2. You awaken on the shady side of a towering sand dune, near an oasis. Birds with long, brightly-colored tails fly overhead. If you are a native Acha, you recognize this as your homeland. A strange, smooth-sided tower of red stone rises in the distance. Native Acha may or may not recognize it as a landmark.
Kiss of Death - Kiss of Death
Foreign chirping noises were heard between the heavy flapping of wings. The doe stirred in her sleep. The sun seemed to shine brighter and warmer than usual. The air was dry and not moist at all, as if the humidity had been sucked right out of the atmosphere. The nude coloured ground, parched and thirsty for water, had cracks that were scattered all over the land. Certain parts even emitted heat waves, which can be mistaken for steam if one was looking at it from a distance.
Kiss of Death groaned and jerked before straining to raise one of her eyelids. Her face still touching the ground, it felt soft and grainy but hot to the touch, and made her feel uncomfortable. She lifted up the other eyelid and felt her veins throb loudly inside her head pounding against her skull. Her hide had become dry and parts of it had even cracked. In some of those cracks, rows of dried blood laid burrowed between them due to the dry air.
Slowly, as if coming out of a long deep sleep while her limbs remained stiff against the ground, she rolled her eyeballs toward the ground to see what she was lying on and noticed that it was sand...
"Ugh, sand.." she complained. Where the hell am I? It's too hot to be out at the beach.
