Click to show.Stone Country is a hellishly dangerous place to live, and nowhere is this embodied better than in the hanging temples where monks used to live and gather in the old world. These places were once beautiful places where the peaceful lived in a home carved into the very rocks, large enough to function as it's own small city and entirely self sufficient based on advanced agricultural practices and irrigation from the mountain itself. Now, while water is still no issue, the place is a barren place home only to the scum of the earth. Once upon a time, young and ambitious Katherine and her strong, fierce brother Kuhaku used these temples as a sort of home away from home during their darker days, and since their crew was obliterated and they went straight, the place fell farther from grace into the hands of a powerful drug lord known to the world only as Fu. Recently they have become more ballsy, pushing into the lands surrounding their own recklessly, and so the ire of the Dynasty ruling over Sound has decided to send Ku and Kat to uproot these weeds... by any means necessary.

Katherine stopped just short of the natural rock formations that allowed for shinobi, rogue or otherwise, to land-hop their way into the hanging temples. She looked at the trek they would have to make, utterly undaunted by the danger of falling to their death but held back instead by something akin to a flashback. The days had long since passed since Killer Queen had roamed the hanging temples as one of it's most known faces. No... now she came here only in memories and dreams to time gone by. six years ago Eiji plucked Kuhaku and Katherine in a not so gentle way from their meteoric rise to power, and at such young ages too. Back then even as a child the sight of the pair was enough to drive out hardened gangsters from their favorite bars. It was never Katherine who they were truly afraid of: so few knew what she was capable of because of how good she was at not leaving behind a trace. Kuhaku was a clear and present danger to all. He was protective of Katherine, and very strict about his moral code. You could do a lot, but harming an innocent was never something Kuhaku could forgive. For that reason alone most steered clear of dealing with him, unless through Katherine who was far more forgiving.

A legacy of bloodshed tells us that even in that, many fell before Killer Queen's blade.

As she kneeled at the edge of a very sharp fall, she whistled into the air, then turned her head up to her older brother. Her eyes lingered on his face, his shoulders. He'd become a stalwart idol of what it meant to be a Guardian. He matured, just as she had, but where she couldn't handle or confront her inner demons it seemed, to her, that he had conquered his past. She smiled, wishing somehow that he could impart that strength on her. That she wouldn't need him at her side so desperately in the future. Either way, she spoke to him. "Alright. I'd like to, for the sake of old times and not freezing the whole lot of them or something, try diplomacy. They're only moving drugs into the country. So far as my recon team is concerned the trafficking and murder has been kept to a low degree as far as crime syndicates go. They seem to have a kind of... idea how to stay under the radar." she commented as a hoot sounded and PetShop flew past them overhead, fast as it could, curving into a climb before spiraling into a dive to recon ahead and see what sort of resistance they would meet. "Looks like... they have a pair of men at the bottom of the path. Nothing too much of a challenge for PetShop. Come on, if the layout hasn't changed, which im sure it hasn't, we'll be headed for the central temple. Don't lose your footing, Ku."

A second later, a pair of heavy thuds, and a sound like an owl laughing rang out. Katherine would lead on the way down, bounding down the rocks jutting out the side of the mountain down towards the temples. She would make bounding from space to space seem easy, rolling from spot to spot like a sonic the hedgehog game, or some other 3d platformer. Katherine came to the bottom where some very uneven footing between temples awaited her. She saw the bloody bodies of the men, the ice chunks on the ground, the bird picking at it's wings with a somewhat devilish look only Kat would pick up on. "They're alive. Good boy!" she said kissing the bird of pray on it's forehead and then moving on. Pretty soon the pair would be amidst the city dwellers, her shinobi uniform protecting her identity for the most part and no Otogakure symbols present. Her face mask covered her lower face well enough, and her all black garb meant she could be anyone. She had only recommended Ku not wear any village symbols, that way when the roguish types caught sight of them there wouldn't be any suspicion raised by them. Katherine recognized a few, but didn't let her eyes linger. Her hair was different than it used to be and she was six years older than she was the last time they were here. With any luck, no one would recognize the two.

Luck was not always on Katherine's side however... and she couldn't shake the feeling that their were eyes on her somewhere she couldn't see.

