Maebe isn't an attention whore, exactly. She doesn't want attention from everyone, and she doesn't like being the center stage of anything. But once she has established any sort of relationship with someone, she demands their attention while she's around, and can get a little jealous about it. Her jealousy doesn't come out as anger or unhappiness, but rather spite - she reacts to jealousy by attempting to make the other party jealous. This could occur by ignoring them, hanging out with new people, blatantly talking about how awesome someone else is, etc. But this only happens with people she cares about.
Masochistic:
Maebe's masochistic tendencies are not a sexual trait. She doesn't get turned on by pain, she just feels more empowered by it. The burn of a good workout, the heat of her weapon, the sting of pain during a spar, they give her endorphins and adrenaline that cheer her up immensely. So she seeks out situations that hurt, because they make her feel better.
Tell me Lies, Tell me Sweet Little Lies:
Somewhat related to the above, Maebe is attracted to those who don't treat her right. It's not a very uncommon trait, but she's well aware of it, and has accepted that she likes the bad boys, and she hangs out with people who aren't good friends. It's a guilty pleasure.
Laid Back:
It's hard to make Maebe lose her temper. She's not very loud, and not very easily excitable, but in turn, she's also not very easily depressed. She stays relatively neutral unless something really, really matters to her.
Pastels are a Girls Best Friend:
Maebe loves bright colors, cheerful accents, and soft things. She had an extensive stuffed animal collection, her pride and joy, but she obviously couldn't bring the majority of it to Deus so most of her savings will likely go to replenishing her hoard whenever she makes any money.

Background: Maebe dropped out of high school several times. It was a cry for attention, most of which was unheard as her parents just re-enrolled her as soon as they found out, and nothing more was done about it. Her education was spotty at best, excelling at subjects she might have actually accidentally paid attention to while simultaneously being abysmal in subjects she skipped altogether. She retained her high school diploma due to a mere fluke, which involved accidentally acing a class that she thought was pottery but turned out to be chemistry.
Her best friend told her she couldn't do it. She had to prove them wrong.
Maebe has no real experience with relationships, as the most she did was flirt with someone until they started to show interest, and then ignored them completely. The critical blow in her life came when her mother died, and her father left her to pursue his career. She spent the last few years living with her uncle, lost without an outlet for acting out on. It leveled her out, maturing her just enough to realize the only thing she really wanted was to not be left alone. She never let herself be alone.
Bad things happened when she was alone.
With no real focus or goal in life, and no jobs knocking down the door of a constant academic failure, Maebe saw Deus as a way in, not a way out. She wasn't thrilled at the prospect.. but she had no better offers.

Personality: Thaw is a giant balrog. With great size comes great responsibility, and he uses said responsibility to be very protective of Maebe. She makes awful decisions on her own, and he would try to be her conscience, except he knows better than to ever give Maebe any advice. She will without fault do the opposite of whatever is told to her.
In general, Thaw is a sweetheart, despite looking like a giant fiery monster from hell. He's pretty clever, keeping his mouth shut when he needs to, and stepping in when it's the right time. Otherwise, he'll stand there like a statue and let birds nest on him.
