Well, it was hard not to think of him: she was visibly swollen with children, again, and every step ached with their weight. This was a burden she was pleased to carry, though. Bruise had been a fine enough companion, for a night, and it was her second time carrying, so she was no longer unfamiliar with the journey that childbirth would be. She was a little more prepared, now, and though of course it was not identical to last time (she didn't want to think about last time, though to some miracle her offspring were all adults who worried and fussed after each other, now...

And, in a certain case, they'd been reproducing, themselves. She sighed to think of it but it was fine. Those children weren't little fillies and colts anymore, either. She herself was getting older, but, she thought, her travels wiser for it. She knew where she would be welcomed now.

And that was certainly a good thing.

Click to show. The tugging sensation that manifested low in her belly was still unfamiliar--not so much in substance, but in the way that it came suddenly, unbidden and foreign. Her own thoughts and desires, instincts, came suddenly too, but they emerged seamlessly from the well of her own thoughts and manifested themselves not as a force but as a suggestion. Though this was a feeling not her own, they were hers to feel now, something new to experience and to learn from.

She knew what it meant now: an expectant parent nearby, in some way seeking her though they might not know it consciously. She took one last look at the web she had woven--she had more control over their design now--and followed the pull, knowing without knowing where to go. That, at least, was familiar. It was as if the Swamp spoke through one's hooves and led where you were meant to be.

Last Night smiled softly, part of the vast web of her mind reaching for Nose, while she watched for the source of her diversion.

Her senses weren't any more spectacular than the next kin but Path still couldn't miss the dark-colored kin moving toward her. If she'd been the type she'd have raised her hackles but even with the mistake that Brightroar had been she still trusted people. She liked to hear stories, was all.

And besides, the closer the dark doe got the more apparent it was that she looked familiar - there was something in the face, and of course the proud crown of antlers and soothingly familiar creams. Path quickly changed course to meet the doe, curious enough that she couldn't bear to stay where she'd been any longer. And the doe was - almost certainly - looking back at her, too. "Hello!" she called.

But she drew to a stop, too, a little confused. There was something about this doe...a sort of gravity. It was like - well - she thought back to the battle of the tribes, and the esteemed stags and mares she'd caught only glimpses of, and only in passing. "I'd remember meeting you," she said, quieter. "But still, you look...very familiar."

After a pause, she tilted her head. "Sorry - I'm I Walked Across. Some call me Path." Or Walked, she thought, but she didn't like the thought of the name anymore.

(It was safe to say she was no longer thinking about Bruise.)
