I was kind of leaning towards the centaur one if that is alright with you sweatdrop only because my shape shifter has a back story that might not fit the context. We can make it Centaur x Hunter if you would like. I can make it where the centaur is of noble birth of an ancient lineage that has since died out. His blood would be extremely rare and would bring in a fortune on the black market for a major ingredient in many extremely powerful spells. The dark Families of High Sages would do anything to get their hands on him and control the supply of his precious blood. They would use that power and abuse it until they become the most powerful beings in the realm, though they would never admit it. Naturally He would want to stay as far away from them as possible because he doesn't want to be exploited for evil or be their prisoner.

The setting would be more medieval fantasy or it could be a little bit more modern but in the country side or in the woods because the centaur would want to be as far away from bad people as possible so that they don't try to capture him.
