Amelia Knight

Amelia was more than a little relieved to hear Eli's voice. She turned to face him and the slight smile on her lips quickly faltered into a frown at the sight of his blood. At least he managed to quell most of the arguing, though Margo as always had something to say.

“What the ******** do you mean you don't know who ******** killer is! You fought him!” She shouted, but Eli seemed to ignore her.

Amelia looked at him with concern, clearly not liking the idea. “What about your neck? There should be a first aid kit in the kitchen.” She answered softly. With the information she had, staying where they were seemed like a better plan. However she did trust Eli's judgment and figured he likely learned something important while fighting the killer. If he really pushed for moving on without tending to his wound she would comply. They could likely find a first aid kit somewhere else. Mostly though she just wanted to sit down for a bit. Amelia didn't know if it was because Eli was back that she felt like she could finally relax or if it was just the constant adrenaline for the last few hours, but she suddenly felt really tried and groggy. In fact everyone looked tired. Even Margo, who Amelia finally realized hadn't started cursing out Eli for ignoring her. “Let's go.” She agreed.

Eli cast Margo a cold look and then nodded to Amelia about his neck. He let he patch him up and once it was done he returned his focus to leaving the room. However in each passing moment where Amelia was bandaging him, the smell in the air began to grow more intense yet at the same time still hard to perceive. While this was happening, Lucas had been trying to comfort his wife and Sam had taken to rolling himself a little something special that he had been keeping in his pocket for all the time. Having been bandaged, Eli walked towards the exit to push it open, only to find the doors would not budge. He pushed again, harder, and still they did not move. Clever, but why? Eli thought to himself before turning to face the group. "Barricaded, I am going to need some help opening the door." Eli pointed to Lucas and his wife, then Margo and a few of the chefs with her. It would take all of them. He pointed at Sam too but Sam didn't notice as he was a little busy trying to find his lighter.

Amelia was relieved Eli let her patch up his wound. She was also relieved they knew no one in this room was the killer. Last time....they had all fought among themselves and were picked off one by one until it was just her and Eli. She grimaced slightly when Eli declared the doors barricaded. It seemed Eli's instincts that they needed to keep moving were right. Why would the killer want to lock them in? Several possibilities ran through her mind, none of them good, but she dare not mention it out loud. They had just managed to get everything relatively calm and she didn't want to start a panic again so she just went to help push open the doors without saying a word.

Margo rolled her eyes and sighed, but she got up to help with the rest. “How the ******** could it be ******** barricaded without anyone hearing.” She complained while walking over to the door while Olivia gave her husband's hand a tight squeeze, whispered 'come on' before letting go and heading to the door. Alison was red eyed and puffy face, but no longer crying. She seemed just kinda numb and not exactly totally aware of what was happening. Still she silently got up.

It was Anna who noticed Sam not coming to help with the doors and walked up to him...not that she had really been standing that far from him in the first place. “Sam, you have to come help.” she said quietly.

"I will in a minute. I promise." Sam responded as he kept looking around for his lighter. Eventually he found it in his back pocket and pulled it out. He fumbled with it a little and then finally held it up to the joint in his mouth. By now, Eli had recognized the smell in the air. Sudden panic ripped through him as he saw Sam going to ignite his lighter. Eli darted across the room from the door and smacked it out of Sam's hand. "The vents! He is pumping gas in through the-" Before he could finish his sentence, Lucas, Olivia, Alison, Amelia, and Margo had succeeded in pushing past the blockade which turned out just to be two brooms jammed between the door handles. The brooms broke apart and Eli saw what was waiting just beyond the room as the gas pent up inside rushed out. A flare. Only a few moments after the door opened did the gas reach the flare and ignite. The whole room suddenly combust. The force splinted the door and sent shard of it back at the group who had just pushed it open. They would be hit by the full force of the blast. Eli, Anna and Sam would be hit by what was left after the rest were hit.

All Amelia could hear was the ringing in her ears. She coughed, sputtered and gasped for air, the force of the blast having knocked the wind out of her. There was no time to lay and recover though. The killer could be coming in to finish the rest of them off right now. She forced her eyes open and with a groan and a lot of pain lifted herself off of the ground and onto all fours. No one was coming through the door, but she saw instead....The doors had been blown to pieces. Margo had a large piece lodged in her throat. It seemed almost ironic for the woman who spent so much of her time yelling and swearing would come to such a fate. Olivia was clearly dead, her neck twisted a funny angle and her eyes staring unseeing at the ceiling.

“Oh God.” Amelia looked to the sound of the voice. It was Alison. She was sitting up, and clutching her leg, a piece of door sticking out of her thigh, but alive which was a better state than most everyone else. The rest of the kitchen staff they had run into lay unmoving. Anna seemed relatively fine though as she rushed to Alison's aid.

