'Who knew that our journey would take us to places long forgotten to the history of the world? Our only knowledge in our books is that this was once ruled by the Kairnah, an ancient race of reptilian beings known for their ability to control the very world s strings with their minds. They could bend reality to their will, and with it came their ultimate downfall as they tried to play god in a godless world.

...The translations here speak of a paradise... Something we have been searching for. It seems we are close...'
The expedition stopped, pausing, sweeping their torches about to see into the darkness around them. chittering could be heard from insectoid like creatures. The eight drew their swords, dropping their torches simultaneously, shields closing into closed formation. Nothing would get through their defenses.. Unless it came from below. Mandibles shot out from the earth and dragged the warriors beneath. Blood stained the ancient walls and cries for help called out as another group fell to the dangers of the mountain's city Do'Naglas.

The Backstory

The world is dying, humans have retreated to a small valley encompassed by mountains as their last bastion of hope. The darkness has yet to breach the natural walls of the world, and so a world has been constructed relying on these walls of nature. Life is short however, the city that sits nestled in this crater is full of despair, starvation and hatred. The city streets are littered with corpses and disease spreads like a famine. The royalty barely hold control of the city, their advanced technology all that allows them to keep control of the city, as people fear being shot down from the strange weaponry that slings invisible projectiles. A flash is all you see and then you are dead.

In an attempt to calm the citizens the king called for an expedition through the mountains. Any brave enough to travel through the mountain and then return would be greatly rewarded. Five hundred volunteers made a call for arms and so the First Expedition began. The ancient gates that were made of the stone of the mountains opened to reveal the darkness far below. The expedition marched into the darkness and the gates closed behind them. Two years later the gates opened once more, only twenty had survived. They did not want a reward, and they acted like they had seen the ghosts of their ancestors. They were given proper food and shelter, but they soon died off by some mysterious disease. Only one survived, the youngest, a boy that was the age of twelve, barely old enough to carry a sword. He disappeared into darkness.

Five years later, the boy appeared at the steps to the castle, grown and hefting a sword meant to be carried by three men. He marched up the steps and pushed the doors open, speaking to the king he demanded he be allowed to take another expedition into the depths of the mountains, as he had seen a paradise for their people, but they would need to push back the darkness in order to advance towards this new world.

The king agreed, and he sent out for another rally. Few answered. One hundred came to the call, the weakest, the starved, and the decrepit appeared. The boy chose one from the crowd. A girl his age. He moved down the steps and people parted like a sea before him as he towered above the girl. The man took off his helmet and revealed silver hair and orange eyes, slits for pupils like that of a cats. "You are my chosen companion. You are not the strongest, or the fastest, nor the smartest. However you carry with you the Light of Purity as I once did. Only in the shadows will it shine, and we will be marching into the darkest of shadows." He then turned to the king and spoke freely, not bound by the law. "By the time we return, your crown will have fallen from your head, and the people will be of despair. The only way to stop this is to share your weaponry with the citizens. Arm them and train them for combat, and when we return, we will bring purity to the land once more, the shadow expelled from the land. I promise you this."

The two departed, once more the gates opening before the two. This is where their journey began together. A journey to a world of salvation in a dying world.

Details :: Borian is a giant of a man, unnaturally tall and a wall of straight muscle. His face is chiseled, the color always shifting around the slit of his irises. Underneath his armor and clothes is a body covered in scars and bite marks, as if he has gotten into fights with beasts of indescribable proportions, the flesh is puckered and marred from piercing, slices, and blunted blows.

►▶▸ є q u ι ρ м є и т

Abilities :: Demon Blood- Borian is infected with a corrupted power and if he drinks tinctures made out of parts of his enemies and his own blood he can gain different temporary abilities, though they are usually of a healing type.

Demon Eyes- Borian can see in the dark and has the ability to sense danger in whatever direction he is looking

Guardian Spirit- Borian is able to come to the aid of his companion whenever he considers her in great peril. He can receive killing blows and continue onward until he knows that his companion in safe, which he then succumbs to his wounds, although he usually drinks one of his many potions to keep himself alive afterwords.

Mental Fortitude- Borian is much stronger than the average human, both physically and mentally. With it comes the ability to travel great distances without fatigue and spells that influence a person's mind have little effect on him.

Iron Vanguard- Borian makes sure he is always the first into battle. He is able to leap great distances and attack very quickly, usually dividing an enemies formation in two to allow any allies he has to come and further disrupt the enemy.

Weapons :: Borian's two weapons are his Iron Zweilhander and a Mithril Longsword at his side.

