Prompt 1: The Old Mountain Delicate Beauty 1/3 (502)

After being told of a story of stones that would keep you warm in the cold and cool in the heat, she didn't believe it. There couldn't be one of those around. Deciding to figure out this story, the kiokote took it upon herself to find the answer. She followed the trail that was suppose to make it to the stones. The kin tracks disappeared but the other critter tracks stayed. "What is this?" Before she knew it, Delicate Beauty had found it.

She stood, staring at the stones. Never before had she seen them, though there they were. The area seemed familiar, but it wasn't. Not in that way. Edging up to them, she looked closer to see if they told a story or something about when they came to be here. Nothing but the weather seemed to have touched these stones. "What are these doing here?" She glanced about the open field, yet no sign seemed to show anything passed through the stones. Every mark seemed to be on the outside, like nothing was allowed in.

To make sure, the pink doe walked around the outer area. All tracks seemed to veer off at one point or another. The closest looked to be, well, her hooves. They are the only ones to go up to the stones themselves. She looked at them closer, trying to get a sense of them, but nothing came along. "I must be missing something." She took a break trying to figure it. Plopping her rear against a stone that had sun blasting on it, there was no heat. Not a single speck was given to her pink butt. "What in the?" She turned to look at it. Turned to look back up at the sky where the sun was blinding her eyes as she looked towards it.

With a curious look, Delicate went to the one were the sun was on the opposite side. Expecting it to be cold, the Kiokote doe slowly lowered her rear down. Not only was it warm, it was HOT! Jumping from the stone, she went to cool her behind on the grass. "Why is that hot and the other cold, when they are in the opposite environment?" Pondering it, Delicate walked to each stone in the shaded area. They each gave off a different temperature. "I wonder if they work in the rain the same way? How do they know to change?" So many questions and only her around to find the answers.

She looked at the one that gave off heat. There was no smoke to show it was heated by fire, so what was making it? Having a gut feeling, Delicate dug in the ground. She moved far enough away that it wouldn't disturb the stones as she dug. Deep, to the point it seemed the Zikwa would live there. She found the answer. Weeks of digging, since she did have to find food, the secret was in front of her. And she wouldn't say a word.

Prompt 4:The Three Horn Delicate Beauty 2/3 (500)

After leaving the stones. The stones that still settled on her mind, Delicate Beauty went to a different part of the swamp. This season seemed to be the time to explore. With little thought of the on goings around her, the pink kiokote doe made her way to the heart of the swamp. She didn't know it was the heart when she arrived. The ground seemed to be cooler the further she went. "Those warming stones would be nice right about now." High stepping to keep her blooding pumping heat through her. "Keep moving girl. That is all you have to do."

The lake came up in front of her, looming large as she stood still. It was solidly frozen. The ice on the edge told her that much with their thickness. A bubble popped in the middle of the lake. Dainty hooves placed on the frozen lake to step forward. creeeek It sounds like the ice is not as solid as she thinks. Looking down at her hoof, there are no cracks to be seen. Another bubble pops from the center and curiosity gets the best of her. "I have to find out what is there." Though the noise made her think about going with no secure way to get back, Delicate went to tie a vine to her body.

Hours of fighting to get the vine just right on her, the doe was ready to get back on that ice and find what is going on in the middle of it. Small steps at first, with some groans as the ice adjusts to her weight, and she to the slipping on said ice. Halfway to the bubbles, the vine snags on something. Looking back along the vine, it twisted enough to stop her. Determined to not go back, Delicate bucked, hoping the vine would loosen up to let her keep going. The first, second and third buck did not work. Instead it seemed like she was doing more damage to the ice she was standing on. "One more time." She bucks, the vine gives her enough slack to keep going and the cracks stay the same.

To close for comfort, she moves faster to get to the hole. More bubbles appear and she can't see where or what is making them. A little mess along the edge of the hole, made her wonder. Taking a deep breath, for the cold of the water and to see, she ducks her head into the hole. Sure enough, fish scatter away from her pink nose. A grin spreads across her face as she goes to snap up a couple. Pulling her head out and heading back to the solid ground, Delicate searches for a sunny spot to dry off and eat her meal. Seems like the center of the lake is a fishing hole, at least for her today it was. "I must remember how to get here. At least next time when i am in the mood for fish."
