Instead, he spouts puffs of "spirit" (the little puff balls floating by his art). In his human form this translates to him occasionally exhaling little puffs of spirit reflexively.
Personality: Wally is a happy kind of kid. He was adopted into a very positive environment that encourages him to be the best that he can be and embraces who he is. This has left him with a surety in himself that a lot of kids like him wouldn't have. He may still have moments of questioning that when bullied, but all he needs is a reminder that people believe in him to get him back on his feet.
His moms have drilled it into his head that he is strong and capable, and he can do anything and, well. When Wally got addicted to superhero shows and decided he wanted to save people, they decided to encourage that too. Thus, Wally thinks he can be that superhero. The Incredible Whale. The Invincible Wally. Whaleman. He has to save any and all damsels in distress, because that's what superheroes do. He'll run headlong into danger if he thinks that's what a hero would do.
He's a social kind of creature. He thrives on being open and honest, and does well with other people like that. Warm, accepting personalities are the ones he's most attracted to, but cold and aloof personalities will make him very uncomfortable. He has no idea how to deal with that level of emotional distance.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
When Wally came into existence (no pumpkins here, folks, just fear) he was adopted by two mermaids. They took him and loved him like he was their own, and they encouraged him to do anything he could set his mind to. In order to encourage him to reach for his goals they've decided to send him to Amity where he can be best educated and get some experience outside their home.
