[BPRP] Too Spooky For Me [Look Alive, Deathly Still]

Having finally fled their father's horrible haunted walkabout, Look Alive had led her brother far, far away from that horrible place. They were both attempting to calm down and remember that ghosts weren't real. They weren't. They absolutely were not real. Ghosts were not a real thing that existed. Taking a deep breath, the zikwa leaned against a tree. Something growled, a low, rumbling growl- and she launched herself a good few feet off the ground. This was the worst day of her life. The absolute worst.

"H-how d-did dad get into that stuff?" Deathly Still squeaked, shuffling fearfully after his sister. As bone chillingly terrified as he was, the zikwa had to admit, dad was good. Dad was REALLY GOOD. The doofy grin that had made him laugh all through his foalhood was a weapon of fear on that ghost tour, and Deathly Still shuddered at the memory.

"A-and that girl! Yikes!" Shuffling his hooves unhappily, Deathly Still followed a line of tracks with his eyes. At the end, there were some acorns! The smaller zikwa trotted over and helped himself to a few, desperate to settle his shaken nerves.

"I will never understand our father," Look Alive declared, stealing some of the acorns. "Or that lady he associates with. The only thing scarier than dad's creepy ghost tour is dad's romantic life." As she paced around the clearing, something grabbed her ankle. "Eeeauch!" she squealed. The ghosts! They were burrowing out of the ground to get her soul and drag her to the underwo- wait, no, this was somebody's squirrel snare or something. "Oh come on, who leaves a perfectly good snare here?"

Still mulling on his acorns, Deathly Still jumped when his sister was caught in the snare, then had to forcefully sigh and make himself calm down. Being this jumpy was NOT GOOD. This was what dad wanted, them being scared to death half the night. Honestly, he probably had that acha waiting for them back at the bonfire for another round of nearly pissing themselves! Crunching and munching, Deathly Still scowled to himself.

"I mean... she makes him happy, right?"

"I guess- but she encourages him." Look Alive sighed. "He's bad enough on his own, and now he's got someone who's helping him. Plus, she's like. Super pretty. And it's dad. There's some cognitive dissonance there, y'know?"

She was just beginning to calm down when a lynx yowled furiously. Not even looking behind her, she galloped out of the clearing and back towards the fire.

Deathly Still opened his mouth to reply- cause like, maybe it was dad, but didn't he deserve to be happy too? Unfortunately, the sound of a rather loud and angry sounding cat distracted him. Flattening his ears, Deathly Still turned tail and galloped after his sister, crying "wait for me!!!" as he ran.
