Hollyhock stood up. "Then I will wait, and care for these children. But I won't love them," she said sadly.

"This is not much, but it is the best I can offer you, from my heart and the Swamp's: May your children only know searching and waiting as activities of pleasure and may the objects of their wanderings be worth the journey of life that they must take."
