead focused on Xen's movements as well as the enemy's reaction to his entrance.

It was Kaminari that pointed out the arm slots, and without taking her eyes of the battle, she fit her forearms into the slots with what the angel could see with her peripheral vision. She felt herself lifted into free-fall, a sensation that slightly surprised her (she had been about to just step off on her own), but one that she didn't resist.

She waited in the air at about thirty feet as she was expected to, increasing the size of and manipulating Renzoku to create a platform for herself to stand on. Of course, she made sure that the her chain remained within Xen's chains and remained sensitive to Xen's chains so she wasn't completely oblivious to any movements he'd want her to make. She didn't doubt that Xen's chains could probably hold her up just as well as her own; after all, both she and Xen had travelled here on his chains. She just felt stabler like this. Besides, she felt that she'd eventually need her chain expanded to default size to accomplish her assassination. Their only real advantage while minimized were as a surprise defense/counter and she hoped she could get her target before he could retaliate.

Eyes intently watched what happened below her. At least, what they could see past the giant doves that Xen had summoned. Although, in the end, it didn't really matter whether or not Kageko bothered to get an idea of the enemy's traits by watching what Xen did. Xen apparently had decided that a vision-obscuring explosion was the best way to start a distraction. Kageko couldn't really argue with that.

Yeah, Xen probably would have everything under control on his end. Meanwhile, Kageko wasn't even sure what she could do at the moment, if there were any preparations she could make. Heck, she wasn't even sure what the best way to initiate the assassination attempt would be once she reached the target. Likely something with her newly awakened Mangekyou. Should she start with that, though, or go with a full-body (but slower) attack with Renzoku first and then lead into a Mangekyou-enhanced strike? She had ideas, she just didn't know which was best.

Since she couldn't see anything through the cloud of explosions, she started by getting a feel for just how much space she had within the chains to move (as well how much space she had to worry about keeping enemies out of).

Description : Causes the Key to grow. Keys can become, with this technique, as large as their default size, a size that changes so as to fit the user perfectly as his/her body changes. Larger Keys are not as fast as when they are smaller and so are unable to penetrate as deeply, but they do have a wider attack area to make up for the lack of speed and have a larger amount of sheer power. Chakra is only needed to cause the Key to change size.

Chaos, that was the word, but it wasn't strong enough. An attack out of nowhere? Who would be foolish enough to attack Aegis. A few deaths and injuries followed for those that were not prepared to defend themselves. And then...there were the feathers and explosive tags. Although stunned for a few seconds, the soldiers of Aegis corrected themselves just as quickly as Xen's attack had come. They had to fall back to a defensive position, otherwise they were just ants ready to be stepped on here. Handsigns were strung, and defenses upon defenses were built...they were mostly suiton and doton jutsus as something had to take the impact of the explosion. Some shinobi fell back in to Aegis, but the rest stayed on the outside of the massive structure. They could easily defend themselves from below due to hwo high in the air Xen was; he made it impossible for them to strike each other. The most prominent jutsu was shown when Aegis stopped moving...a mountain broke up from the ground and blocked Aegis' path, the stopped movement was the perfect chance to infiltrate Aegis...there was an obvious lack of resistance(because Valentine refused to post anything longer than this for the moment) from the cockiness of the enemy force, but(when Valentine got some sleep, or Kageko went inside of Aegis) it appeared as though the enemy would show the true strength of their fortress! Xen would see the enemy already gathering aroudn the field; each one making him their target since he seemed to be the only one here.

"Squad one, continue the assault. Two, three, and four will remain within Aegis for duration of the attack! Do not falter!" A voice echoed out, bolstering the soldier's resolve. It was obvious that this voice was coming from the commander of Aegis, even without knowing what he sounded like at first it was easy to tell due to him barking out orders to his soldiers from who knows where. The enemy awaited Kageko on the fourth floor of Aegis, and since climbing was virtually impossible, along with the top of Aegis being shelled...the only entrance was the front door from which soldiers continued to filter out of. The stream of soldiers didn't appear to be that difficult to pass. There were so many of them trying to get through the door at the same time they most likely wouldn't notice somebody bumping in to them...or they would notice and things could go wrong before Kageko even entered Aegis. It was more like the former result would reveal itself to the pale shinobi. A move had to be made, however, otherwise the door to Aegis would close and the chance would be lost.

