Zen just nodded his head as he followed he other male as they walked towards he said room of Cecil's. He made sure to check his surroundings as he did so, not wanting to take any chances. He looked around the room before settling things on the bed next to Cecil's, taking a seat. He could guess what the other make was thinking about sleep but he said nothing about it. "Are you sure? I could help you if you like." he replied, ignoring his body protesting that it needed a break.
He had been running on instinct for the past few days and it was catching up to him now but he refused to let his guard down even though Cecil was like him. It never hurt to be cautious. It had been his guide since everything went to hell three years ago. Ugh, he was so tired and it showed.

He shuffled through his own backpack, pulling out a couple knives for fighting the infected encase some entered. He looked to the other and nearly laughed, it was obvious the other was tired. "It's fine, you can sleep as long as you need to. It won't do either of us any good if your falling asleep on your feet right?" He slipped the knives into some hand made holsters on his hips. He made his way to the door they had come in and glanced down the hall. "Anyways I'm going to go check the entrances, sleep tight." He gave half a wave and started walking down one of the dimly lit corridors.

Zen watched him go before sighing and then laying down on he bed. He stared at the ceiling for a few seconds, wrapping blanket around himself to keep warm as it was a bit chilly in the room. Now that he thought about it, all hospitals were. His eyes eventually started to close of their own accord as he succumb to sleep. He hoped that Cecil would be okay as he seemed like a good guy desire their situation. He clutched his bat close as he dreamed of the days that he had with his parents before the virus, several tears escaping and running down his face.

Then the night passed with little worry. He walked along the empty corridors and listed to the noises outside, but none came horribly close to their hideout. He ensured that the door were locked, and some he had blocked with what ever he could find in the abandoned hospital. When he finally wandered back to the room it was almost dawn, the noises outside slowly subsiding. When he walked into the room he stole a glance at the other male and noted that he was crying in his sleep. He looked at the other a bit surprised before he looked away and rummaged through his own backpack. He felt like he was snooping, having seen the other sleeping, but then again it wasn't as if that was his intention. He switched out a couple of his knives, opting for smaller blades during the day, before quietly making his way back out of the room and back to the cafeteria where he had his breakfast. Ooc- sry getting ready for out landlord to come tomarrow, been cleaning like crazy ugh

Zen continued to sleep on until Cecil's departure woke him up. She sat up, yawning and rubbing at his eyes, blinking when he felt that they were wet. He wiped the remaining tears away before getting up, stretching out his muscles. He winced at the cracks but united them. He wondered if this hospital had showers. If not he would hero make due with what was on hand. He looked around before going to find the other male, making sure to take his bat with him. (It is okay. I understand.)

He had been munching on some slightly stale cereal, some sugary some thing or other that he had probably liked as a kid. He had still yet to decide on a plan, either he asked to go with the other or he decided to go on his own. In the end those were his only choices. He ate without any real enjoyment, but stopped cold when he heard movement. Reflexively his hand slid under the table to touch a blade he kept at his side while he sat still and listened. It was some many tense moments before he calmed, infected had a strange gait to their walk, and this wasn't the same. He relaxed slightly, guessing the other male had woken up and let out the breath he'd been holding. He was getting a bit tired but didn't want to sleep yet, not until he could feel safe sleeping get with another human nearby. Ooc- working extra shifts, will try to post more often if I can

Zen stared at him for a second before shrugging. He could not blame the other for being on edge. "Morning." he said softly as he made his way farther into the room to get something to eat on his own. He took a bite of the food, wincing slightly at the sugary taste but continued to eat it as he probably would bed the energy for later. "So, what do you plan on going after this?" he asked, trying to fill the silence as he ate his breakfast. When he woke up, he had forgotten to put his hair in its standard ponytail so it fell well past his waste, stopping a few inches above the ground. In truth, it made him look like a girl. (I understand)

He was a bit amused that the other looked very much like he had just awoken. He was also surprised that the male kept his hair so long, he always cut his short-it would be too much trouble to wash it. At the question he paused in thought for some moments. "Not sure, I can't stay here forever, and finding a settlement of survivors is my top priority. I figure I probably have about a year, if I don't find anyone by then-if i survive that long-then it'll probably be time to give up anyways." He rested his elbow on the table and his chin on his palm, munching on a couple pieces of cereal again absently. He was really getting tired of this, not sleeping well or eating well, constantly being on edge. He felt like he was growing years older in just days and had decided that if he lost his sight before finding a safe place it would be easier to end it rather than wait for the infected to get him.

Zen gave him a look before going back to his cereal. "Ah. I understand." he said softly, thinking along the same lines. He was about to ask something else when he heard a beeping noise coming from his pocket. He blinked a few times before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his cellphone. He stared at it for a few seconds, frowning. He had forgotten that he had it. He noticed that the beeping was meant that someone was calling him. Okay, now that was suspicious but he answered anyway. "Hello?" he asked quietly. There was nothing but static for a few seconds and then "...all survivors....ship leaving...harbor... two days...bzZt..." was what it said. Zen's eyes went wide when he processed it. There were more survivors and hey we're headed to the harbor! He looked over at Cecil to see if he had heard.

He blinked when the other pulled out a cell phone, his own had stopped working some time ago though he hadn't known the cause. But as he heard a voice coming through he sat dumbfounded. Other...people. When the other looked to him he sat there stiffly, feeling an intense feeling of shock. Finally he regained some composure. "Really?" Was all he could mutter. He'd given up most of his hope, but now someone was lighting a new one within him. There was a chance!

Zen nodded once he got over his own shock. "Yeah. And it appears we have three days ringer there or we will be stranded here." he replied, placing his phone buck into his coat pocket. He then took a good look at Cecil. "Do you...want to go together?" he asked after a few minutes of silence. He didn't know why he asked but since they were in the same boat, it would make sense for them to head to the harbor together. He stood there patiently as he waited for a answer from the other male.

It's was hard to belive, was this nightmare really coming to an end? Sure they weren't guaranteed safety, but the chances of survival, of a solution, was so much higher if their numbers increased. When the other asked if they would go together he leaned back and thought a moment. Sure he didn't completely trust the other, but if he was soon going to be joining others that he also didn't know then this didn't seem to be a big risk. "Yeah, I don't know this city well, so let's go together."

Zen bit back the sigh of relief as Cecil agreed to go win him. "That's okay. I know this city very well." he replied, finishing off his food. "So, when should we leave?" he asked the other male as he started heading back to the room to get his stuff together. The harbor was at least a day away from here and he did not want to be here when night fell. He knew that they had to leave soon in order to get a head start at least before dusk.