Weakness :: Borian's weakness is his mobility in battle, as he is slowed down by the great plates he carries. Speed is given way to defense. He can't use magic either and relies on his alchemical skills in order to mimic spells.

►▶▸ ρ ι я ι v α т є м α т т є я s

Personality :: Borian is the silent guardian type. He doesn't talk much, but he is always watching out for danger and is the first to step into the line of fire if it means protecting others. He also doesn't like to show off and is very shy when it comes to intimate matters. When he does talk however, he is often thought of as distant.

History :: Borian was the only true survivor of the First Expedition. It has also changed him in some way, but no one knows truly how, other than he seems to have no fear of the darkness that is slowly eating the world. Before the First Expedition, Borian was simply another urchin scavenging the streets for what scraps he could. He never went hungry, as he was always a step ahead of his competition and with it came great animosity. He learned how to fight by he was ten, brutally killing others that got in the way of his food. He had no qualms with it, and in fact, he once led a small group of bandits that had stockpiled food. When the bells rang for the First Expedition, Borian saw a way to gain more power and so he took it... Whatever happened to the expedition into the mountain changed Borian into a vigilante haunted by the past.

Secrets :: Borian carries a small pendant with the words 'Madeline' engraved into the gold. He often has the small locket in his hand while walking.

►▶▸ в α s ι c s

Full Name :: Adrasa
Nickname :: Unknown, That Child, Exile
Age :: 17

►▶▸ α ρ ρ є α я α и c є

Height :: 5' 5"
Weight :: 130 Ibs.
Hair :: White
Eye color :: Crimson
Details :: Adrasa

►▶▸ є q u ι ρ м є и т

Abilities :: Trace - Adrasa isn't a very physical fighter, but she augments her mediocre combat skills with magic. This magic generally carries the blessing of light, allowing her to light up her blade whenever she wishes, giving it a searing edge, or to make it act like a minor projectile that can pierce through both objects and enemies. This projectile version is about the size of a large baseball, meaning it can be carried in the palm, but it is also a formless light source. Adrasa hasn't entirely mastered Trace, but it grows as she grows.

Act of Deliverance - Adrasa's personal fighting style. She was trained by a red-headed man who claimed that he never lost a battle. The Act of Deliverance is a single-handed sword style which relies on quick and powerful strikes to finish an enemy off in a single stroke, or to severely cripple/weaken them. Adrasa has been using the Act of Deliverance for a single year, and thusly, hasn't even scratched the surface of its hidden powers. The red-headed man, when using the skill, has had it referred to as "Slash Dimension," but he doesn't claim to be able to cut dimensions at all.

Survivability - Adrasa has been living on the streets for as long as she could remember. The only thing she's adept at is living, which includes speaking to others, hiding herself away, first-aid, and generally keeping herself alive in the worst of situations. If it wasn't for Adrasa's natural knowledge and experience living in the harshest conditions, she'd have been dead long ago.

Unblessed Soul - Adrasa's eye is covered for a reason. It is believed that she causes ruin wherever she goes, but that is only partially true. When Adrasa's eye is revealed, her latent magic potential because almost like acid to everything around her, causing things to crumble and fall apart as if they are turning ancient. It is a frightening ability, but it has, thus far, never killed a human. Those who have seen its effects on a living body don't leave unscarred, and while the damage can heal, it is a slow and painful process. She keeps her eye covered since she can't control what it affects and what it doesn't yet.

Blessed Soul - An ability Adrasa has yet to ever use or even understand. If releasing her magic in waves is destructive, and puts everything in to a state of ruin around her, then altering that flow will heal. Adrasa has the ability to heal, but since she's never done it before, it'd be quite weak.

Weapons :: Adrasa only carries a single sword, light enough to be used in one hand, but long enough to be held in two hands.

Weakness :: Adrasa is a weaker girl, unable to hold her own in combat for very long without the help of others. Her abilities lie purely in fighting from a distance with her magic, otherwise she might become a liability.

►▶▸ ρ ι я ι v α т є м α т т є я s

Personality :: Adrasa is a girl who likes to think about things as brightly as possible. She wants to protect others, even if they can't protect themselves, but she knows where her weaknesses are...even if she becomes something of a liability, she only wants to protect everything she cares about. That being said, Adrasa doesn't have much to believe in since she has been hated since her birth, but she never wants to think about things as darkly as they are. She has fears, doubts, and hates like everyone else, and even though she has more of a reason to hate, she very rarely displays this behavior.

