Jory was actually content to stand back and let everyone else face off against the scareling. It just seemed...wrong, despite the kid's obvious strength. It was something of a reminder to Jory of his youth, so he kept his distance, lips pressed into a thin line. The nap Zaire wanted actually sounded like a wonderful idea at this point, and the afanc was more than happy to go along with his boilfriend back to one of their dorms to curl up for the rest of the afternoon.
After they finished up here, that is.
Skullpins were thrust into the fish boil's unwilling hands, and he just stared down at them for a long moment before looking up again and glancing towards Zaire. This, at least, wasn't violence.
Shoulders squaring, he made an attempt at fastening one of the pins to the over-sized, multiplied...scareling. An unsuccessful attempt. Something heavy swung over the boil's head, and he jerked back and away, very nearly dropping his remaining to pins along with the first.

As soon as Maddie's pin strikes the boil-copy that makes up Rabbit's left leg, he starts to shrink, subtly at first, then more quickly once Keen gets in a couple of shots. By the time Emily, Marcy, and Camilla land their pins, the boil is well on his way to normalcy. Of course, this is the moment when Kenner chooses to return.
He emerges from the forest with what looks like a NERF gun, and that's because it is one, specially modified with rapid firing capabilities. He is silent as he shoots his nephew haphazardly, every one of his shots but one going wide. Still, the students have hit Rabbit enough, and his copies shrink and fall away as a result.
"I WANNA GO TO THE BALL PIT!" the boil shouts as his final copy disappears. He jabs his hands onto his hips, seemingly unaware that he's riddled with skull pins.
"Fine," Kenner replies through gritted teeth. "We can sneak in the back."
The boil brightens instantaneously and hurries back toward the dorms, his loud YAYYYYYYYYY receding the farther he goes.
"BUT WE'RE EATING HERE!" Kenner yells after him, clearing his throat as he turns back to the class. "So, yeah! Thanks. And all that. I hope you... learned something?" He shrugs. "I'll try to hold that apartment class soon!" Kenner touches the outside of his shirt pocket, pressing something inside it right before he disappears with a faint buzz. Those in his immediate vicinity might hear an abrupt 'ow' as he goes.

Zaire's skullpins hit the ground, and a few seconds later Jory's slipped through his own pale fingers. Others were darting in around them, more successful then either of them, and as a hand came to rest on his back, the boil leaned into the touch. It didn't sound like an awful idea, honestly. This was the last class of the day, and Jory didn't have much homework, which meant Zaire had even less. He debated in silent contemplation for a moment or two, but after a moment a little smile cut across his lips and he gave the tail around his a little squeeze. "Alight."
The smile turned into a grin, and he braced himself, knowing full well he'd find that thick and scaly tail around his waist in a second, dragging him back towards the dorms.
