[FIN] Another Kind of Battle

She glanced up when he started talking, blinking once but nodding at his request, "Of course." she replied, leaning herself up more. "I'll be right here."

Rest for him was going to be very important right now. giving his arms one last squeeze, she slid her legs off of the bed, pulling herself back up to her feet so that she could lean over and pat his pillow.
"Here you go~"

Though faint, small, and drained, the smile he offered in response was sincere and grateful. He maneuvered to lie on the mattress, covered by one of the light sheets - he didn't hope to be asleep for too long given that it was still day. A mild dizziness resulting from the change in orientation plagued him, and it was accompanied by the slightly more significant apprehension of the dreams he knew would eventually visit. Keeping his gaze from Rosie, he uttered a quiet "thank you." Every moment that passed was a struggle to keep himself intact, and he wasn't sure how he would have fared without her presence.

A chaise was pulled up while he laid himself down, pulling it close enough so that she could sit by him.
Once she in the chair she looked back up at him, in time to hear the 'thank you'
from him.
She just smiled, reaching her arms up on the bed, and taking his hand again.

The room fell into silence, the blond in pink letting the calm linger in the room to let him sleep, with her chin on her arms, and her blue eyes just staring at the hand she held as she lost herself in her thoughts about what had just happened.

Gently he curled his fingers in her grasp, staring forward with a tired gaze that was simultaneously calm and inconsolable and eventually faded into quiet slumber.
