The plains, desert, mountains, and caves live on in story and song. Many kin now only know their ancestral homes in the form of poetry and prose, but many also remember a different ground to sleep on. These kin left the lands of their birth to come to the Swamp and slowly, a feeling, low and dull, creeps up their bones and enters their heart: homesickness. It comes on slowly, but once it is recognized it can’t be ignored. Some had never stopped feeling homesick; others had thought the feeling conquered. Regardless, the feeling has overtaken the hearts of all kin who had once called another land their home.
These kin feel compelled to travel to the places they have left and pick up their hooves to do so. Many of these kin end up finding each other and travel through the Swamp together—they seek to satisfy their mysterious shared longing. Eventually all of these kin reach the edge of the Swamp and they begin to journey out of it, desire spurning them onward. Soon, though, they find that their joints seize, their vision dims, and the homesickness for their old homes is replaced with a need to return to the Swamp that they cannot ignore.
The Ache requires that they turn back.
Mechanics of WP10: Homesickness
This prompt only applies to kin who were not born in the Swamp. However, Swamp born kin may participate as observers of this strange, spontaneous phenomenon. This prompt can be answered solo or with friends!
To participate, create a new thread in the RP forum titled [WP10] (KIN1, KIN2, ETC.).
All kin who were not born in the Swamp have been overtaken by homesickness and feel compelled to travel to their old homes. However, when they try to, they are stopped by the Ache.
The Ache affects all kin who try to leave the Swamp regardless of their place of birth. It manifests as a physical need to return to the Swamp and cannot be overcome.

Information on the Ache
This is a short refresher on the Ache:
- The Ache is something that has always existed and has always affected all kin trying to leave the Swamp regardless of land of birth, but after this prompt, it will feel stronger still for a few weeks!
The Ache occurs when a kin tries to leave the Swamp and manifests physically and mentally to keep kin from leaving and drives kin of all kinds, not only Kimeti, to return to the Swamp.
Kin who were born outside of the Swamp but who then travel to the Swamp are immediately subject to the effects of the Ache upon their arrival and may not return to their homelands.
