Well, new developer for guilds, Lanzer actually acknowledged that there might be something done by the end of the year... Hoping it's not the same old story.

There's a lot going on and you may regret coming back to Gaia. This place is like a cesspool now. It's all about Gaia Cash and those damned flash sales in the cash shop. Everything is about the cash shops, flash sales and the worst thing to ever hit Gaia- FLYNN'S BOOTY.

The new CEO and COO, are moneygrubbing, egotistical bastards that don't care a thing about the users, the site or anything except getting their hands on all of our hard-earned money. You won't be seeing any announcements or staff alerts about any site improvements, all you will see is an endless array of sales, flash sales and that goddamned Flynn's booty. The economy on Gaia is shot to Hell. I hope you have millions upon millions of gold in your account because if you don't you won't be buying anything on the marketplace anymore.

Guilds will NEVER get updated/upgraded. The head flunky of the administrators, also known as the head programmer and person actually in charge of Gaia- Narumi Misuhara- posted in his journal in September:

Whoa! been a while ride the past few months. XD Thought I'd give a project update to the projects I announced at the beginning of the year. You can see that entry here. This biggest change between then and now is that all projects going forward must earn their production cost. This is nothing new in the world of business but is new to Gaia. This does not mean you won't be able to do anything without gcash, it does mean that you should expect most projects to have some gcash element to them.

So, as you can see, Guilds are screwed.

Games- the first 2 pay to play one are already here!!! Smashblox and the new battle system. The Halloween event and the one before that- yup- had to use Gaia Cash is you wanted any chance of doing anything in them.

Most of us are giving Gaia - at the most- another year before it completely crashes and burns, provided the CEO doesn't hold true to his professional history and SELL GAIA first. He never stays anywhere more than 1-3 yrs before he sells the company.

Speaking of selling the company- the a--hole in charge is already working on an adult 18+ porn pay to play site for Gaia.

Oh and BEWARE people who go to the forums and complain/protest too much or too loudly are being banned with no notice by some overzealous mods and staff members. I should know- 2 of my accounts have already been banned for doing just that!!! This account NEVER posts in the forums. Once you are pegged a "troublemaker" the staff/mods go on a witch hunt for you and all mule accounts you have.

oh how the mighty has fallen.I was here for nearly the inception of this once great site and now I must withstand the decline and eventual death of a site I held most dear.I am nearly crying over this sad state of affairs

You aren't the only one. People are being banned with no warning and others are fleeing to other sites by the thousands each week. Syndroneonline and Soliaonline are two sites that I monitor from within. Their avatar systems are superior to anything Gaia has to offer or ever will I fear. And I am planning on keeping at least one mule account here until the bitter end. I want to see how Gary Schofield & JasonLoia destroy Derek Liu's dream child once and for all. Since Derek/Lanzer is the only remaining founding father left here at Gaia, I fear that when Gaia dies, a little bit of him will die too. It's hard to imagine that 2 men with MBA's have absolutely no User based customer service experience, can come into this site and in less than 10 months completely destroy it. That's what they have done. The users are all up in arms and only the very rich or fiscally irresponsible people are happy here.

Thank you. I've logged on a few times in the past year and have been ghosting threw forums and guilds trying to figure out what's going on. I had an idea brewing in the back of my head about it and now those thoughts have been proven correct and then some. I've been here almost since the very beginning. I even met Lanzer a long time ago at a convention, I think I still have the picture somewhere. I just can't believe what people have done to his idea. It just make me sad.
