Spring time had set in comfortably, though of course in the mountains and forest it took a great deal longer for the temperatures to start rising, and with it came a good deal of mud and rain.
It was one of those win lose situations in Ray's mind, though she much enjoyed the warmer temperatures, and not having the constant threat of frost bite.
This of course meant she got to utilize the platform more often too. It proved big enough to suppose both herself and her new human companion, a young man named Lin, keeping them out of the mud when they slept.

Over the days Ray had brought up the discussion of plans for the shelter that they would build within the trees, and after a couple of trips into town, she had picked up a few books on construction to give them a better idea of what they would be doing, and what they would need. It was a great way to occupy her time in the cold weather, and more and more she was enjoying having a human companion to converse with. Not that she didn't appreciate her Pokemon any less... not even close.

"You hold the list" Ray spoke, reaching an arm out and handing Lin the small booklet with their list of hardware they would be looking for.
It was a beautiful morning, and they were not forecast for weather at all that week, So Ray and made up her mind to collect Lin and the pokemon, and head back into Town for a supply run, possibly stay at her apartment for a bit while she sold off the last of her belongings.
Pushing her way through a thick splay of brush, coming out on the far end where the treeline stopped, and was replaced with a long spance of grassy hills and dirt road.
"Ah- here we are, We just need to follow this road toward the east and it'll drop us right off at Sagestone."

Lin was happier when he was in a tree; climbing or sleeping, both were better done off the ground, and so he was pretty happy they had the platform. The warmer temperatures returned more life back to the forests along with mud and rain, so he was happier about that too.

Lin, had, in fact, been in a rather good mood, and Jeeves and Acorn, who were constantly out and nearby (the latter due to the lack of pokéball as much as just enjoying being in human company), seemed to share in the pleasant mood.

He had been pleased to talk about construction and looked forward to building with Ray, but he was glad when she read the books and told him what she'd read. It wasn't that he couldn't read, but he couldn't read well, or, at least, very fast. The boy was much more a 'learn-by-doing' type than a 'read-and-learn' type of person.

"All right." Lin agreed, taking the booklet, and then frowning at the list. He, at least, knew what this all said without too much trouble, but he liked to reassure himself.
"How long do you think we'll be in town again?" He grumbled about the idea of going sometimes, but when he asked such questions, there was often a little spark of interest mixed with apprehension. He didn't particularly want to be in a town, but he wasn't exactly displeased to be visiting either.

Sporting her natural green jacket, the straps along her shoulders that she normally kept were pokeballs vacant except for a single dark ball, and the tall neck of the jacket folded down neatly out of her face.
Her face was void of the heavy make up she usually wore when she wasn't out in the woods, having gone all winter without worrying about it, though it gave her and older more tired look to her half lidded but observant eyes.
She was a strange person, that much she knew, and she wasn't even in the opinion that her makeup was to make her look any less strange. Quit the contrary.

Her hair was done back as it usually was though, keeping it as contain as she wished it. she turned to her side where her human companion was walking, the slightly shorter dark haired boy. "Ah- well If things go well I can't imagine we'll be there longer then a couple of days." She replied "But then again you don't always plan for things to go completely well." she pointed out "Less then a week if I can help it, Its a lot of wrapping up thought, so we shouldn't have to come back for much else after this visit."

At her other side, Double Stripe, her longest of Kodo companions was slithering a long beside her, coiling his head back and looking from Ray to Lin with a bright emerald eye.
Ray grinned wide at the boy's grumbles, and reached a hand out to clap it over his shoulder, tugging him closer as she gesture with her other hand toward the town "It'll go by quick! Sell of a few more things! sleep indoors for a change, then get a supply run done. We'll need tools, some hardware, maybe some food- oh and sweets, DS won't let us get very far without sweets." she finished with a wink to the Serpirior

The snake replied pointedly

"Less than a week sounds good... and I /suppose/ it'll be kind of nice to sleep somewhere without the chance of finding a bug or something on my face, but.. everything's coming alive out there now and I'm already missing it, you know? All the /green/! It feels like we're missing the world waking up by coming here now..." Lin tried to explain, though nodded his agreement, especially as Ray mentioned about DS and sweets.
"Ah. I guess that /is/ a perk too. He's not the only one with a sweet tooth, and berries don't always fill the need... I can't wait to really get going on building too..."
