The midday sun shone brightly overhead, its light easily filtering through the trees and the new leaves budding from their branches. Winter had abated somewhat - at least for a few days - and the temperature was such that Sync felt comfortable enough wearing his hoodie instead of a warmer jacket. His morning shift had ended early enough in the afternoon that it left him with plenty of time to take advantage of the nice weather outside before sunset, so he opted to do so. After grabbing his jacket and his things, he left his shared room and headed through the base up into the forest.

Once he'd found a suitable spot in the woods - the number of trees were thinner, and he could hear the soothing sound of running water not too far away - he released all four of his pokemon. His first three he instructed to battle each other in turns, while he took Zorua away a bit so she could focus more on studying her surroundings to broaden her illusion repertoire, and to practice some of them. Unfortunately the dark-type's nervous disposition necessitated in a minor alteration to his plans; he pulled Vulpix from battling her teammates to join him and Zorua, in the hopes that a pokemon companion of a similar stature would make her feel safe enough to focus more fully on her surroundings. This left just Cranidos and Pikachu to battle each other, and with crackling electricity and the sharp sounds of Cranidos headbutting nearby rocks of trees when he missed his target, the pair weren't exactly being quiet.

A decent amount of time off, for Clancy, meant he was absolutely going to make a fixed, unchangeable, place in the schedule for some fishing.
He'd had a chat with a fellow fisher grunt not but a couple of days ago and gotten a rough description, and some pretty good directions, to a perfect spot to do some; of course he'd managed to miss it entirely, but this spot wasn't exactly the worst spot ever to fish in.

Why, perhaps he'd found a better spot; that was surely possible. That had to be the case. Who cared if there was no stump to sit on right by the water, and no shady willow casting a perfect block to the sun for his eyes and to hide his shadow from the fish... there were still some branches up there... kind of doing just as good a job. Yes, this place was probably better.
It was nice and qui-

"GAH!" Was Clancy's first response to the loud noises. His second was to nearly drop his rod and fall in the stream. His third, after a quick recovery, was to scowl in irritation and wonder "Wot in the bloody name of Arbleflass was that?!"

His fourth was take a direct approach to try and tackle to disruption to his peace.
He would stop the noise... by shouting at it.
"Hoi! Shuddup! Shut the bloody 'ell up wote'er the bloomin' 'ell y' are or wote'er the flamin' 'eck y'r doin'! You shut it right bloody now! Some of us are tryin' t' flamin' fish in peace and bloody quiet y' inconsid'rate wotsits!"

He gave a firm nod to himself; that'd stop it.

The shouting caused the entire group to pause and glance up, curious; all except for Zorua, of course, who keened and hunkered down close to the grass, her eyes squeezed shut. It took a few moments for Sync to replay the shouting in his head and process it, and once he realized the message - or most of it, anyway - he turned to Pikachu and Cranidos. "Keep battling, and follow me," he instructed them in a normal speaking volume, lest the stranger overhear. To his Vulpix and Zorua he offered a simple gesture to follow him as well, and rather than heed the shouted request for peace and quiet, Sync led his pokemon toward the source of the shouting.

The sounds of rustling leaves joined the sounds of two battling pokemon - Cranidos missed more often while trying to battle and move forward at the same time, and thus crashed into the trees they passed even more than before - and a few minutes later Sync emerged from behind a small copse of trees, Vulpix and Zorua at his heels. A sharp crack caused a tree to shake as Cranidos missed again; he and Pikachu were just out of sight. "Were you the one yelling to be quiet?" Sync asked him, one hand propping itself on his hip as he tilted his head to one side a bit. He only wanted peace and quiet to fish; surely he'd give in to that request and leave him to fish in peace.

Once he sprouted wings and learned to fly, maybe.

Oh, fer..?! Was it getting closer?!

"HOI! STOPPAT! OI AM TRYIN' T' FISH Y' NOISY BUGGARIN' WOTEVERYARS!" Clancy shouted again, getting angrier as the noise of battle kept getting closer and closer and closer.

When it kept coming closer he began to wonder if he should worry... Just what was coming his way? What if whatever it, or they, were happened to be gigantic?

...

WHAT IF IT WAS GROUDON AGAIN?!

Was it too hot? Had the temperature risen? Had the ground shaken?
No... No, it wasn't. It hadn't.

And then... A person!
Who seemed to have brought the news with him.

"What?! Of course I bloody was! D'ya not hear all that racket them bloody criters are makin'?! It's scarin' 'way me bloody fish!" Shouted the shouty fisherman...

Oh, yep, this was the guy, all right. Was he for real? Seriously? A wide, amused smirk slowly spread across Sync's face. "I don't think you need any help scaring away the fish," he pointed out, though didn't bother to elaborate on why. This was a grown man, he'd surely figure it out on his own - and if he didn't, all the funnier.

A loud crack from Cranidos crashing into another tree prefaced the appearance of Pikachu, who dodged easily enough before darting out of the bushes nearby. He paused a few feet away from them and stopped while on all fours, looking over at the unfamiliar man who was no doubt the source of the shouting. Should they continue their battle here? Louder, perhaps? Probably.
