After a few days of traveling through the woods, Yuri and Luke had finally reached their first stop, Sandalwood City. The only other city that Yuri had actually visited in Kodo outside of Camphoreon. So he at least knew how to get here. It would become more adventurous once they'd left this place, however. Fortunately though, he had thought to acquire a map of the island country before setting out.

With a bag slung over his shoulder and his other hand holding his sword, Yuri walked the vaguely familiar walkways of the city in the treetops. Repede trotted along at his side, pipe hanging from his mouth. The Growlithe also having been fitted with a leather harness that had been made especially for him by a friend. It had some pockets for storage so that the Pokemon could do his own share in carrying the weight of supplies. As well as a sleeve that held a dagger on his shoulder. Just in case.

As they walked an incline, Yuri eventually came to stop at a ledge that overlooked a good portion of the city. It was a great view, and really... the city itself was breathtaking. After taking a moment to admire the sight, he then turned to look behind him where he expected Luke to be.

"Hey, how you holdin' up?"

It had been quite a hike, and they'd roughed it outdoors in the woods for several days now. Even Yuri was looking forward to actually sleeping in a bed tonight.

Jerome knew cities. he knew cities very well, he knew buildings even better. buildings made of stone, and brick and concrete.
His own City, he knew how to get through the obstetrical with his eyes closed, it was WHAT he knew.

Trees however... presented a bit more of a challenge. One that he had become a bit more aware of after the last mission, that took place partly in a forest.
He wasn't entirely familiar with his skills on trees.
So, he decided to step out of his comfort zone, and try learning at a city that knew trees better then anyone.

"MotherFUC-" Whatever peace the boys might have been in would she shattered very suddenly as there came the sound of something heavy hitting the platform behind them.

Jerome has tried to to into a tumble to catch himself, but through the nature of his fall he had not been able to in time, ending up hitting the ground, and rolling into one of the sides.
A stream of swearing escaped the dark man, heavily tattooed body, shiftless with the wife beater tied around a belt look on his pants, one half oh his head draped with long dreadlocks.
Unaware of anyone else around, the man started to pick himself up, one leg stiff, as a voice chuckled from up in the trees.

Luke was passingly familiar with this path as well, though he associated it very vaguely with feelings of panic and worry from the time of the Sandalwood contest fiasco. He followed without thinking much about that, though, most of his attention consumed by the effort of minding his footing and keeping up. He raised words to his voice to offer a reply to Yuri but was interrupted unexpectedly by a dull thud and a string of profanity. Luke looked to the fallen person, startled, as he began to rise, the boy advancing a few steps in instinct to offer assistance before stopping himself. "Are… you okay?" He felt kind of guilty for so readily judging from appearances, but on the other hand, an appearance like that kind of invited judgment…

Yuri was just as surprised to see a man drop out of the sky as Luke was. The long haired swordsman staring for a moment before dropping his bag and approaching. He passed Luke as he paused, and then regarded the dark skinned man for a moment. Apparently not at all fazed by Jerome's appearance.

"Hey man, that was quite a tumble," a slightly amused smirk on his face as his sword rested on his shoulder while offering his other hand to help him to his feet should he need it.

Hearing the snickering above them, Repede blinked his one eye and tilted his head to look up.

Jerome looked around sharply when he heard other voices, looking surprised to see anyone.
Two men, though one of them certainly had the pretty boy look going, the other was younger it seemed, though looked like he had seen better days.
Reaching out to take Yuri's hand, accepting his held as he pushed to his feet, his leg still stiff as he leaned over to rub at it.
"Nah" Jerome told the taller man. "Takin' spills s'part of runnin'"

He shrugged off, leaning back against the side of the platform,
He was probably not as into shape as he had hoped he was, it had been a while since he was able to do Parkour like this, and he could definitely feel some of the restraints in his muscle. Though the wounds he had gotten had haled, and the scarring wasn't nearly as bad as it would have been. Had it not been for Rocket medical technology he might not be running at all.

Tilting his head up from his low posture to look at the man and boy who where here.
"S'the sword for?" He asked eying it, admitting that he didn't see people just walking around with swords. "N'fancy threads."

From the treetops, Rapede would not see anything, though the snickering did die down eventually.

Luke wasn't really sure how to respond here. The stranger's appearance looked to be specifically configured for intimidation, but at the same time he didn't seem to be taking any effort to threaten them. On the contrary, he seemed awfully laid-back for someone who had just fallen out of a tree. He watched the man's exchange with Yuri silently, unsure of what to say or if he was even supposed to say anything at all. He was… not great at meeting people.

Jerome would find Yuri's grasp to be steady as he help pull the man to his feet. Blinking once as he now got a good look at the man's eyes. Whoa... he'd never seen tattoos on eyes like that before. That was something.

"Runnin', huh?" he asked, looking slightly confused as how you could fall like that at running when it struck him. "Ooh, so you're a traceur." A bit of accent coming through as Yuri spoke the French word.

He was familiar with Parkour, as it wasn't too dissimilar from a lot of the training exercises and obstacle courses they did in the military.

His smirk returning when asked about the sword. "I dunno, maybe I just like swords?" His eyes now turning down to his clothes as they were mentioned. "These old things? Not that fancy where I'm from."

At the word that Yuri used the tattooed man arched an eyebrow, "A what?" the accent with it just made the word sound even more foreign to the ex-gangster.

At the man's explanation about liking swords, Jerome gave a light shrug, letting out a grunt as he nodded casually "fare nuff." He reasoned. couldn't argue with that.
He could have assumed they were not from around here, at least not anything he had seen in Camphoreon before. "yea? Where ya two from?" He asked, looking from Yuri to the red haired boy.

Luke's first and instinctive response to the question was to say Camphoreon, but he stopped the word before it left him. Probably not what the guy was asking, and so he replied appropriate to the context, "Grande Ile." Definitely not great with strangers.

"A tracer," Yuri clarified, translating the actual word. "Someone who does Parkour."

When Luke gave the response to the question of where they were from, Yuri nodded once in affirmation.

"Those're some pretty fancy tattoos you got there too," the man then commented. "You from around here?"

Jerome stared at Yuri for a couple of seconds after he had explained what the word mean.
"Huh." He grunted in something that resembled surprise. "Always jus' called us runners." He didn't really ever consider that there might actually be a proper word for that, then again that was probably due to the fact that he hadn't ever given two shits about it either.
Who knows if he will ever remember the word, but it was something to consider looking into using if he did.

The tattooed man had spent a good part of their initial meeting stretching out his leg, and by the time Luke had told him where they were From, Jerome gave the boy a confused frown, reaching his arms back to push himself up off of the side of the platform, back up onto his feet where he shook out his leg, putting weight back onto it.
"Grand Ile." He repeated "Ain't hear a that place." He admitted with a continued frown. "Ain't on Kodo, is it?"

At Yuri's comment and question, the ex-gangster glanced over at him, with a very mild grin barely crossed his lips at the comment about his Tattoos.
"Jus' down n' Camphoreon." He replied, with a hand gesturing off in the direction of the city.

Luke dedicated most of his resources to watching and listening, trying to get a general feel of things. He still wasn't really sure what to make of the stranger. He didn't look like someone who wanted to be approached, but he didn't converse like someone unapproachable. He shook his head faintly to confirm the voiced suspicion, clarifying in brief terms, "It's overseas." He reverted to listening thereafter, autonomously looking up with slightly more attention at the familiar name of the city. It wasn't really of surprise to meet someone from the city that he had never seen before, given how absolutely sprawling Camphoreon was, but it was still a point of some interest.
