two things for a first pic:
wheres the atmosphere?
and i think the planet has too little shadow on it - it should be darker on the poles...
oh an the shadow is to blurred, i think...

Mostly, the ones I do are in the style of reflection nebulae. Those are normally blue. Dark nebulae and emission nebulae would be different, I suppose.
don't think so realisticly in terms of their real color...
you remember the hubble picture
"Pillars of Creation"(or somewhat like that...) - in reality thy are red... and don't look so stunning
wink coloring is dependant on what you want to show - you just "shift" the light spectrum a little...