History :: Adrasa was born in to a life where strife was the only thing in the world, and life was all that mattered. In this world, she was considered easy pickings since she was far too weak to truly act on her own. She had one edge over everyone else, however. When Adrasa was born, people considered her cursed to some degree. Her parents died shortly after she was born, both their bodies drained of their vitality and halfway to a corpse-like state already. She grew up with this ability, and no control over it at all until her body was bounce to prevent her latent magic for leaking out. When her eye was covered and bound, this stopped the destruction she caused, but the damage was done. She was referred to as a creature that wasn't fully human because of her inability to control her power. She saw the first expedition off, and when the time came for a second one, Adrasa was more than willing to join them. Life had become enough rougher, and she could not give solace to the ones that needed it most. Instead, she would fight in their stead despite being untrained and unblooded. It was one of her only remaining choices, after all.

►▶▸ є x т я α s

Secrets :: Adrasa's sword style is unpracticed, but it was given to her by a man who told her it just might save her life one day. She hasn't stopped practicing since then, and practically idolizes the one who taught her.

"The Light of Purity is all that will save us."

Borian dismounted as the gates were closing behind them. His new companion not to far behind. The light that shined from through the doorway was like the beacon of hope, always fading. Soon the two were shrouded in darkness, and the rumbling of the ground settled. A quick shuffling about and then a torch was lit and he handed it over to the girl. "Take this." Borian stated simply as he reached for another torch. He then looked at his horse and sighed. It was a magnificent creature, black as ash. Borian drew his mithril longsword and sliced its throat cleanly, giving it a quick death. "They will only attract the scavengers." His arm snapped forward and grabbed the reigns of the other horse, waiting for the woman to dismount before he sliced the throat of the horse she had ridden as well. "We will walk the whole way."

Borian was a giant man, towering much higher than an average man, his armor just as black as the horse he had ridden, his helm covering the face that was clearly marked as someone who had seen this place before. He was already looking about, this way and that. No scavenger would come this close to the entrance, but he knew that they were already watching from the darkness. He couldn't leave the girl blind however, so all Borian could do was keep on his guard at the moment. He slipped his enormous backpack onto his shoulders once more. It carried the equipment he had requested. Twenty torches, a months word of basic rations, rope, pitons, a hammer, and a crowbar. He didn't know what his companion brought, but he knew he would be able to get them through pretty much any task with these essential pieces of traveling gear.

"... I will keep this maiden safe until we reach our salvation."

Adrasa| Wielder of Light| Divine Gift

Adrasa rode in silence, contemplation clear on her generally blank face. Her eyes were downcast, visibly on the right side of her face. On the left, her eye was covered in bandages upon bandages, concealing it, and by "blessing," keeping her potential under control. She was covered in black robes, looking as a shadow to match the darkness that soon enveloped them. She was told to take a torch from her strange companion, and she silently complied. She turned her head away instead of witnessing the execution, briefly shaking her head upon observing the act. That was a fine waste, but she supposed it was for the best. She hadn't left before, so she wouldn't have known the intricacies needed to survive so soon. He mentioned they'd walk the rest of the way, and she only looked in his direction without saying anything before staring straight ahead. "Fine by me." She recited.

She traveled light, a pack filled with nothing but the essentials as far as she considered it. She was set with enough rations to ensure her own survival, rope and such sundries, and enough equipment to make a kit for medical care or two. Yes...even if the worst came to pass, Adrasa was going to survive. Clothing wise, she was equipped to handle weather above all else. She was provided with warmth, and a more comfortable movement range than plate armor would provide. Her cloak provided her a degree of protection from moderate weather conditions as well, but it was as basic as it got when you took it all in to consideration. The only thing on her meant for self-defense was the sword given to her by the stranger she'd met a year prior to this encounter. It hung by her side, clasped tightly enough to not fall from her, and easily in drawing range.

Adrasa took a deep breath and looked around just a bit to ensure they weren't going to encounter issues seconds after getting a move on. There were going to be more issues walking on foot than traveling by horse...of that, she was certain. After all, she was just a weak human compared to her companion, who had been out here for who knows how long. Adrasa wasn't nearly as trained as the strange man was when he left, and certainly not as strong since he'd returned. She didn't know what he was, or what she was to call him, or anything like that, but there were a few things she'd already accepted. She had a mission, and was to see it through. For everybody's sake, if not her own. It was all she could do, and all she knew...if her abilities were better used assisting others in this way, then she had no right to object. She happily put her life on the line, after all. It was just who she was. "Lead the way." She remarked dryly.

