NAME OF CLASS: First Aid 101 PROFESSOR NAME: Professor Cricket General information: A general overview on basic illnesses a student might run into, as well as symptoms and quick fixes to things like breaks and deep cuts while on the go! Each student is given a dummy to work on, though they may choose to partner up in fixing it. Mechanics: Roll 1 20-sided dice, what you roll is what your student gets to work with... Dice Rolls and What they Mean! 1-4 - Broken Bone 4-8 - Fever 9-12 - Heat Stroke 13-16 - Hypothermia 17-20 - Lack of Bodily Function (such as breathing, pulse, etc) - this is unnaturally so. After this, please roll 4, 4-sided Dice. Take into account their total and any repeating numbersTotal Results and their Meaning 1-6 - You do a rather poor job patching up your dummy, you might not want to try and heal anybody anytime soon! 7-12 - You do an average job, nothing extraordinary, but passable! 12-16 - Extra good work! Your student can now heal surface wounds!, but not repair HP! This means things like cuts and bleeding that might hinder another character can be patched up! What Repeating Numbers Mean No Repeating Numbers - You used just the right amount of supplies, good for you! Not wasteful at all. Repeating 1s or 2s - You didn't use enough supplies, that's rather lazy and Cricket obviously disapproves of it. Repeating 3s or 4s - You used too many supplies and that's wasteful! Naughty! Cricket might make you earn your supply rights back in a future class! If you work as a group, split up the dice between yourselves as evenly as possible. So if you're paired up, each person rolls a 10 sided dice and you add up the results to get your dummy! Then you split up your 4 sided dice to work on fixing it up! Bonus Mechanics:For every 3 times you attempt this course, your student may add +1 to their 4d4 dice roll's total to improve how well they patched up the dummy. YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN... - You are finished rolling both sets of dice and rping out the results. That means you have to START OVER to try again! You may do so in the same thread or a new one if you decide to attempt again at a later date. Kari stepped lightly into the classroom. It felt a bit silly that she was just now getting around to a beginner's class after having reached her second year at the school. Better late than never, she supposed.
Taking a look around the room, there were stacks of dummies lying across tables littered around the room. As her gaze panned toward the front, she spotted the teacher of the class. Professor Cricket, if she recalled correctly. She was the woman who'd been running the Scarentine's flower booth before with was destroyed. Hopefully this wouldn't have such a disastrous conclusion. Walking over to her desk, the ghoul gave a polite bow.
"Hi... I'm here for-"
"IS THIS THE FIRST AID CLASS?," a voice boomed from the doorway, causing Kari to jump in place. Turning while trying to regain her composure, she was met with a boil covered in shining scales and a pair of goggles hanging absently from his neck. Upon spotting Kari, a smile spread across his face and he darted forward. Kari wasn't prepared for the boil taking up her hand, nor was she prepared for his face being so close to hers.
"Hiya, my name's Steve! Are you taking the class too?," the boil asked, his tail swishing back and forth much like that of a dog's. "I'm, um... Kari... and if you mean the first aid class, then yes," the ghoul replied quietly. She wasn't used to anyone violating her personal space quite this much.
"Awesome, then we can do it together! Right?," the wyvern cheered before looking at the teacher for permission. Once given, he darted over to the dummies to get started.
"Ah," Kari gasped, rushing over before Steve could damage the dummies, "be careful! We need those to practice on!"

"So is this the dummy?," Steve asked excitedly. "That looks to be the case-," Kari paused for a moment, taking in the sound of rattling. Which was coming from the boil himself, or his scales, to be specific. Giving a cough to cover up how she'd been staring, the reaper continued, "A-anyways, our job is to fix up the dummy to the best of our ability."
"Easy peasy! We just have to put the arm back on!," he grinned, banging his hand down on the table next the the dummy's arm.
"Yes... I guess that would be a good place to start," Kari chuckled as the dummy jumped slightly with each bang. "As long as we don't break it. I would imagine that would automatically fail us both." This had the effect of Steve yanking his hand back.

"Alright... if memory serves, first we'll need a splint and some bandages...", Kari murmured, as she attempted to recall her studying she'd done prior to the class. She jogged over to the supplies table and picked up a long piece of wood. This would do nicely. "Bandages, Gotcha!," the boil shouted, racing around the room. Holding down her dress, The most Kari could see was an orange blur before Steve finally came to a stop in front of her. It took a moment for her to realize he was holding a huge mess of bandage in his hand. "This is enough, right?," he beamed. "Um... this is... more than enough," the ghoul replied, taking the clump of cloth from Steve's clawed grip. She grimaced at the sour look the teacher was giving them both for the amount of bandages they had commandeered. Carrying the pile back to the table, Kari set to work on wrapping the arm while she had Steve hold the splint in place. She tried to find some scissors to cut the cloth when it was modestly covering the injury so as not to waste materials, but she came back to find the boil had wrapped the rest around the arm, neck, and upper torso, making it look like a partial mummy rather than an injured patient. "Well, it's a bit much, but... we definitely secured the broken bone," Kari sighed.

