{PRP} What a cute pokemon. Does it need a checkup?

Settling into a new place was harder than she thought it would be. Originally Reoakee had come to Makko town to get a job and set up before she sent for Absinth. So far she had an apartment and something of a job helping at the local Pokémon center but that was all that she had done before her parents had sent Absinth to her. Her absol was now following along at her side scowling at anything that came to close to her. She had the weekend to herself so she was letting Abs stretch his feet and get used to the area. Sighing she scratched his head softly. “Calm down.” Maybe she shouldn’t have come by boat alone first, but she couldn’t stand the thought of the ship sinking and Abs being stuck or lost. She needed to get out of the town for a bit. Maybe this was a good chance to head out into the Cypress Forest and maybe if she was lucky spend the night in the Sandalwood Pokémon center by offering to work there before heading back to Makko town the next day. It was a fairly reasonable plan. Turning she headed back to the little apartment to prepare.

An hour later she was headed out and on her way to the forest. She had stocked up on the extra medical supplies and Pokémon treats she had made so that she could lure any wild hurt Pokémon to help them if she came across any. She even had a few extra bags for herbs and plant samples. Absinth was walking beside her seeming happier than he had been in the town. "Well well you seem more chipper." "Absool." "Yeah I thought so. You wanted to explore didn't you?" "sooool." "It's so cute you're embarrassed. Is that a blush?" Abs was now walking ahead of Ke determinedly not looking at her making Ke laugh. She had to be right either that or Absith was to excited about the new land to explore that he wasn't' listening to her, which may have been the case since all of Koto was new to them both. Either way as long as he was happy.

Inigo was infinitely grateful for the early shift he'd had, coupled with an entire day off tomorrow, because it meant he could take a trip out to Cypress forest to camp for the night. Before he left the base, he made sure to let his roommate, Alba, know where he was going and when he'd be back, then changed into casual clothes, packed his backpack, and flew out on his Pidgeot.

As per usual, he started out his trip with a hike around the forest with his Meganium, Leilan. It was a good two hours before the pair finally stopped to rest somewhere in the forest, and Inigo sighed contentedly as he pulled a water bottle from his bag and took a few sips of it. "Qué piensa usted, mi amor Leilani?" The Rocket asked as he glanced over at his Meganium, and she turned to face him with a happy croon. "Wanna camp here tonight, or keep going?"

"Niuuuuum!" The grass-type responded as she snaked her head around to nuzzle it into his shoulder, and he reached a hand up to pat it with a chuckle.

"Doesn't matter to you where, does it?" It didn't matter to him much either, really, as long as they were in the forest.

It was bit of a hike to the forest but she felt alive when the forest came into view. Absol was darting back and forth as if trying to get Ke to hurry up. Shaking her head she kept going at an unhurried pace. Abs was far too excited. It would be good for him to burn off some of that energy. When she got to the forest she started immediately looking over the flora carefully checking for any plants she could use for poultices. Her face slid into business mode automatically taking on a slight frown while she examined a few sprigs of mint to see if they were big enough to have some bits taken without damaging the plant. Ke was careful when it came to making sure not to damage the sources she harvested from.

She heard Abs rustling in the woods around her somewhere, but she couldn’t see him. “Be careful and don’t go too far.” She only herd silence which made her stop what she was doing and look up. Still in a half crouch she turned and didn’t see Absinth. Was he playing ambush again? He used to do that a lot when she was out with him in the past. He would see the other Pokémon and hide staying perfectly still until they got close enough to Ke then he would jump out and scare them off. She sighed having scolded him so many times that she thought he would stop those kinds of games. It was odd that the only kinds of games Abs seemed to play were ones that could be so wrong if he wasn’t careful. He always seemed to be but what if he scared off a hurt or sick pokemon looking for help? She looked around trying to spot him before whatever he saw got the shock of it's life.

Reoakee

Both Inigo and Leilani were completely oblivious to any subtle rustling nearby as the grunt replaced the cap onto his water bottle, then leaned forward to put it back in his bag. "We can stay here for a bit longer, or go hiking more," he suggested to the Meganium, despite knowing full well she wouldn't reply with words. "Whatever you wanna do."

In response, the Meganium laid her head on her knee and crooned, and he reached down to pet her head with a lop-sided grin and a chuckle. "Alright, we can stay here a while," he replied, not knowing about any Absols that might be lurking about. "It is pretty nice here, huh?"

"Niuumm!"

Claws slipping lightly into the top soil Absinth eyed the pair ready to pounce then the Pokémon put its head on the human’s leg and Abs decided not to pounce thinking how annoyed his human would be if he tackled a Pokémon that might not be well. Sighing he chose to end the training rather than continue to keep his skills sharp. Sighing he decided he had to investigate. Stepping out he called out loudly to the other pokemon. “Absol. Sol.”

Not able to see Abs Ke stood up and started to look for his tracks. She found his footprints and started to follow them diligently. How far had he gone? “Absinth?” She called out as she was climbing over a log. She tripped and landed catching herself with a knee and her palms. Hissing she stood up and tried to dust off.

Reoakee

The pair looked up at the unexpected sounds from the Absol, Leilani lifting her head from Inigo's knee in the process. At the sight of another pokemon though, she crooned an excited greeting and beamed at him. The Meganium asked, tilting her head a bit in concern.

The sudden voice calling for something reached Inigo's ears and caused the grunt to look around, his brow knitted. "Hello?" He called out, curious to know if wherever the voice came from was looking for this Absol. It didn't seem to be wild, for sure.

No one was sick? Well this was a waste of time. He shook his head no to her question. Hearing his human call he looked to the direction he knew her to be in. He shifted uncomfortably looking back at the strange human and Pokémon before twisting and darting off the way he had come.

Ke called out again when she was given a near miniature heart attack by a teal streak popping out of the bushes right next to her after she turned to find out who called hello. Swallowing her yelp she looked down at Abs surprised. She looked back to the source of the greeting and called back. “um Hello?” People out here? How strange.