(Excuse my lack of trying for now...I had somewhere to be and it just drained my will to actually try. I swear I'll give everything I have to kill you...tomorrow.)

҂xxxxWhen the opponents blocked his attack--for the most part--Xen grinned. This was perfect. They had built a wall between he and them, allowing him to operate with a temporary cover. For Kageko, the opportunity was there whenever she felt like taking it.

As Xen continued his free fall, he summoned two weapons to his hands. The first was a gigantic, rectangular club that sported the design of a thick, boxy sword. It was made entirely of black metal, thus it weighed over a ton. Fortunately, Xen was the only person who could use this weapon due to it's immense weight. However, he decided to take it one step further. Allowing the weapon to free-fall with him for a moment, he flew through hand seals. This was going to take a lot of chakra...but it would pay off in the end. After forming two Shadow Clones--that sat upon the doves--Xen formed one final seal before gripping his blade, enhancing it with his metal chakra, and preparing himself. With the dense object, he smashed through the defenses, and swung at the ground with such power--using not only his own strength and the weight of the weapon, but his velocity as well as his chakra-empowered attributes--that it created a gigantic shockwave around him, knocking back any foes within a thirty foot radius with incredible force, and shattering the defenses above him. However...this wasn't the worst part. While he'd descended, his technique had formed. Around him were no less than five hundred blades, each formed from Black Metal. "Banshou Tsuranuku Kokkui No Enkan. (Ring of Black Stakes Piercing All creation)." Was all he said before it began.

Between himself and the two clones, all five hundred blades were in motion. Slicing, stabbing, blocking, flying...every movement imaginable. From a bird's eye view, all that could be seen was simply blood and death. With another flap of their wings, the doves showered down hundreds of thousands of their razor sharp, sword-like feathers as well, putting into effect an ultimate, bloody deathzone. If there were any time to get into that base, it would be now. Now, when the enemy was coated in the blood of their friends; a bump or two most certainly wouldn't matter at this point when she tried to enter.

There was--however--one final kink to this equation. Xen's eyes were...different. No matter where his opponent tried to strike from, he seemed to know. As though he could detect, perceive, and react to them easily from all angles. If one were to look closely, they'd see his Mangekyou Sharingan had activated. At this point, an area of about one hundred feet around him was a complete deathzone. Anyone--or anything--that got within this space would be shredded mercilessly from the feathers or the blades of Black metal. And if this failed...Xen still had 'him'.xxxx

Seeing her chance, Kageko did not waste it. She wrapped Renzoku around her body (arms, legs, torso, you get the idea), having decided that it would be the most compact way to carry the chain while also giving her more control over her movements in the air, and descended. Carefully, at first, to make sure that Xen's chain followed her. Then, slowly speeding up as she got used to movement in such a confined but mobile area. She gave Xen's assault a wide berth, not wanting to be caught in the middle of it herself.

Besides the attention needed to stay out of the attack, though, Kageko no longer paid much attention to what Xen was doing, or even what the enemies reaction to his attacks were. Rather, she was more focused on the immediate problem of going through the door. She calculated anywhere between two and four feet of space to squeeze herself through, and while she figured that a bit of bumping would be ignored, she would rather not take the chances in the first place. Assuming the worst (that the room/corridor beyond the door wasn't any taller), she would only have two to four feet of space to maneuver in for what could possibly be the entire infiltration.

She hovered right up to the entrance and paused for a moment, giving Xen's clone time to tighten his chains around Kageko if he so felt inclined (Kageko really hoped he did, even if the circumference of the winding chains were an inch or two smaller, that was an inch or two more space she had to maneuver with without having the chains hit the heads of the enemy). Rather than standing upright as she hovered for a moment, her head was facing down and jutting out over the edge of the door just enough to see the heads of the enemy approaching.

