Tambrey had finally been released to go back to her room after her, comparatively short, stay in the infirmary.
She had crutches, painkillers to take and a cast on her lower leg, but despite the inconveniences and the aches and pains, she was feeling glad to be going 'home', as far as 'home' went on base anyway.

The grunt had been accosted on the way out, being given one too many pokéballs back than she'd been expecting.
Some confusion and paperwork being shown and signed and she'd accepted that, okay, she'd been assigned something new.
She'd been too distracted to read the forms properly and too eager to get out of the place and back here to hang around and ask about what it might be...

She could find out when she got to a training room tomorrow, or so she thought...

She'd barely entered the room when the ball wriggled and popped open quite suddenly.
Tambrey was surprised but not too worried beyond 'oh! frak!' until the light solidified into something nightmarish...

There, in the middle of the room she shared with Star was the terrifying, cheerfully delighted, form of a Rotom.

Eyes wide, and breathing suddenly rapid, Tambrey stepped backwards- well hobbled or shuffled really- until she could shut the door.
There was a Rotom lose in her room! Why was there a Rotom lose in her room?! Who... why...

She could hear it, in there, cheerfully chattering away to itself as it explored.
Why had they decided to punish her? Was it the Ditto? None of them could have known it wasn't a Mesprit!
She gasped and moved back further as the thing made a noise on the other side of the door.

As Tambrey entered the room, Star was hunched at his worktable, soldering wires and ignoring her completely. It wasn't until the loud pop of the poké ball opening that he pursed his lips and looked up. He was about to lecture his roomate on being disruptive while he was trying to concentrate, but taking in the scene in the middle of their quarters, Tambrey obviously hadn't summoned this thing on purpose.

Star quirked a large eyebrow at the unfamiliar Rotom, then eyed the alarmed Tambrey. "..perhaps you'd like to explain what just happened."

Across the room, perched on Star's headboard, Sky fluffed his feathers and tilted his head, watching the strange new pokémon cruising the room.

Tambrey peeked around the door at Star, eyeing the Rotom as she did, and shook her head.
"The... there's a.... 's a thing... in the room..." She supplied, helpfully, eyes returning to the Rotom, and then ducking around it again.

The Rotom, for its part, seemed absolutely delighted.
A big grin of an expression as it zipped about the place, investigating everything.

"RORO!" It greeted happily at the bird type then immediately moved on, catching sight of Star's work area and zipping toward it, and him, in excitement. What was all this?! Oooh, it looked fun!

"Mm.. and is there a reason you're-" Star gasped and flailed long gangly limbs as the pokémon approached his workstation, "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!" he employed that ear-splitting shriek of his.

Sky squinted and fluttered after the electric ghost, "Star!!"

"Stop hiding and recall it!" Star shouted, arms out, covering his precious mechanical babies as best they could, "Why did you send it out in the first place??"

"I didn't! It... uh... It's not even.. well I guess it is but... I DIDN'T SEND THAT THING OUT!" She peeked around the door, having dropped the pokéball on her way backward. "I... uh... I can't..."
She didn't see it and ducked away again as the Rotom sparked slightly.

The Rotom seemed unconcerned by Star's shouting and started to descend lower; could it possess any of these fun looking things? Maybe it could play with one!

"RO!" It answered the Starly happily, as it acted like a child examining toys on a shelf, trying to bob and peer around the lanky arms.
"RORO!"

"TAMBREY!" Star shouted after the hidden Rocket, "Get back in here and deal with this thing!!"

"STARLY STAR!!" Sky mimicked his master's shouting and tried to insert himself between the rotom and Star's table. These weren't toys and the ghost had no business touching them. "Star star!"

Now there was an ex-Galactic shouting at her and a terrifying electrical monster rampaging around the room. Tambrey's nice, relaxing, return to the room was not going well at all.

"I- I... I don't know THAT THING!" She called back, then had another peek around the door. "And... I don't know where the ball is!" She admitted as she again couldn't see it.

"RO? RORO!" The bird type wasn't making sense; anything that looked fun to play with was obviously for playing with! Besides, humans enjoyed pranks really! Otherwise why would they even do them on themselves? The funny Bisharp-man would surely enjoy the funny antics, no?
The Rotom bobbed up and down and from side to side, trying to pass the bird and spindly Rocket again.

"WELL FIND IT!!" Star gasped as the rotom inched closer and attempted to swat at it. He knew what the pokémon was and what it could do, but he hadn't dealt with the electric ghosts enough to know if they were tangible or not.

"RO RO RO!" The Rotom bellowed, as the spindly man tried to hit it! The ghost darted back. How dare he?! He wasn't the trainer, the Rotom knew that. Someone else had been given its funny little ball home... The one at the door, yes...
It communicated it's displeasure to the bird. It had, so far, seemed a little bit of a stick in the mud, but at least the Starly hadn't tried to hit it...
It crackled and glared at the man. Maybe a short sharp shock was in order... Teach this giraffe-man about sharing... Or maybe a Thunderwave; that would make things easier!
"RO RO!"

Tambrey shuddered and ducked around the door again.
"I'm trying!" She called, looking up and taking a deep breath before peering in again. Maybe it had rolled under the bed?
She wasn't exactly maneuverable on crutches though... The loudness of the electric ghost startled her and she had to try hard not to duck back around the door again.

When the swing missed and the ghost started crackling with electricity, Star's eyes widened. He yelped and recoiled, removing his arms from his belongings to protect himself instead.

Sky's eyes narrowed. Apparently the rotom had crossed the line in frightening his cowardly master. "STARLY!" He shouted, unleashing a wing attack at the electric ghost.

"RO ROTOM!"
The Rotom let loose the Thunderwave at whoever happened to be in front of it first; bird or roboticist.

The Wing Attack hadn't been expected and it blustered and mumbled as it hovered backward, shaking itself of the surprise.
That was rude! It decided and crackled again.

Tambrey found herself, perhaps for the first time, rooting against her own pokémon, though not exactly being helpful in its defeat just yet.
She'd taken a few deep breaths and entered the room, hoping that Star and Sky would keep it distracted for now, but flinching at the noises it made still.
Crutches and cast made it difficult, but she could only think the pokéball must have rolled beneath a bed.