Lucas lay dead not far from Olivia with a chunk of the door through his eye. Sam had a shard in his chest and would be dead within moments. It had punctured a lung and Sam was suffocating due to the inability to breath. His whole face would turn purple before he finally expired. As for Eli, he was alright. Only thrown a little by the blast. His body had been protected by a table that fell over with him. Still, a large gash had opened on the right side of his forehead, probably from shrapnel that hit him before he fell into his cover. Blood covered an entire half of his face and had dripped onto his shirt. "s**t." He mumbled as he stood up from behind his cover. His vision was a little blurry but he could tell who was dead and who was not. Alison, Anna, and Amelia. Eli, in somewhat of a daze, stood and stumbled towards the exit without saying a word to anyone else.

“Eli wait!” Amelia scrabbled after Eli, who seemed entirely in a dazed. She had no idea where he was going, but she didn't think it was a good idea in his current condition. At the very least he should take a second to collect himself, otherwise he would make an easy target for the killer.“Where are you going?” She asked, grabbing his shoulder to stop him from wondering out into the hall. Behind them Anna was trying to help Alison with her leg.

Eli responded poorly to his shoulder being grabbed. He did not pull out the gun that he had taken from grant but he did pull out the knife. He pulled his shoulder out from Amelia's hand and turned to raise it to her throat only them to realize it was her. He stopped and lowered the knife. He should just kill them. That would make it simple. Three shots for three targets and then he would be unimpeded in killing Grant. But he couldn't, he needed survivors to clear him. "I'm moving, we can't stay in here and I am in the best shape to find another clear room for us." He lied. He had been walking with the intention to go kill Grant, this story would work though.

Amelia flinched back, letting go of Eli's shoulder and staring wide eyed at him as he held the knife to her neck. He lowered it, but there was something else there she didn't quite like. She would have apologized for startling him, but he didn't seem overly upset that he had nearly sliced her neck open. “Be careful.” She answered after a moment. She was just being paranoid. Besides, Sam had seen the real killer, so it wasn't Eli.

When you had killed as many people as Eli, you forgot simple things like apologizing for holding a knife to someone's throat. A mistake he had not realized. "I will be. Give me five minutes and then start moving. I'll find the group or the killer will." Eh, same thing. Eli spared no more words before moving back out into the hall and eventually disappearing into the dark. He didn't expect that he would be followed but he was on edge looking for the killer so he would likely notice if he was. It would be left to Amelia to figure out what was really best to do.

That was hardly a reassuring sentiment, but Amelia merely nodded still a little in shock over the exchange that just happened. With Eli gone, she quickly turned to help Anna with Alison. The girl was in shock so at least she wasn't screaming in pain, but they wouldn't be moving anywhere very quickly. A tourniquet was made using Anna's belt, and they cleaned and dressed the wound as best they could using the supplies from the first aid kit in the kitchen. Still without medical aid....Amelia went first with her gun tightly gripped in both hands. Anna followed closing behind with Alison's arm over her shoulder helping the wounded girl limp along the hall. It was Alison who noticed it.

“Where is Grant's body?”

It was probably best that she find out Grant's body was missing. If she could figure out exactly what was happening she may be able to deal with what was still coming. There was no new news on terms of Eli. No gunshot had gone off and he was still missing. If the three pressed forward they would find more and more darkness and winding hallways. There were not really any safe rooms to go to, some may even have suggested they just leave but all exit doors were locked tight.

The 3 girls paused at Alison's comment.

"Maybe the blast blew it somewhere..." Anna suggested, but it was easy to tell by her tone she didn't really believe that. The only place it would have gone was further down the hall and it was no where in sight. "....or maybe the killer moved it." She added tentatively, because none of them wanted to consider the third option.

“Let's head back to the kitchen.” The statement from Amelia caught both the girls off guard. “I'm tired of running and hiding.” So far she had been letting Eli take the lead, but Eli had run off somewhere. Whoever the killer was, he was just a man like last time. When she said it, she wasn't totally sure what she wanted form the kitchen, just that it was the most likely place they could find things they weaponize, and perhaps set up a trap of their own. Uncertain and afraid, the other two followed. They weren't going to leave the only person with a gun.

For Eli, life was not such a simple trip into and out of the dark. Eli ventured into it. He looked in every corner and crevice but he did not find the answers he was looking for. Instead he found blood and a desire to see it spill. Now he found himself on the way to the lobby where a plethora of dead bodies still sat in their putrid decay. The smell was vomit-inducing and yet Eli walked through the room as if someone had just sprayed it with the smell of peppermint. Not to say it was a pleasant look. He hated the smell of peppermint. For the most part his neck had stopped bleeding now and the wounds he sustained during the fight were easily being walked off by adrenaline.

Elsewhere the plot would thicken. As the ladies returned to the kitchen they would find Grant standing against the door frame looking in at the death in the room. If they examined him before acting they would see that he was holding his stomach where the large gash that Eli had opened remained. He also had the wound on his wrist but that was hardly as noticeable. Eli's knife was on the ground a few feet behind him and as the girls approached he seemed to be walking into the kitchen only for him to then suddenly fall flat onto the ground. He was still conscious but that was part of the act.
