She was a passenger,
a wisp caught up in a great gust of wind.
It curled around her, carried her up and tossed her down.

Her limbs were not her own,
her body was not her own,
she was not her own.

She was a prisoner,
a swallowed breath drowned in lungs.
It enveloped her completely, making it a part of her
and her a part of it.

It swept her up like she’d always known,
turbulent, enduring, everlasting
until…

It set her down.

The wind had released her.
Feeling drew into her body,
Her numb limbs warming with life.
Life of her own.

Storm clouds spiralled in a vortex above her,
threatening to take it all back. It could. It would.
This had all been on but a whim's mercy.
It could take it all back just as easily.

"Live for now," It seemed to taunt.
"Until I will have back what is mine."
