Name: Chumani Roe Drieden
Nicknames: Roe (everyday), Bambi (old boyfriend's nickname for her)

Race: Skinwalker - Reindeer
Natural Ability: Skinwalking- Given a hide of a creature (at least 25% of the total skin) she can shift into the form of that creature. With a skin she is unfamiliar with this can take a large amount of time (up to 30 minutes if it is something far from her familiarity (anything not a large mammal)) however for a skin she has used before it takes less time. For a skin she is very familiar with, like her reindeer skin it can take as little as two minutes. Once she has shifted into that skin she is attuned to it for several hours, this allows her to shift back and forth very easily, but it makes it very hard for her to take a different skin. Shifting to different skins too frequently gives her a migraine.
Personality: Due to growing up in a story rich environment of her large family Chumani has always been fascinated by the stories that different cultures have to offer. She collects all the stories she hears around Halloween and blogs about them weekly as well as personal stories and dramatized retellings of events she personally witnessed.
Switching schools and having the credits not transfer was a huge personal setback for her, but she's willing to buck up (no pun intended) because she believes it's better to go in optimistically. Her old school had been pretty isolated anyway, now's her big chance to get stories from demons and reapers and all sorts of new people.
Had she not grown up with a strong family background she would have had much more difficulty in school due to her average, normal, boring appearance by monster standards. She spent several years trying to up the ante by wearing outlandish clothes, but she never could compete with Claudia a Gorgon who could change the colors of her snakes to match her outfits. Eventually she fell in with a group of reapers because she didn't feel the need to try and compete with their appearance.
As with all people there are things she hates. For example ghosts squick her out for some reason. She's never been sure why, and she can have a civil conversation, but she avoids them when possible.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Her family moved so she's switching schools. Oh joy....
FEAR Ability: Type: Offensive -- The Charge
Description: She charges toward her opponents pulling extra strength from the skin to which she is currently attuned via FEAR and letting forth a flurry of blows.
Tier One:
Dice: 3d8
First Two Dice: work just like standard attack dice.
xxxxx ie, 2d8 -6 = the damage to your first target.
Third Dice: divided by 2 is the damage do your second target. Remember to round up.
xxxxx ie third dice was rolled 3. 1.5 rounds up to 2 damage to second target.
Background
Her family tree is long and has many branches that reach as far back into the beginnings of Halloween Town. According to one of the more popular family stories one of her ancestors walked the earth with humans. Other popular stories included great uncles who snuck into the human world to cause chaos. As she's gotten older she's learned to question some of the more outrageous stories, but the overall feeling of a long history seems to be mostly true. She has worn many skins over her life, but was presented with the reindeer on her 13th birthday and it is by far her favorite.
She attended one of the smaller schools for a while, but her family made the decision to relocate to Halloween Town and she will enter as a first year student because the classes did not transfer (they never do).
She's working on a book of all the stories from around Halloween and she's interested in all of it: children's stories, family history, human encounters, etc. She keeps a small brown journal with her at all times which she writes the shorthand versions of stories. She writes a weekly blog about the stories she found and sometimes about other interesting tidbits.
In her free time that doesn't involve blogging she practices (or attempts to practice) small curses using personal affects. Usually she asks permission, but she always had to keep this quiet in her old school which had a large population of monsters who generally would not have appreciated the knowledge that she was using magic, even small magic. |
