PERSONALITY l Greatly influenced by her father's obsession with strange rituals and dark powers, Tarnished Offering is obsessed with trying to understand darkness through confrontation with those who carry around personal darkness: sorrow, fear, cruelty, rage. She herself is a creature filled with fear, self-loathing, and hate. She is brash and unforgiving, fascinated and repulsed in turns by the worst in all kin, and she runs headlong, daring the darkest kin to bring their worst against her because she needs to try and understand them. She thinks that if she does fight them, their darkness, in her understanding, then she might be one of them and that would be a confirmation of all her fears.

PERSONALITY l Filled with an incredible amount of self-loathing born of day after day of trying to prove her worth and failing, she hates her name and her form. She knows that she is strong and she runs herself ragged to try and prove to everyone in the tribe that she belongs there. She has so thoroughly repressed everything that, at this point in her life, she has lost her ability to feel much except the desperate desire to be respected as a Tidewalker. She is merely cold and affectionless, having decided that emotions are essentially worthless. Sometimes, at what she considers her weakest, she is filled with an almost crazed fervor barely masked by a practiced apathy.

PERSONALITY l She is brooding with a type of tenseness hiding under her skin. Self-possessed, stoic, and strong, but ultimately fair and kind-hearted, she’s a storm chaser who loves the thrill of running through the rain, lightning and thunder. She relishes the danger and lets it set her free where, in all else, she claims the control that echoes her father's charm. A simple doe above all else, with simple pleasures and simple needs, she is easy to get along with even though it might seem that all she ever wants to do is run with the storms.

PERSONALITY l Contemplative and introspective, Last Night once believed herself to be unaffected by anything, a drifter and wanderer who shed all things as easily was one shakes off the touch of the wind. For a while, that was true; she was tied down by no one and nothing. She looked at the world through her eyes, then others, but it was merely a different view. It changed her not. But slowly, through her interactions and evaluations, she has found herself affected, changed in a way that she could not have expected. She has discovered that, perhaps, change and to be changed is to truly live and that living unaffected is impossible and undesirable and that the creation of bonds is not the destruction of freedom.

PERSONALITY l He rarely speaks and when he does, his voice seems empty. Instead, he observes with his full, bright eyes rather than communicating with his empty voice, as if a void has replaced the spring of words within his soul. His quiet, watchful eyes are searching for meaning and find none, so instead, he searches for life and he judges, measures, and seeks to understand life through destruction. He isn’t sure if he believes that anything can truly exist beyond himself (and therefore his twin), even life itself, but believes that if he witnesses death enough times, perhaps he can find the truth because death is not truly death in the absence of life.

PERSONALITY l Sharp-tongued, but reserved, Rupture seeks security and freedom, something safe and dependable and something reckless and unexpected. She keeps things to herself, preferring to go about her life quietly, but she takes the emotional well being of her tribemates very seriously even if it doesn't always seem so. Her way is to provide and it will all fall into place. A member of the Mothers Club, Rupture spends much of her time hunting and gathering to make sure that everyone is well fed. In many ways, she looks up to her grandmother who learned how to bend and not break, to bond and not be tied down.

PERSONALITY l Unsure of herself, who she is, and who she wants to be, Farewell Smile is uncomfortable in her skin. She feels that it fits too tightly and that she is splitting at her seams. This constriction turns to rage and fear and loathing that builds up as a scream deep in her belly. She hides it though, or at least she tries, with an edge of mocking. Not knowing what she wants, Farewell Smile plays into expectations easily, even as it chafes against her convictions and her desire to be her own self. She is both soft and prickly, sometimes all too eager to be "your perfect doe" and at other times choking on the idea of being an actor in someone else's story.