"The Light of Purity is all that will save us."

Borian nodded and turned, flicking his blade clean of the blood before sheathing it and walking forward, his strides carrying him forward. It only took him a few minutes before he spoke up. "Call me Wolf. I will be your protector for the remainder of this journey." Borian continued forward, already feeling the presence of the scavengers coming closer. They weren't hostile, but they would take the weak when they could. "Watch your step." Borian's heavy boot crunched against a brittle skull and if they looked down they would see rusted pieces of armor and bodies of the dead already scattering the floor. They were few, but Borian pointed them out anyways. "Ten minutes in and we were ambushed. First contact with the vile creature that lurk within the shadows. We lost thirty people at this spot."

Borian's boots had no respect for the dead, and he trampled through the bodies as if he was walking down a cobblestone street. "It will take us half a day to get to the other gate on the other side, we will take a break at that gate before I open it. After that we will travel until dark. I don't expect any trouble with the scavengers. They only attack when scared or think someone is weak, appear as large as possible and you will be fine." Borian's helmet turned to look at the much smaller woman. "Well... Maybe it won't make much if a difference even if you were to walk on the tips of your toes." Borian then stopped suddenly and hurled his torch forward. It clattered, sparked, then rolled over an edge. "Like I thought would happen, the scavengers dug a pit as a trap for the next expedition. You have rope?" Borian was already kneeling down and pulling out his own coil, tying a knot around a piton. Most thought it was the mountain that had killed off the expedition, when it was, in fact, the world on the other side of the gates that truly had killed them.

Adrasa| Wielder of Light| Divine Gift

"Fair enough." Adrasa remarked, not exactly in the mood for deep conversation or anything. "Just call me Adra" That was all he needed, after all. A name to call her by so they didn't refer to each other as "stranger" or something along those lines. She heard the sound of things breaking beneath Borian's feet and shook her head once, sighing as her steps become somewhat lighter so in case she failed to avoid stepping on something, she'd at least not crush anything under her feet. He mentioned those who were lost upon the spot, and personally, Adrasa found it difficult to care for what had happened prior so long as it could be avoided a second time. She was not as useful when she was dead, right? That meant staying alive, no matter what.

He gave her the amount of time they'd travel, and she nodded once. Only to turn and face him when it sounded as though he were mocking her height of all things. "I can handle myself. Let them attack if they want...they won't leave intact." Confident, but foolhardy to a degree. Adrasa was still a novice in the art of the sword, and she hadn't even mastered her own art just yet. She could do something, but not so much as to be a one-man army. He asked her if she had any rope and she only nodded in response, pulling the thick fiber from her pack. "I assumed that I'd need it eventually. I have enough for a few uses depending on how it's cut..." She didn't need all of it at once, after all, so the rope that she wasn't using was going to simply be sectioned from the rest with one quick slice. Of course, that was what happened last. She wouldn't shorten it unless she absolutely had to.

"Don't worry about cutting it... You won't need to use it." Borian walked over and looked at the rope. "That is a good rope." He grabbed Adrasa by the collar and hefted her up, his demon eyes shining through the helmet. He judged the length and the weight of Adrasa and after a moment he took two steps and commented. "Hope you know how to land after taking a tumble." Before throwing her over the chasm, sinew and muscle rippling underneath the armor at the strength needed to perform such a feat. As soon as Adrasa was out of his hands he looked up to the ceiling, judged the height and then went over to the piton for his rope and began to spin it. A whistling sound echoed through the cavern and then a loud crack as the piton smacked into the stone ceiling far above.

Borian tugged on his rope twice to make sure that the line was secure. A quick nod and he took off, quickly swinging across. Then he gave a tug on the rope and gathered it up quickly before turning to Adrasa. "You alright?" He asked simply, a grin on his face. It was fun to toss the shorty so soon, and whether she liked it or not, he certainly had fun doing it. Was very rare you could successfully toss another human so far, and this was one of those rare times.

Adrasa| Wielder of Light| Divine Gift

Adrasa was prepared to question him before he lifted her off the ground. She was quick to ball her fists in anger. "What are you...?" Her question was answered by him deciding to throw her across the gap. Adrasa stifled a scream and remembered that if she hit the ground, it was going to hurt. Instead she reached out her bandaged right hand to gauge her angle with the ground and distance. She hit the ground and her arm folded as her body tucked. She left a nice dust trail after skidding across the floor, and she landed generally safely, but because she got across with the minimal amount of recoil, she was able to draw her sword on what was instinct at that point. She stood to her feet and watched to see when Borian was going to be coming.

