The Violet was floating on air, sparkles and glitter trailing in her wake while her little tiara remained fixed in her hair. Prom was everything the books promised it would be for the Violet and she intended to ride it out for as long as she could. Her two dates remained as lovely accessories on either arm for the rest of the Prom night.
But alas, it couldn't last and eventually they were told to go back to their dorms. She excused herself from her actual date and assured them that she had a lovely time but would like some time to herself now.
As she left the venue to return to the dorms, Ruth managed to tug herself back to some semblance of the way things are. The tiara was yanked off, the pins plucked out and her bangs immediately unraveled back to hide her eyes. It was interesting while it lasted, but let's be real, that wasn't who she really was. The gray hood of her gown was pulled over her head, and the shadow across her face was a welcomed friend. In fairness to the night's events, Ruth still wore the crown, albeit on top of the hood and possibly looking silly in the process.
That was alright, because she was headed for a certain flame demon's room. If Andrew didn't want to go to prom, Ruth was determined to bring prom to him.

Andrew had done everything he could to avoid prom. He didn't want to even think about prom. Music blared loudly from his room along with the heat that always radiated off of it. If it annoyed his neighbors that was too bad. he had chosen to buried himself in video games and blankets and was eating pretzels and bat wings all bought to have a mini self pity party. he was going to have fun and not think about prom at all. In fact he was already dressed down in PJs, shorts and nothing else. The blankets held in his heat nicely. The TV screamed with the death of another monster as he ran around and shot them on the screen. A nice comfortable shoot them up video game, with great screaming sound effects. Now if only he could get the Hex box to cooperate.

Ruth arrived at Andrew's room alone, having long shooed her two impromptu prom dates (oh she was going to miss them though) since having left the venue. She would have very much liked to have seen Andrew and Olivia together at Prom. They might not have danced but they also might have. She pretended in her mind that had they actually gone, they might have even won Prom King and Prom Queen.
The Shrinking Violet found this outcome unacceptable as it would put her standing as Prom Princess at a disadvantage and therefore not as special. Ruth told the Violet to shut up as she headed for the demon's door.
Even from the outside she could hear the blare of the music and the videogames' carnage. She wondered would her "boss" hear her if she tried to knock?
It was unlikely, but she tried it anyway.

It was hard to hear the knocking over the blast of the beat on his music but andrew expected it at some point. For a moment he thought about ignoring it... but then realized it might be an RN, demanding he turn it down. Fine... it was getting pretty late anyways. Andrew paused his game, got up and toned it down before answered the door, a blanket thrown over his head and horns. It might be unusual to see him with his wings pinned under a blanket but it was warm and comfy and the hall was not. Even so the blanket wasn't big enough to fully cover chest and belly, but he was in his room being a lump on a log. He didn't feel the need to put on a shirt since it was likely an RN or neighbor. But it was neither... instead he was pretty sure that was Blondie... in a really pretty dress. Grey as was her style but.... "Blondie?" why was she here?

There were a number of ways to identify Ruth in her prom dress. Mostly it was the shades of gray (while more than one certain did not reach levels of fifty) and the fact that the hood was obscuring her eyes. Which was a shame because they were absolutely glittering within the shadows. Some of the glow might have had to do with the pride the Violet was simply bursting with.
The smile widened when Andrew correctly identified her and a gloved hand rose to pluck the Princess Tiara off her hooded head. She held it out to him, expectant smile and practically radiating excited energy.

Somewhere Andrew was glad the number of greys did not reach fifty because that would be weird. And with the hood it would have made her look like a really weird stalker. "I'm not wearing that." Andrew once again misunderstood what was going on. Was she offering that to him? Trying to bring the party to him? He had to admit she looked nice. Practically sparkling.

One gloved hand pressed against her mouth as she silently laughed in amusement. The notion of seeing Andrew in her Princess Tiara would definitely be a sight to see (and record with her phone's camera) but she shook her head, still smiling before gesturing to herself with it. Surely he could pick up on what she was trying to tell him, right? This was one of the rare few times she actually wanted to be understood.

Andrew squinted and finally was starting to follow. "Did you get that from prom?" This would be a lot easier if the ghoul just actually spoke. But she did not talk ever and this was at times frustrating, like now.

A clap of acknowledgement and a finger tapped her nose, confirmation that he guessed correctly. She placed the tiara back on her head and held out her hands at him expectantly. She was grinning, widely, and thought it wasn't visible, her blue eyes were glittering.
Was she waiting for praise? Or was she hoping to be invited in? Or hell, was she asking him for a dance?

"You are really instance on this whole prom thing aren't you... Isn't it over by now?" he stepped back inside to grab his phone so he could glance at the clock. "It should be..." he glanced at the ghoul and sighed. it would be a shame to waste her dressed up all nice. The door was left open and in side his room a wick stared out at her, tail flaming as it seemed to be debating between bolting out the door or not. Also there was a shelf full of lighters. What was a flame demon doing with a bunch of lighters? Aside from that Andrew's room looked more like a small apartment than a dorm room, demons sure managed to live it large. A TV, a predator computer, a hex box, and a couch and a small kitchen wall could all be seen from the door way along with some doors that led off into other rooms. It wasn't large, all of the things were crammed into one space, but it was enough that the flame demon likely did not have to leave his room for days if necessary. (Which he sometimes didn't. Rain man rain.) "Do you want to go out to dinner or something then? I'll have to put on a shirt, but I'll take the newly crowned princess out." he would play into it a little. She probably wouldn't want anything in his room. Then again... she probably wouldn't want anything out either. She ate mush.

Ruth shyly look down at her pumps, nodding and shuffling her feet. She would have wanted to go inside but then how would that be prom? It's not as if she could manage to convince her boss to put up streamers and fancy lights. Not unless those lighters would be used. Alas, while the flame demon had no trouble with the heat, the reaper was not fireproof. Also she liked this dress and would prefer it remain free of scorch marks, thank you very much, self!
So she decided to take him up on his offer to dinner. The food at Prom was delicious but they were mostly meant to be eaten standing around. Not at all a proper dinner. Also they were so colorful and tasty and Ruth preferred her meals bland. She gave him a curtsy, though with the slits in her dress it made it look awkward and a tad risque, but this was Andrew and Ruth didn't quite see the boil that way. When she straightened up, she angled herself as if waiting for them to leave.