After the momentary pause finished, Kageko slipped in, rolling her body to the side so that her back was to the ceiling rather than her hands. She kept her hands up and away from the crowd as she carefully and quickly maneuvered through the biggest gap in the door. Even if she accidentally hit an enemy and attracted their curiosity, she would be gone before they could reach up a hand and investigate.

Heavy breathing came from Kageko's lips. The pain in her side felt horrible. It hurt to even try and look down at it. Although, judging from the wetness she felt below her fingertips, it seemed like the blow had not only broken something but also ripped her skin open. Two attacks. That was all it had taken to kill. An initial attack with a Renzoku transformed into a hundred blades to test out his weak points. Then, using a minimized Yin that had gone behind the target during the chaos Renzoku had cause as a point to Warp to, Kageko had struck the final blow with a default-sized Yang covered in chakra, complete with Mangekyou support (Resahata). Although, before she could strike, the opponent had also struck her with a heavy blow, probably a lucky panic attack. Kageko managed to finish her task even through that, but only in exchange for the heavy injury she now had.

She looked at her target as she tried to even her breathing, to control it as she had taught herself for the Stolen Salvation style. His head rolled about the ground besides him, completely still. Everything except the girl was still in this room. The castle no longer moved. She couldn't understand why but something... felt off. Not too off. Some part of her was telling her that everything was still alright (why a part of her needed to tell her that, she didn't know). Kaminari seemed bugged about something while also feeling relieved, but the angel remained silent to the girl's inquiries.

Soon, she couldn't feel the pain in her side anymore. She looked down with her one open eye and grimaced. The vest she wore as a shirt was bloody. It didn't look good at all. Although, that really was the only bad part of her appearance. She wasn't injured anywhere else and other than a blood-stained chain necklace around her neck (Renzoku) and her closed right eye (instead of the usual eye patch she had on), the only signs of a fight on her body was the wound she was putting pressure on.

Although, the room was another matter entirely. Along one wall, a multitude of holes were present, the result of a hundred swords piercing the wall. The only non-pierced section was the part that the target was standing in front of. On the already damaged wall plus the floor and the other walls, blood was splattered throughout the room. Although, with Kaminari's manipulation of what Kageko's mind perceived her eyes saw, the copious amounts of the crimson liquid did not send Kageko into a shocked mess.

Looking up, she finally began surveying the room that she had just fought in. There, on one of the walls, she saw images of the outside. Corpses littered the ground. Already, birds have begun moving in. Soon, beasts would follow. So much death. Although, the angel didn't seem the slightest bit bugged by it despite having been against killing just one person.
{Seriously, Kami, what's up?} Kageko asked as she tried to stand up, As always, she worried about others before herself.
The angel responded, but not to what the host wanted. Paralyzing the host's limbs with the influence she had been given over the body the two shared, the angel quietly advised, {You're in no state to walk. If he's alive, he'll come here. If he's dead, then so be it.}
{Blunt as always,} came Kageko's response as she submitted to the trusted angel's will that their body remain still, {but you didn't answer my question.}
Once again, no answer from the angel. It was an obvious but impenetrable tactic to hide information. However, at least this time she didn't slip away. She remained present to make sure that Kageko didn't strain herself.

Kageko could only wait in this room as she waited for Xen to come up.

҂xxxxNot very long after, the sound of ragged breathing would fill the halls of Aegis as Xen stumbled up to Durandarte's room. As Xen stepped into the room, the light thuds of his feet would give him away. When she turned to face him, she was likely to be horrified. He was completely soaked in blood from head to toe, and he looked exhausted. But there was something...off. Something strange. It wouldn't take long for her to notice; he didnt have a single injury. His clothes were torn from sword slashes in places, and his hair was a complete wreck, but other than that and the blood, he looked just as he would on any normal day. "Well...looks like you've finished the job. I'll fix you up, and we'll lug this b*****d back to the Leaf for further research." Xen walked over to her and hovered his hands over her wound. Within moments, an incredibly dense, incredibly powerful healing chakra would emerge in a sort of bubble underneath Xen's hands. In front of her very eyes, her seemingly grievous wound would turn from a serious infliction to just a minor scratch. After he finished healing her, Xen moved the chain that was originally hiding her and made it into a makeshift seat as he plopped down.