"So, what now?," Steve asked as his tail began twitching. Kari looked towards the other dummies next to them. "I would assume we move on to our next patient," Kari answered, turning to the teacher for confirmation. She sighed in relief at the nod she was given. So they just had to keep going until the received approval.
The next one didn't appear to be as simple, though. Steve looked around the dummy on the table, and even lifted it up. "I can't find anything wrong with it!," he whined, crossing his arms and scrunching up his face. Kari grimaced, not being able to see anything wrong with the dummy either. Wasn't there some kind of clue to indicate the problem? Or did they need to guess?
Noticing a piece of paper on the ground, Kari picked it up. "Oh," the ghoul mumbled as she held out the paper for Steve, "it says this one's not breathing. Perhaps it fell off the dummy earlier when you were racing around before."
His only response was laughter and an 'oops'.

"For this one... I would say CPR's the way to go...," Kari stated as she walked up to the dummy with preparations to begin.
"That's pushing on the chest and putting air in the mouth!," Steve shouted. Before Kari could do anything, he began pushing down on the chest to the point that the table began to creak. "G-gently! Don't break it," she cried, her hands waving frantically to get his attention.
While he seemed too preoccupied with what he was doing to notice her, the table, and more importantly the dummy, where able to withstand his ministrations. After a few tense minutes, they were stopped and given a passable grade. Probably to salvage the table before it really did give way.
"That was fun!," the wyvern boil cheered. Kari only wished she could share the sentiment as she palmed her face.

"Oh no," Kari groaned as she found another paper lying atop the dummy, "this one's not breathing either." Just her luck.
"I can fix that easy!," came a reply that made Kari pale. If they weren't careful this time, they might actually get thrown out of the class!

Once more, Steve began banging on the dummy. Kari tried her best to make him slow down, but her words were drowned out by the thundering of his fists and the banging from the table bouncing off the ground.
They were stopped sooner this time, though the teacher looked pretty cross over the whole thing.
"Steve, you need to be gentle before you break something!," the ghoul complained as he tried to move on to the next dummy.
"But I am being gentle," came an oblivious reply.
Kari gaped. That was gentle?!

As they moved on to the next dummy, the first thing Kari noticed was how red it looked.
"It looks like you earlier," the wyvern laughed in reference to Kari's previous distressed state. Trying to ignore him, she put her hand to the dummy's head. Sure enough, heat was emanating from the dummy.
"It looks like this one has a fever." this would be simple enough.
"Does that mean you have one too?," Steve asked, leaning over the dummy in curiosity.
"What-," she was about to ask before realization hit. He just thought the red coloring on the face was natural. "No... the dummy's just red to indicate the condition. In any case, let's get to work."

"For this one, we need some water and a-," her words were drowned out when a cascade of water fell over her and the dummy. While it was indeed cooled off from the water, Steve's actions also had the effect of flooding the area.
"Let's try again," Kari groaned, suppressing a shiver as she slogged over to the next dummy. Steve just dropped the bucket he'd been holding and followed along.

The next dummy appeared to be red as well, but it was red all across its body rather than just at the head. Trying to hold Steve off, Kari took a look at the paper on top of it.
"It looks like this one has heat stroke," she murmured, sticking the paper on the edge of the table.
"Heat stroke? Why would you do that?" Kari stared at him for a moment before deciding it would be better to just ignore the question. It was just as well, since the boil had begun looking for more water.

"Wait!," Kari shouted before Steve could douse the dummy once more, "We need to apply wet clothes to cool the body down evenly!""Oh. Alright then." Setting down the container with a slosh, Steve swept over to the table containing washcloths. After gathering as many as he could carry, he raced back over to the table. Kari gently placed the wet clothes onto the dummy while Steve dunked his clothes and slapped them on as quickly as he could despite Kari's protests. While the end results didn't look pretty, the red began to fade. At least nothing had been broken. Quote: Success: 2/3 (+1 modifier for fifth try)

"Looks like another broken bone!," Steve called out from the next table. It wasn't hard to tell with the way the rib was poking out of the stomach area.
"Well, let's see if we have any more bandages."
"Oooh, I can get 'em!" Before Kari could stop him, he was off again.

It seemed that broken bones were the easiest to the pair to handle together. Steve came back with a mess of bandages as Kari managed to get the dummy sitting up. Holding him off until she had the rib situated back into place, his energy worked in their favor as he was able to zoom around the dummy and table to quickly wrap up the dummy's chest. Even with the surplus of bandages, the results looked pretty nice. "Well, that actually worked out pretty well," the ghoul smiled as she set the dummy's arms back down. "So does that mean we passed?," Steve asked excitedly. A nod from the teacher prompted a whoop from the scaled boil. Kari was still curious about something, though. "Steve. Why are you taking a first aid class?" The boil paused in his cheering to give Kari a puzzled look. "Creeple say I'm too reckless. Well... mostly mother. So I should learn how to fix myself and others!""Wouldn't it just be easy to slow down? Then you wouldn't run the risk of injury...," she started to argue, but the look of confusion deepening on his face only proved that such things, at least for now, were beyond him. "Nevermind.""So, where to next?," he asked, latching onto her arm. "N-next?!" She could only fathom what another class with the energetic wyvern would entail. Quote: Success: 3/3 Words Total: 1,793