Approaching the area that he was supposed to meet up with Katherine at, Kuhaku allowed his pure-white gaze to dance across the area before focusing in on the person whom he'd been thinking of, his dear sister. She was kneeling right at the edge of the rock formation that looked down upon their target destination; the hanging temples, their old place of origin, the place they spent most of their childhood in. It wasn't until Eiji had pulled them from the place after they began to ascend to power within the gardens that Kuhaku had truly changed for the better; at least in his own mind. He at one point cared little for human life, despite the strong front he put up back then about never harming innocent people, he himself had been one of the main perpetrators of those acts. He didn't care if his actions affected those around him at that point in his life, all he wanted to do was protect his sister Katherine no matter what it cost. Before he'd even hit puberty he'd killed dozens of people in the name of protecting his sister from harm, by sixteen that number grew into the hundreds, all until Eiji stepped in to take them under his wing, to train and mold them how he wished.

Shifting his gaze down upon the hanging temples, Kuhaku pulled himself from the thoughts about his past; it had been many years since he'd come to an understanding about his actions, since he'd accepted the way he was and moved past it, and he sure as hell wasn't about to go back and spark up his past sins. When Katherine mentioned wanting to try diplomacy instead of physical action against them, Kuhaku's eyes narrowed dangerously upon her for a brief moment, disappointed that she would allow people that could be eventual do harm to the innocent people around them, however after a second of thought he looked away; feeling it wasn't worth arguing with her about it, and instead he would just see how the negotiations went before doing anything drastic. It didn't matter if they tried to stop them anyways, Kuhaku would tear their hearts from their chest before they could even think to make a move towards harming his sister. After a second of waiting behind the male looked down the mountain face, assessing his path to reach the bottom quietly before he merely stepped off the edge. He plummeted downwards for a briefly moment before casually placing his hand against the wall near him, channeling chakra lightly into it before it would begin to slow his descent downwards. He wasn't really one for trying to go the slow way like Kat had, he preferred to just take a leap of faith so to say.

                      Stats || Passives || Tech's Used || Quotes
A-rank ll Taijutsu ll Midnight Affair/Hyugall Nen: 200/200

                      Techniques Used:

                      Stats]

                      • Speed: 8
                      • Strength: 9

                      Passives
                      • [BLOODLINE] ENHANCED REACTIONS Having spent most of their time in close quarters combat, the Midnight Affair are able to react slightly more quickly to attacks than their opposition, making them just slightly harder to deal with in battle. Sometimes, this edge can make all the difference.
                      Medical:
                      • [BLOODLINE] Caltrops Passive, but Activated
Caltropsobjects that can be created by a Midnight Brawler at will. This is one aspect that makes it clear that these techniques come from a hereditary line, or a bloodline. Caltrops can be weaved in the palms of the Midnight Brawler. These objects are generally left all around the field throughout the battle, and do not hurt or impair the Midnight Brawler, but can easily hurt and impair enemies. The caltrops are always poisoned and can easily penetrate even thick boots to stab into someone's feet. The poison can weaken the legs of the target, slowing them by 2 speed and also inflicting pain and infection; these issues will not kill you in battle, but will render you weaker and nauseous. Throughout the battle, more and more will cover the field, thus walking becomes nearly impossible without being constantly wounded. The strings are also laid around the field, connecting from tree to tree; etc. These strings can cut or bind people. Dashing quickly between trees or walls, these strings could easily rip your throat open.
                      • [BLOODLINE] While battling your Sworn Foe (attacking, defending, dodging, etc) you have a +1/+1 base to both stats. You may declare anyone a sworn foe, though there are limits on changing your sworn foe. You can change you sworn foe twice, however upon reaching S-rank you can change three times.
                      • [BLOODLINE] +1 rank to damage reduction (improving on their Taijutsu Class passive) up to Kage rank, upon which they do not improve this bonus. (This means that at Sannin rank you'd be immune to Jounin techniques, but at Kage you don't increase the +1's rank so you're still only immune to Jounin.)
                      • [BLOODLINE] May use one Taijutsu style for free and gain stats, may learn one additional taijutsu style.
                      • [BLOODLINE] Direct hits on the opponent take away [10] chakra points. When hitting an opponent with Hyuuga techniques, 10% of the usual chakra drain is applied. For example, using the complete 8 Trigrams 64 Palms on an opponent will take 64 points as opposed to 640.
