INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CLASS:

NAME OF CLASS: Intermediate First Aid (must have passed beginner)
PROFESSOR NAME: Professor Cricket

Prerequisites:
- Must complete beginner first aid successfully
- Must be Y2 or higher!

General information: This goes into using another individuals FEAR to heal them – thus promoting their own system to fix it.

The healing dummies have returned! However, this time it seems like Nurse Cricket has done a little bit worse to them than she did before, some of them being cut into rather deeply, and others bearing strange discolorations. The only explanation she really gives is that she put her ‘touch’ on them.

Which you really don’t want to know much more about.

“There is FEAR in those dummies. What I’d like you to do with them is draw their FEAR to the surface to pull away the injury that has been given them. This is an effective way to heal without tiring yourself out.” From the way Cricket explained it, it sounded like this was what a lot of her job consisted of.

“What you need to do,” she begins to go into more detail on what she expects, “is clean the area of contact. Once you’ve done that, use your FEAR to pull at the FEAR of the dummy. If you’ve ever been healed by me, hold onto that feeling from when I make contact. They feel quite similar and you’ll find your balance from that.”

For those who hadn’t been healed by Cricket before…? WHELP. She wasn’t about to demo any further than that.

Mechanics:

Roll 1d4
This is your accuracy.

Now Roll 1d10 and match your result below - subtract your accuracy roll from your result. If your roll will take you underneath ‘1’, go to 10 and continue down from there.

Match your rolls

1. Perfect! You’ve forced the condition to remove itself!
2. Uh oh! You’ve gone a little bit too far and your ‘patient’ gets really ill!
3. You do OK. It takes a little while longer to fix, but your work is passable.
4. Your work is poor. Cricket won’t pass it.
5. You do OK. It takes a little while longer to fix, but your work is passable.
6. Your work is poor. Cricket won’t pass it.
7. You do OK. It takes a little while longer to fix, but your work is passable.
8. Your work is poor. Cricket won’t pass it.
9. Uh oh! You’ve gone a little bit too far and your ‘patient’ gets really ill!
10. Perfect! You’ve forced the condition to remove itself!

TO PASS: You must either get a ‘Perfect’ or an ‘OK’.

Bonus Mechanics:
None!

Rosciel was once more in Cricket's classroom, privately eager over a new healing class. So far, his experiences in her classes had been useful. And he actually enjoyed them, and the teacher. Cricket had a personality he respected and that made her classes far more interesting than some of the others he'd taken or considered.
Eyebrows quirked slightly over dark sunglasses as his attention was drawn to the dummies that he was becoming familiar with in Cricket's classes. They certainly didn't look like they had the last time he'd worked with them. But then, the nurse began explaining and that made more sense.

Clean the area, that he knew how to do, but drawing the FEAR up to the surface to heal the damage... That was new and since he'd only ever dissipated and not actually been hurt and healed by Cricket, he had no experience. But he'd get it, no matter how often he had to try.

His dummy was one of the cut ones, though to be fair he'd sort of chosen that on purpose because cuts and open wounds were something of a specialty of his. Most of what he dealt with where aches and pains at this point, but having been cut in the past, he'd done his best to make sure he could take care of himself should anything along those lines ever happens again.

Cleaning it was easy. He found some debris around the cut, but nothing that would have concerned him. Taking care of the dummies was actually sort of fun. Honestly, healing hadn't been something he'd ever considered putting this much effort into, much less something that he would actually enjoy doing. It wasn't a real hobby by any means, but at least it was something he found he liked doing. And working on the dummies, unlike actual people, they didn't talk or try to bother him while he was working on them. And they wouldn't tell about how he'd actually helped someone.
Then again, at this point, there didn't seem to be much point in avoiding the latter. Cricket didn't seem to care. In fact, she didn't seem to be any more sociable that he was, and yet she was a nurse and teacher here. He paused in his work for a moment, considering that revelation. He didn't like people, he didn't trust them as far as he could throw them, Sin not included. But that didn't mean that he couldn't help them. And while there were some who tried hard to be friendly while they used their FEAR to heal others, it wasn't a prerequisite. The faint memories of a dream world reminded him of how he didn't need to like people to help them. And how while he had his troubles in life, he had far more blessing than he had ever really considered. In another life, born from a part of him, healing had stuck with him, that and his acerbic personality. It was interesting to think about.

For a moment, the neutral line turned into a frown, but it was quickly chased back into a line of concentration as he decided to get back to work and think about other things later.
Now came the hard part... What had Cricket said? Use his FEAR to connect to the FEAR inside the dummy and pull it to the surface to heal it... His brow furrowed slightly as he reached out with his FEAR. It caused his vision to dim a bit, but he could still see what he was doing. It just took some of the edges away.

He could feel it, at least that's what he thought it was. A FEAR, but one unlike his own. Drawing it forward was a just another experiment in figuring this out. His breathing slowed as he focused his concentration on the task at hand. It was working, he could feel it and see it, in a manner of speaking. The cut began to heal, slowly at first, but increasing in speed the longer he worked. In what seemed like no time at all, the cut was completely gone. And adding to that, he felt it looked like a fairly clean heal. He'd need practice still, he knew better than to think that he could do it once and be an expert at it, but doing well was a good sign. Especially on his first attempt.

Pulling his FEAR back, his full vision restored, Rosc quirked a bit of a smile at his work. It looked and felt like a job done well and it brought with it a sense of satisfaction. He gave his dummy one more look over to make sure that he hadn't missed anything before returning the dummy to where the healed and cured ones were kept.
