Adrian:
- No matter how tough he tries to look, he really isn't. Adrian doesn't have the heart to come off as an a*****e, even sarcastically. At least, not to other humans.
Seeing as he's only had experience with destructive and unfriendly FEAR-based creatures (as of signing up), he has a distaste toward all of them by association.
Usually, he'll speak what's on his mind. However, he tends to sugar coat the opinions that might be taken offensively. He just wants to keep a civilized relationship with as many people as he can, if he can't actually develop a friendship.
In dangerous situations, he's highly likely to put himself in harm's way in order to protect a comrade. The choice of Moon Division was never a tough one.
Kenyon:
- Soft spoken, to the point of being timid most times. A commanding tone coming from him is extremely rare. Ninety-nine percent of the time it is because Adrian's life is in immediate danger, and he's not listening to warnings. This isn't to say he isn't talkative! He just has an ideal "inside voice" more or less.
Loyal and accepting. Taking his species into consideration, imagine an obedient pet wanting to please their Master to the best of their ability. Adrian isn't just his bonded, in Kenyon's mind, he is Master and he wants Adrian to be proud of him!
Friendly! If he weren't, you know, a weapon... Kenyon would be all for making friends with everyone who would tolerate his awkward and childlike self. Even if he's doing the dog thing and playing ball or getting belly scratches. Especially belly scratches. He's a little bummed that he can only talk to Adrian, not that he has anything against Adrian, but with so many people around that he can't actually talk to? Adrian doesn't always want to be the mediator, either. That kinda hurts, ok.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
Adrian kinda got used to seeing weird things in his childhood.
When it first started happening, he'd be frightened by them and go crying to whoever happened to be his caretaker at the time. First it had been his parents, then when they couldn't tolerate a child that would have panic attacks, imaginary fears and nightmares constantly it was various foster parents. He moved around a lot, but the monsters followed him. Even if they weren't the same monsters, it was like he met them everywhere he went. He was forever unable to escape their constant taunting and torment.
As he aged, he learned that to speak out about the things he saw was what kept landing him in foster home after foster home. So, he kept the visions to himself. Some monsters were easier to ignore than others. Some decided to scar him when he was sleeping; sometimes even when he was awake. Deep scratches looked a lot like self harm to his foster family, no matter how much he tried to push their worries aside. He was a teenager at that point, and easily not believed. Instability was immortalized in his files, and everyone involved with him just assumed that this was another cry for help.
There were times in his mid teens where he lost days at a time. Medicated so heavily for hallucinations and depression that he couldn't even remember his own name. It was all bullshit. Adrian knew it from the start, but there was nothing to be done. Maybe he was crazy. Maybe the medications would help once everything leveled out. All of these doctors and his foster family wanted him to be healthy and he shouldn't hate them for that.
But he did hate them.
When the boy was granted some semblance of freedom, he'd taken it and ran. He had no destination in mind, no one he trusted enough to run to. Luckily, as fate would have it, he was barely left to his own wandering for a full day to question the why before he crossed paths with a person offering him escape from his old life. A way to fight the monsters that had been following him for as long as he could remember.
They told him he wasn't crazy. There were others like him.
The 'everything' he had to give up seemed to Adrian like nothing at all for what he could gain, and he couldn't agree quickly enough.