He joined her. sure enough, and she pointed her sword at his throat. "Don't you ever do that again. You just put me at more danger than you're going to protect me from. From now forward, you're to stay a blade's length away from me, understood?" Adrasa put her sword away, knowing full well that she was no threat to Borian, but it was clear that she was out of her comfort zone already. She wasn't used to extended travel, or fearing for her life every second and with every step she took, and she certainly wasn't used to air travel. With her sword sheathed, she crossed her arms over her chest and closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. Upon opening her eyes, she shook her head, fearing that she was stuck with a child in a giant's body. With a sigh, she spoke once more. "Let's continue. If we stay in one place, we become more of a target." She still sounded pretty indignant when speaking, but then, he had no right to toss her like a ragdoll.

Borian raised his hands up in mock fear. "You landed well enough, I don't see the problem here. However I will respect your wishes. I agree, we should continue." Borian would break that rule if she was in any true danger, but for now he would play along. He moved in front and continued scouring the darkness before them. Luckily Adra's torch was still lit for her. He took in a sudden deep breath, as if getting a smell for the surrounding area and he slowly exhaled. Nothing but scavengers. Borian turned to Adra and stopped, a sudden question popping into his mind. "Would you like to see a scavenger? There is a weakened one ahead. The others have yet to tear into him." A strange and morbid question as well as explanation as to why he asked the question. He simply wanted to see if the girl was willing to see an enemy face to face, and what her reaction would be to the natural life of the world. The city had been grey and disease ridden, he wondered how she would react to the scavengers who had more coloring than an entire city.

He turned back towards where they were heading and seemed to simply stare into the darkness. Borian wouldn't waste another torch to further their seeing difference, plus having one so close to his eyes made him blind to the darkness.

Adrasa| Wielder of Light| Divine Gift

"It's not a matter of how I landed. The problem..." Adrasa paused for a moment, deciding to let it go this time around. She swore she was letting him off far too easily, but they were supposed to be in this together...they were partners, so she was going to treat him with at least a modicum of respect. While they continued, he asked her if she'd like to see a scavenger...and Adrasa couldn't help it. She was curious to see what made these beings so terrifying. "If it has suddenly become prey then we'll have to keep this visit short. I don't want to be around when it gets mobbed." Adrasa would rather observe for just a short time, and then continue on with their mission. She didn't want the first brief distraction to be the last, after all. She liked being alive.

From those words she spoke alone, it was obvious that Adrasa felt no fear, nor apprehension, but she was also wise enough to know that she was no threat to unnatural beings. The faster their mission was complete, the faster they could return alive. She wasn't afraid to put her life on the line, but she wanted to do so sensibly. Death to something stupid would make whatever "blessing" she was given entirely pointless. "Weakened or not, it should be executed when we're close enough to manage that much. The smell of wounded might be enough, but silencing whatever cries it makes will keep others away for just a bit longer." It was less of a matter of the noise it made rather than Adrasa fearing that "weak" was entirely different than "dying." Her arms and legs briefly trembled, but she would stand firm. If it was going to bite, then she'd bite back...naturally.

[[And more interaction means more interesting stuff happens! But don't blame yourself. I think everything starts a bit slowly until something spikes it.]]

"The Light of Purity is all that will save us."

Borian nodded and walked forward into the darkness ahead, the sound of his Iron Zweilhander ringing out in the silence. "The creature is secured, he won't be attacking any time soon." As soon as Adrasa's torch lit the area she would see a creature covered in matted golden fur, it's canine like body lean and scrappy like the starved children of the city they had left behind. "There are many types of scavengers, this is only one. They attack in groups assorted by color. This one is of the gold kind, some golden ones have black or brown speckles throughout their fur."[/b] The maw of the creature released hot breath, saliva dripping down onto the stone floor below. It had four legs, each with a small padded hand at the end, nails coming out of fingerless digits. The tail was whip like, a barb at the end. "Careful of the tail, don't get to close to it, The point carries a strong toxin meant for paralyzing you so the pack can eat at you while you do nothing. It seems this one is dying of starvation." The creature could have easily struck out, if it wasn't looking at Borian with a paralyzed expression. It let out a high pitched whine of clear fear, as if it recognized him. Borian didn't speak to Adrasa in his next dialogue. "I knew your father, we did battle against one another, he was a strong creature. It seems you do not carry his abilities however. Do not worry, for you will walk with your pack soon enough scavenger, released from the torments of this dark world."

