Eclipse Wyverns are creatures born of humanity's fear of dark nights and omen-filled eclipses. They are creatures made of bound shadow and primal instinct, apex predators in their ecosystems. They begin life as dark, lurking monsters that eke out their territory with bloodshed and malice. When they come of age, they moult, transforming into beautiful golden-encrusted god-like beings that inspire terrible awe with their raw power and ability to call down the night. At every stage, they spread a Virus that weakens and instills a berserk-like state in foes that makes it easier for them to destroy their rivals and maintain territory. Rarely, when an Eclipse Wyvern fails to moult properly, they are caught forever between the stages, half gold-half black and all the more wild for it.
Natural Ability:Shadow Spore To augment her senses, Virion releases shadowy spores into the environment to enhance her sight, smell, and hearing. These spores act like a spider's web, enabling her to pick up on heat signatures, have extremely accurate sense of smell, and be more sensitive to sound. This is a passive ability, with spores constantly trailing away from her, as if she is always surrounded by a dark miasma.
Personality:
Virion has always been an outspoken, confident and proud person. She takes great pride in what she is - or was, as the case may be - and looks down upon other creatures, especially non-Miasma Village individuals. This makes her stand-offish and arrogant.
She's also exceptionally physical. Virion has no qualms about slapping, punching, slashing or otherwise expressing anger or joy with teeth and talons. And she's good at it too, talking with her hands, as her wing-arms end in functional hands she often uses in combat as well as general actions. When not in use, her wings stay tucked against her shoulders and look like a great ragged cape that trail a dark mist.
As she has failed to moult properly, the traumatic experience has left her a little... unstable. Not insane, per se, but definitely not well adjusted. Some equate her mood swings and tendency towards violence as merely a 'phase' teenagers of her race go through... but others aren't so convinced it's temporary. Coupled with her unpredictable, wild nature, Virion's developed a lack of respect for authority figures who demand attention without giving her a personal reason do so and frighteningly territorial behaviour - stay OUT of her space of you'll be beaten and bloody before you leave.
That said, she does have a few redeeming qualities - if you prove entertaining or useful or able to keep up with her, she's willing to tolerate your presence, possibly even be friendly.
She's a predator through and through, left unstable by some unknown event, and she's here to kick butt and take names. Beware!
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
A traumatic experience that Virion cannot quite remember when she hit puberty resulted in an improper moult and now she's caught between the two life stages of her people. The failure drove her to the brink of maddness and her wild nature has become a problem for the village. She was sent to Amityville Academy from Miasma Village to learn control and to further explore what the Academy had to offer to those of the newly released village.
FEAR Ability:
Virus Wave - As Gambler's Chance - Dark mist is gathered in her main hands, sparking in violets and blues, that she tosses before her. The globe of glowing smoke explodes, setting off a chain reaction of similar mist explosions, spreading a the frenzy virus through the area in the form of a smoky black mist. RP-aspect only: Opponents exposed to the virus become weakened, physical fatigued, and attacks cause more pain.
