Imiar watched him, hoping that he wouldn't regret paying this price to find Zaraki.

She nodded when he said he'd found him. "Now the question is, do we go straight for Zaraki? Or do you want to satisfy your carnivorous needs first?" She smirked at him, arching a brow. She didn't want this mission to find Zaraki to feel as solemn as it did, and humor seemed to be the best way to lighten the mood.

He smiled back at her as his stomach growled.

"Something to eat would be nice too, he said to her." He clapped his hands together as the scroll disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

"A man's gotta eat." he said jokingly, standing up, brushing the sand off of his clothes from the desert.

Imiar laughed as his stomach growled, forming a warp gate. It would take them to the outskirts of the desert city. She didn't want to risk making a flashy entrance.

Stepping through the portal, she expanded her senses, feeling that the city appeared to be bustling per usual. She headed through the city gate, aiming for the market place. Discreetly, she handed Ukitake some money and motioned him towards a stall with a variety of meats.

"Get what you want," she said softly, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against a nearby grain barrel. She was squinting slightly due to the bright sun; this sun would deter most of her kind from even nearing this city, which made it the perfect hiding place when she first ran from home. It took some getting used to, but she was on high alert, even without her perfect eyesight. Now that they were on the move, her exhaustion was completely on the back-burner; she had more important things to worry about.

Ukitake clenched the money tightly as he headed in the direction of a local stand selling grilled meat in various flavors. His mouth watered slightly as he ordered the largest plate possible, bringing it over to a nearby table to eat it all at once.

He finished rather quickly as he looked over to her. Ukitake walked over to her while placing his hand on Imiar's shoulder.

"Hey there. You seem a little lost in thought." he commented.

((Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Get well soon! sad ))

She watched him idly, amused at his appetite. She felt bad though, for only getting him food like this every now and then. He must be tired of her narrow diet...

Her train of thought was interrupted by his voice, a lot closer than she'd expected it to be, and a hand on her shoulder. She resisted the instinct to break the appendage as her eyes focused on his face.

"So it would seem," she drawled quietly, slightly frustrated that she lost her attentiveness for a moment.

"Are we ready to go..." find Zaraki? she drifted off, finishing the question mentally. She was certain that he would understand her meaning. She didn't want any potentially-prying ears to hear her speak his name-- that would warn him of his precarious position. It would be better for him to think they were still avoiding him, so that he wouldn't try to flee.
