THE WINGED ONE: Twelve stars form a constellation you've never seen before.

Though it was night, it was not dark. The moon was out, shining brightly tonight with no clouds in sight to obstruct its light. Fat and heavy, full, it shaded the Swamp blue, cool, dreamlike perhaps. If someone said that to Through Your Eyes she would have laughed at them though. It was just the moon, no more, no less. She was not ungrateful though, it had only been to her advantage that that the moon was out tonight and she rested now with her prize.

The half eaten carcass was a still warm, steam rising faintly from the open, bloody side. She was in no rush to continue eating though meals were always best hot; the boar was much too large to serve as a single meal. Despite her satisfaction, if any tried to take it from her, they would be met by a nasty surprise because this doe had teeth.

She was sated though, full and content as she lounged on a smooth, comfortable rock, a wolf who had its fill. She was never kind, but she was in no particular rush to seek her own peculiar brand of fun and so what she felt was probably as close to kindness as she could get--the kind of kindness that was a predator letting a meal pass by out of boredom and complacency.

She wondered if there were any out there tonight that she could sink her teeth into, not literally, just for fun. She never could quite pass up the opportunity.

Starlit Vow was adoring this night. Tonight, with the moon so full and bright, one would think it the "main event" of the sky, but no, not Vow, not tonight.

His grin was of an almost child-like glee, this night was special. Vow had found a whole new constellation in the bright and clear sky. It's wonder rushed into his mind with such rare vivid detail, he could scarcely think of anything else! In between bursts he wondered if it was indeed a constellation new, the stars aligning just so for the first time or weather it had been there all along, waiting for the right moment to speak out to him, to tell him it’s great tale. Oh and what a tale it was!

It had been nearly two cycles of the seasons since he’d last been enlightened with a new constellation, having learned of most others during his foal years when he’d most needed their guidance. It was indeed a special night and usually Vow would be saddened that he hadn’t company on such an occasion but so bursting with excitement and glee, he was just about ready to shout out to the Swamp it’s self should he find no other.

But as he wondered, almost trotting in excitement with his eyes stuck skyward, Vow didn’t realise that he had found company.

Starlit Vow might not have been paying much attention to the Swamp he was traveling through, but someone else was.

"Watch your step," Through Your Eyes snapped at the offending buck, but she was smiling, teeth sharp and out to place. Her smile was far from kin though and her eyes were sharp. "You live on the ground, not in the sky so you'd do well to watch the ground. That is, unless, you're keen to die."

"Then, by all means, do continue. I don't take kindly to those who disturb my kills," she invited, voice smooth and haughty. Her words seemed like a joke, but there was a touch of danger in the threat that would make any kin a little unsure of her intentions.