PERSONALITY l A little too observant with not enough filter, Hidden Guilt tends to see more than he wants to. He cannot help but put two and two together, can't help but feel what he perceives others to be feeling. He has constructed a cage for himself crafted out of the bones and sinew of guilt, fear, and tragedy that he observes in others. Since his naming, he has found it more and more difficult to observe the good in others and is now stuck seeing all that is sordid in the lives being lived around him. Caught up in this world of personal darkness, he seeks oases of goodness, wisdom, and calm, those who are what they seem rather than masks for guilt and shame. He finds those personalities irresistible and, though he knows that he is filled up with too much blood and horror to be one of them, craves to be changed by them.
NAMING STORY l
Even the most militaristic of totoma tribes, used to blood, killing, and death, do not condone pointless slaughter. Certainly, some members will be more sadistic than others and to some extent, almost all totoma are bloodthirty in their own way, but to kill within the tribe, outside the confines of a fair fight, to break honor and slaughter using the trust of tribeskin as a weapon, that is too much. So when it is determined that the killer of those young, unnamed totoma, still growing into their strength, must be one of their own, tension and suspicion ran high in the tribe. The dead totoma had not been given a chance to fight or to forfeit, their deaths had been meaningless and honorless, more so for the killer than his or her victims.

And so, when it became clear that no tribesmember was going to step forward and take responsibility for their heinous actions, a council was called and all the tribe gathered together. Each and every totoma stood quiet and still as the details of the killings were laid out, accusations were made, but none held true until one unnamed totoma came forward. He had been watching with dark, quiet eyes his fellow tribesmembers and when he turned to face the killer, he spoke quiet, but strong, pointing out the means and motives that gave weight to his accusation until the other totoma, unnamed as well, lashed out in fury while pronouncing his guilt. The totoma who had found the killer took the attack as a challenge and calmly accepted it, and in the honorable fight, the other totoma was killed, but he was not named nor was he mourned. A tribe elder approached the victor, himself guiltless of any crime, and spoke, “You fought honorably against one who lived a life of dishonor; you discovered his hidden guilt.”

He would learn to resent this name for it colored his very existence in the guilt and shame of others, but at that moment he was proud.

PERSONALITY l Reserved and not prone to physical altercations, First Blood observes. She values strength of mind more than strength of body and holds disdain for those who choose to settle all matters physical. That is not to say that she does respect an honorable and reasonable battle, but physical fights are not her answer of first resort. She is not unlike her kind though, for she too takes her honor as a matter of life and death. She simply prefers to express herself with more reserve and thoughtfulness. She can often be found watching others, trying to glean some new insight that she can transform into a valuable nugget of knowledge.
NAMING STORY l
She was never naturally inclined battle or warfare. That was not to say that she did not fight and win, but she herself never challenged her fellow totoma to battle. When she fought, she was skilled from watching and she was quick of might, but she lacked the strength that came from repeated combat. The first time she challenged another totoma to a fight was the day that she gained her name. And older, more experienced totoma had approached as she stood amongst other unnamed totoma and singled her out for not trying hard enough to preserve her honor, for not trying hard enough to prove herself, and there was nothing worse than a totoma who let their talents go to waste, even one who lost every fight.

As one who prided herself more on her intelligence, something she cultivated quietly, she resented that the older totoma thought her unworthy of respect and incapable of honor because she chose not to fight, so she stepped forward and challenged him. She did not expect to win, even when a creative strike caught him on the shoulder and stained his pelt red before he had managed a true blow on her own body. Her expectations were true and he forced her, through superior strength and experience, to relent, but when the fight was over he approached her and spoke with a newfound respect, thoughtful, “You may have lost, but you drew first blood. Well met.”

And thus she was named.

PERSONALITY l Playful, coy, and flirtatious, Dogrose takes very little seriously. Life is, to her, a game. She will flirt with anyone as long as they are receptive to her attentions. A little prone to vanity, she's easily taken with those who are willing to compliment her. However, don't take her high flying, carefree nature as stupidity. Behind her quick compliments and easy flirtations is a sharp observer of others--a necessary trait for a storyteller. While she comes off as open and easy to know, in reality she gives nothing away except for an impression and a smile, small tokens from a doe who keeps her real valuables close.

PERSONALITY l Strange, a little taciturn, and tending towards lies rather than truth, not because he doesn't believe in the truth or likes to lie, but because he doesn't think that speaking from personal truth, or not telling lies, actually gets to the truth, Wages of Sin spends most of his time alone. The truth is beyond belief and beyond words and is perhaps found in the lies we tell. While not particularly easy to get along with, Wages of Sin is no misanthrope, he just sees other kin differently. He is ponderous and patient and can have a gentle touch, like his father, but he tends not to find himself in situations where he needs to use it.