Borian slowly stood from his kneeling position he had taken and took his sword in both hands, raising it above his head. The creature closed its eyes, and then the blade came downward with a heavy, powerful ringing against stone, unyielding as it bit into flesh and bone, blood spraying onto Borian's armor. A simple decapitation was all the creature deserved. He set his blade aside and moved over to the tail, ripping off the stinger and grabbing a vial from a hidden pouch in his armor, sticking the deadly toxin into the vial before bottling it back up and moving back to his blade. "Any further examinations you wish to do? The first time is when they are the most beautiful."
"... I will keep this maiden safe until we reach our salvation."

Adrasa| Wielder of Light| Divine Gift

"Paralysis, hmm?" Adrasa watched the beast carefully through her revealed eye, assuming that, true to their name, these beasts lived off the food they could gather, and when one failed at that task, their fate was a painfully slow end. The bandaged girl's eyes were entirely expressionless as she observed the last few moments of its life, and its death. She didn't say much of anything when Borian asked his question, only checking to see the ins-and-outs of what they might be encountering more of later on. "No more questions." Adrasa stood back up and dusted off her cloak, wondering just how lively these things were when they were full if they still had just enough strength left when they were running on empty. They were, truly, an intriguing species, but in the end they were beasts all the same. There was nothing more to them than that.

Adrasa pulled her hood down further and tightened the cloak around her body, making that characteristic sighing sound she had quickly taken to. "It's just food now. Let's continue ahead." Adrasa remarked, taking a hold of her sword's grip with even more ferocity than before. Her adrenaline was pumping already after seeing the creature, and even though she wasn't looking forward to encountering one, she knew it'd happen eventually. She waited until her guardian was a distance ahead of her before she untied the bandages from her eye. He was far enough away to not start feel the effects of decaying, or to see the body of the beast turn in to nothing but bone, and then to ash. She was sure to catch up with him so he wouldn't worry about her, at the same time attempting to tie her bandages even tighter as to not seem out of the ordinary. "...Do you know the exact distance from between here and our stop?" She asked inquisitively.

Borian, The Iron Clad Warrior

User Image

"The Light of Purity is all that will save us."

Borian had picked up his blade and cleaned it, walking forward. He only wanted the stinger. As he walked into the shadows the sound of his blade ringing against its sheath echoed throughout the quiet halls. Now it was totally silent, before they had slight scuffling sounds in the darkness, now there was nothing but the footfalls of the two. "No, I don't know the exact distance, however I can tell you that it should be about mid-day by the time we reach the other set of gates. That is if we don't have any interruptions." Of course they would have an interruption, right? Maybe, who knew with Borian around, it seemed the creatures knew exactly who he was and would not come near him. What had happened here that made them so scared?

-----------------------------------------------------

The two had reached the gate without hassle, and in much silence, maybe a few words here or there, but nothing of any real importance. Borian sat down and started opening his pack when a distinct chittering sound rang out from the empty halls. "Adra... Keep that torch lit at all costs, it's what will keep you alive." Borian drew his Iron Zweilhander and stepped forward, his eyes scanning the area. A whip like appendage flew out from the darkness and slammed against Borian's armor. From within his helmet a cough resounded and a spurt of blood sprayed out from the metal and his armor crumpled inwards slowly, the sounds of bones breaking and meat tearing away from its foundation could be heard. After a second of standstill of the vine-like appendage, Borian started to slowly slide to the side, quickly picking up speed and then being flung to the side, slamming into the wall, more cracking could be heard.

Borian's grip on his Iron Zweilhander went loose, but one hand slowly made it to the hidden pouch. A bottle with a needle in it. He felt the needle press into his flesh and his body relaxed for a moment before he could feel the damage reversing, his armor popping back out, and the blood dripping from inside the armor slowly pooling back up into the body. He reached up and tore off the helm. A neutral gritting mouth and eyes that glowed slightly orange. Underneath his skin, slight green pulses could be seen running up and down his body. The appendage came out of the shadows again, aiming straight for Adra. With a feral roar Boran launched forward and gappled the tentacle, stopping it dead in its tracks. One hand shot down a pulled out the mithril longsword and sliced through a part of the beast, black blood spraying outwards in volleys. "Nicked an artery." Borian muttered as his grip loosened for a small amount of time before strengthening again and ripping off the rest of the tentacle in a gruesome feat of strength. "Stay behind me Adra, this thing regenerates. I thought we killed it last time. It seems we didn't finish it off."

"... I will keep this maiden safe until we reach our salvation."
