It was nearly nine-thirty that Thursday night. It was freezing. He could not feel it, but he could see it in the frost that lined the windows of Willa's apartment. Through the window, he gazed up into the sky at the clouds that had been hovering there all day. Gentle flurries of snow were carried down on the sharp winter breeze. He recognized the kind of flurries and the kind of frost. In the mountains of Transylvania, the same happened before the first winter's storm. The temperature dipped into freezing levels. One could not bear to step foot outside unless one absolutely had to. It was the kind of night one would long to stay in all day by the fire and sip a hot beverage. Thinking about it, he missed those sorts of days. Specifically, he realized he missed the mere sensation of eating and drinking. It was strange to not consume anything.
He glanced over at Willa. She did not know lucky she was to at least be alive. To be a ghost was more of a curse than he realized. The lingering dead had power but only if they knew how to properly wield it. Even then, such power could only be acquired through several years of practice and control. He had neither time nor experience on his side. Calin felt horribly vulnerable and hated to rely on anybody. However, he was lucky to have had Willa find him. Anybody else, and he was sure he would have been enslaved to have done their bidding until he found his own vessel. Yes, he could have possessed a human being. Alas, it would not have been the same as having his own corporeal body. At first, the body would reject him unless Calin extinguished the owner from existence. The combined struggle for dominance would yield the body susceptible to death,. Its resources would be drained because of its two hosts. Thus, a human vessel would not last long. The creation of a corporeal body would reset Calin's strength and power.
"Do you have everything you need, Villa?" Calin inquired of the witch. He wanted to make sure she had everything they needed before leaving for Connecticut. OOC : xxxx

○●● the WITCH ﹙ ωιℓℓα נαηαι вяιgαηт ﹚ Willa had been busy all morning, rummaging around her little apartment for all of the items she'd need for their trip. She had enchanted her purse to be bottomless, so she could fit whatever she needed in there. She even managed to stuff a pet bed deep at the bottom for Frankie to travel along. She couldn't be separated from her dear cat. She looked fondly at the feline who stared up at her with bright eyes. She held out her hands, beckoning for the cat to come. Once she was in reach Willa scooped her up and cradled her before letting her crawl into the purse. After filing a few more things in there she snapped it shut and glanced around her room once more. She was already dressed to perfection in a white top, black skinny pants, black boots, and a leather jacket. She opened up a drawer and slid on a pair of black lace gloves, then set a pair of sun glasses on her face. She passed the mirror, checking to make sure she looked presentable before walking out of her tiny bedroom to Calin.
Willa never left her room without a perfect appearance. Even when she wasn't going out of the house she was dressed to perfection. She stopped a few feet from Calin, eying him tentatively. She was still very cautious around the ghost. But the presence of him sent thrills through her body. She looked out her small window at the city below. Frost was creeping across the glass, snow was drifting down from the gray clouds, lightly covering the pavement. She sighed, she was impervious to the cold feeling that the winter weather brought. She could not feel heat, or cold anymore. Her body was numb to the feeling. She yearned to feel again, to feel the temperature like others did. She remembered a long time ago when she was cursed by an enemy witch who took many things away from the young witch. Feeling being one of them. And she believed that the witch had said that the only thing to break the curse, was love. As cliche as that was, it was true. The thing is, Willa doesn't get close enough to anyone to love. Therefore she had settled with the thought that she would never be able to feel again.
"Yes, I have everything I need Calin. I'm ready." The truth is hiding in your eyes And it’s hanging on your tongue Just boiling in my blood But you think that I can’t see

He often thought of winter as being like him: cold, still, unmoving. He looked through the window up at the gray clouds. The sun had sank hours ago, and the only light was that of the city in the distance. However, the location of Willa's apartment did not attract much light, as was the neighborhood in which it was placed. Outside it was heavily dark, even though streetlamps should have been lit. Unfortunately, the bulbs of the lamps had long ago burnt out and were yet to be changed. This darkness made winter even more oppressive. The clouds choked out starlight and moonlight; they did not move to allow either one to stream through. Though temperature he could not feel, he could sense the absence of heat. Perhaps it was the molecular matter of things. It was only natural for atoms to slow in declining temperatures. Calin could feel his spiritual form becoming heavier with the cold.
Calin heard Willa's answer. With that cue, he turned towards the door. He closed his eyes and concentrated all his energy onto the door. Then, stepping forward, Calin passed through the solid matter of the door. From beyond the door, Calin called, "Then, let us leave. It is time for things to begin."OOC : xxxx