"Oof...that was quite a fight. To be honest, I didn't know if I was gonna live or not once they started bringing out the big guns." However, he floated himself over to the wall and punched it out, knocking out a rather large portion--enough for them to fit through--and beckoned for Kageko to get on the chain. The other chain of Black Metal would hoist Durandarte in the air; lifting him with Black Metal was rather simple. However, one look outside, and Kageko would see it. Thousands of bloodied corpses were on the ground below, pools of blood formed in between the mountains of bodies.

"Uhh...forget about my friends down there. We had a tea party." He simply chuckled lightly as he waited for Kageko to get on the chain. When they took off in time..she'd see that the mountains of bodies formed a complete ring around Aegis.xxxx

Xen looked... like a mass of blue in the shape of Xen with small smatterings of Xen's features. Blue was the color Kaminari had chosen for the red of blood to be filtered as in Kageko's brain. It was a simple mix-up, but it was enough for the girl to not fall into shock upon seeing blood.

No, what got her was the smell. There had been a lot of blood in the room before (what with the target's head being chopped off) but it hadn't been enough to create much of a stench. The copious amounts of the fluid on Xen's body, tied in with the length of time it had probably been on his body, did bring an overwhelming smell into the room. The boy was practically drenched in that stuff. He could have been swimming in it with how he looked now. Kageko found herself involuntary freeze the moment the smell of blood assailed her nose. If she hadn't already been looking at Xen (his footsteps and image was apparent before the scent of blood), Kageko's eyes would have been dragged towards the boy. All she saw was the blue, but with the smell...

Kaminari swiftly interfered. Manipulating Kageko's scent as well. To be exact, the angel simply deadened it, blocked the messages that the nerves in the nose sent to the brain and also got Kageko to begin breathing subtly through her mouth rather than nose. Even then, though, she couldn't help but feel herself tense as the blood-soaked Xen approached her to heal her. Her mind knew it was only to help her, but her body didn't take kindly to the approach of so much blood. Although, it did manage to relax when it felt the pain from the wound going away.

To distract her thoughts, Kageko took a careful look at Xen himself. He didn't seem to be injured in the least, which meant all that blood must have come from the enemy. It was amazing... in a scary way.

As Kageko followed after Xen, Kaminari gave the girl one strict warning, {Don't look down.}
Of course, Kageko looked down. It was such a trivial-sounding, almost funny order.

She immediately wished that she hadn't. Not even Kaminari's color-change of the blood helped. In a way, it even made it worse. The blue shade that the blood had taken on made the pools of blood look like pools of water. The comparison immediately had Kageko understand just how much had happened outside. The girl froze in mid-step, and this was right before she was about to get on the chain. If Kaminari hadn't taken over and controlled her host's body (without revealing herself of course) so that the freeze seemed like nothing more than a strangely-placed jerk, Kageko would have gone plummeting right into the pile of corpses below her. For her host, the angel also moved Kageko's head up to the sky and settled her into the chain. From there, Kageko felt fine. She just didn't need to look at the blood and corpse and she wouldn't feel strange. Really, that was the only way she could describe her reaction to the carnage. She didn't feel disgusted by it or even consider Xen a heartless b*****d for killing of so many. It definitely wasn't delight or anything positive either. She just... couldn't take the sight of so much blood even with Kaminari's help. For whatever reason, Kageko instinctively interpreted blood as something she needed to stay far away from.

҂xxxxXen paid no heed to her reactions; to be frank, he didn't take her as a person of strong stomach regardless. However, after the chains had hoisted Durandarte's body and head into the air, the two of them headed back to the Leaf Village.xxxx҂

(OOC: And laziness strikes once more. Just assume they're together until wherever Kageko is dropped off.)
