[PRP] Lunch Date with Hooves

Well.. that didn't leave too many options now did it? Flynn finished his food as he considered Dove's words, and then nodded.

"That would be fine with me, and I don't think he would have a problem with that either." Knowing Yuri, he would be fine with just about anything so long as it didn't involve putting him on the spot too much.

"A table for three it is, then," she said with a smile, before finishing off her own food.

After a few more minutes of talking and finishing up their meals, Dove led Flynn out of the restaurant and toward the fields on the outskirts of town after a quick stop to select the gear they would need, Lovey padding forward ahead of the two with a sack-- really just a folded napkin --full of pecha berries clenched in her teeth. Once safely in the fields, away from the few other trainers there battling--both for privacy and the sake of her embarrassment-- she grinned and reached for a luxury ball at her hip, then released the pokemon into the tall grass. "Bonjour, Thierry!" she laughed, throwing a happy glance to Flynn as she greeted the Rapidash. She still couldn't believe the ponyta had evolved into something so great...

Thierry's ears swiveled, and he tipped his head at the language as he did every time, before he shook out his mane and snorted his own hello to the two, reaching forward to bump her chin a little with his nose. His eyes fell to Flynn next, however, and his gaze grew a little more cautious, hesitant, though much unlike his typhlosion friend's.

Naturally Flynn was the chivalrous knight and offered to carry all the things that Dove had purchased at the store, including all of the tack that she bought. It didn't bother him any as he was used to hauling around saddles and such.

He waited patiently as Thierry was released and greeted. The blonde man stepping forward with a smile. "Hello there, Thierry," he said as he hefted the saddle in his arms.

"We're going to try something today. I'm going to put this on your back, all right?"

Hopefully the Rapidash would be okay with it. He didn't particularly care to get a nasty burn today.

Dove gave Flynn another look of apology as they finally stopped, pleased but embarrassed by his offer to carry everything. She had told him it wasn't necessary, but he had proved--again-- to be nothing aside from a gentleman with each insisting attempt to assure her it was alright.

Lovey settled i the grass with her package, after offering Thierry a bark of greeting and encouragement.

The Rapidash blinked at Flynn as he was shown the strange contraption he was being told was to be out on his back, and took a step back, looking to Dove. Who was this man? He had seen him once, he thought... Maybe.

The girl reached forward to stroke the pokemon's nose. "Hey, hey... It's just like the blanket, I promise. And Flynn won't hurt you..." she assured him, stepping around to hug the young man from behind. See?"

Thierry huffed nervously, and looked at the man again. Dove was a pretty female human... Of course Flynn would be nice to her.... But he wasn't.
And what even was that thing? She said it was like the blanket, but it didnt look soft...

Well, the Rapidash didn't seem to trust him at all, and that was fine. He really couldn't blame the Pokemon. He seemed rather nervous as a Ponyta and he didn't really know him. Flynn though, was not an idiot and knew to be cautious. Thus the man put down the saddle and took the cushion out from under it. However, when Dove came around to hug him from behind, he blinked once, his cheeks reddening a little before clearing his throat slightly and moving on.

"How about we start with the saddle blanket?"

He then handed it to Dove.

"Since he trusts you more, try putting it on his back. Just behind his shoulders there."

Though she grinned at the warmth in his cheeks, she refrained from giggling as she released him and stepped away. Not only a handsome, chivalrous knight, but adorable as well.

At his suggestion, she nodded and took the blanket from him before looking to Thierry again. "This part is just a blanket, see? Nice and plushy," she smiled, a laugh escaping as the horse leaned forward to sniff at it and offer another snuff. If she said it was okay...

As she strained to reach over the Rapidash's back--gracefully elongating her figure a she stretched-- at least high enough to lay the blanket in its proper place, she spoke to Flynn. "Hey, see if Lovey will share her Pecha berries... Thierry likes them too!" One of the reasons she had allowed the eevee such a large 'baggie' of them.

The saddle was a bit heavier than the blanket, and Dove wasn't really tall enough to swing it over Thierry's back either. This could be a problem. However, Dove's suggestion did seem like a good idea. Thus the blonde man put the saddle down and went over to the Eevee, bending down.

"Hey, Lovey, mind if I use one of your berries?" Flynn asked of the little Pokemon.

He did know how much she loved them, considering how the Eevee had gobbled them up both times he and Dove had gone to lunch together.

Once Dove had laid the blanket over Thierry's back, she moved around in front of the Rapidash, and began to stroke his nose again, softly cooing her reassurance and telling him step by step what was happening. Nothing to be afraid of.

Lovey, meanwhile, looked up at Flynn when he approached, then lifted herself to her feet with a bright bark, though she also carried a playful gleam in her eyes. With a wave if her tail, and a little wiggle of her rump, she picked up her sack of berries and darted around his feet, before dashing a short ways off, wanting to play and show Thierry that the blonde really was harmless.

Flynn blinked at the mischevous look and the playful bark. When she ran off, the blonde chuckled a little.

"Hey, come back here!"

He then started chasing her in what he presumed was a game of tag.

Lovey only grinned and wiggled again as she paused a little ways away, then proceeded to dart around again as soon as it was obvious Flynn would play along.

Dove turned to watch the eevee, then laughed, shaking her head. "Oh, Lovey! Be nice to Flynn!" she laughed, snapping her fingers.

At the snap, the Pokemon stopped, then turned to Flynn and ran toward him, pouncing at the man with the berries in her mouth.

Flynn was chasing after her, trying to snatch up the little Eevee. But when she darted in another direction, the man lost his footing and fell onto his rear. Despite the little bit of pain, he laughed, especially when Lovey pounced at him.

"All right, you win," he told the Eevee, while petting her head. "How about giving me a break and letting me have one of those berries?"

Thierry watched this all with curious eyes, and blinked as Lovey proceeded to sit in the man's lap triumphantly, pulling a giggle from his trainer as she dropped the little napkin full of bundled berries for him in favor of arching up into his hand as he petted her and laughed. "Eeeeeev!"

Dove smiled fondly, watching Flynn for a moment, her gaze lasting a little longer than she meant for it to.

"Thank you very much," Flynn said as Lovey dropped the berries, still petting her. He then took a couple of them and stood, walking carefully over to Thierry.

The man then held out his hand with the berries towards the Rapidash.

"Here, how about trusting me just a little bit," he said gently.

Lovey soaked up the attention as the man wished to give it, then hopped away from his lap to allow him to step over toward Thierry.

As Flynn approached, Dove continued to stroke the Rapidash's neck, smiling brightly at the man, though she spoke to the pokemon. "See? He's not going to hurt you..." she cooed softly, gently scratching a little amidst the flames along the pokemon's neck.

A long pause, then a long, soft huff, as if a release of stresses and a timid acquiescence, before the stallion reached out with his nose to sniff at the man's fingers, then to accept the treat he offered.

The girl beamed as her pokemon let his nose linger tentatively in the man's hand, even after the berries were gone, his eyes still fixed carefully on Flynn's face. "There we go..."
