Rocket then wagged her tail at Nero before she picked up the kitten in her mouth gently and looked up at Nero wanting to keep the poor little thing. She knew the kitten wouldn't last two days in its current state of hunger and tiredness. She whimpered hoping Nero would stay yes to keeping the kitten.

Gently taking the kitten from Rocket, Nero looked it over, sighing softly, knowing what she wanted to do. "Alright, the kitten can stay, I'm not fond of felines, but I'll make an exception for you, Rocket. But, you got to keep it out of trouble, okay?" Nero asked her, petting the small kitten, before giving Rocket the same attention. Making his way back home, he cleaned the kitten up, then let it explore the house.

Rocket barked as she was told to keep the kitten out of trouble. Once they were home, She kept an eye on her new baby. The kitten stayed close to Rocket, feeling a connection with the mutant wolf hybrid. Caramel, as she was later named, looked around but came straight to Rocket like she would her mother. Rocket pawed at the kitten gently playing with her. Caramel, being as small as she was, was obviously a runt and was lucky that she was alive. Rocket kept a watchful eye on the little one so she could keep Caramel out of trouble. After Caramel was finished looking around, was fed and warmed up, she was napping next to Rocket purring softly as she slept and Rocket curled up around her baby. only getting up to play or get food and water or to do her business outside.

Nero let Rocket and Caramel have some times to themselves, during that time, he took to a small shrine, to do a bit of meditation. After a while, he headed back to the house, finding Caramel and Rocket asleep together. Making sure to not wake them, Nero walked to the kitchen, setting some water to boil, so that he could make some green tea for himself. Once the water was at the right temperature, he made the tea, then went back to the den, the sounds of an approaching storm could be heard outside.

Caramel, smelling the tea, woke up and went to see where the wonderful smell was coming from. When she saw Nero, she titled her head before she went over to Nero, jumped into his lap, and laid down looking up at him with her icy blue eyes which only made her look really cute.

Looking down at the tiny kitten, Nero ran his hand down her back lightly, "I still can't figure out how you got up here, being a runt and all, yet you have a fighting spirit, I don't think you were going to give up so easily." He said softly to Caramel, just as a loud clap of thunder hit, followed by a down pour. Taking a sip of his tea, he sat quietly, listening to the sound of the falling rain, since he was going to be able to go out for a while.

Caramel purred as she was pet. She didn't have a collar but she was well behaved. She was abandoned with her mother, who died of starvation. She was even litter box trained. Rocket then came trotting into the kitchen, having been woken up by the loud clap of thunder. She sat next to Nero and laid her head in his lap with Caramel nuzzling Rocket's nose. It was obvious that Caramel felt she owed Rocket her life and wanted to be loved. Rocket licked Caramel's nose wagging her tail in a motherly way. Caramel just purred as she was pet and cared for by Nero and Rocket.

"Hey there girl, did the storm wake you?" Nero asked Rocket with a smile, as he ran a hand down her neck, watching Caramel nuzzle her nose. It was interesting to see how quickly the kitten had taken to her, Nero had to admit, it was adorable and unusual as well, but they were a trio of oddballs. There were stranger things in life, this was just a small one, yet he was happy to be part of it.

Rocket's tail wagged as she sat with her new family. Caramel nuzzled Nero's other hand sweetly, purring softly as she was pet along with Rocket. Both animals were very loving towards Nero and only wanted him to be happy.
