The young buck sighed, his steps light and airy, like the colour of his coat. He was, he knew, looking up to the night sky to catch a glimpse of the growing white crescent...

"Over the moon."

She was radiant. She was dark and beautiful like the night. She was everything he could ask for. She was perfect.

She was...

...she was..!

He hopped a little cow-hop and bent his head to inhale the scent of moss growing along the roots of a tree.

Pregnant.

Pregnant!

He stopped and gave himself a great shake. Mostly to clear his head and dispel the riot of high energy that was bubbling and churning within him, and then a great whoosh of air escaped his nostrils. Momentarily more grounded, he tilted his head. He wanted to do something. Something...to ensure their health and happiness. Something his mother never wanted to do. She wanted all of the fun and none of the responsibility, but that didn't mean her offspring weren't treasures to her all the same.

It was called a Blessing. And word had it that one that could perform such a thing was somewhere in the area. But for one thing he would have to find them...and for the other...

He needed an offering.

'What do you offer for this type of thing..?' Bloom pondered to himself as he set off, his strides strong and his eyes fervently searching. He was committed!

Some time later found him toting about a small collection of what he thought would be suitable offerings. Honestly it was probably overkill. Several combs of honey - and a multitude of stings as his reward for his foolish[/stribe] brave, daring foray for honey! - several polished stones worn smooth and with an iridescent gleam, and then sprigs of lavender. Bloom carefully toted them about as he looked for the one he sought...

...without knowing who, exactly, he was seeking.

Burning Bush traveled through the swamp easily, but never exactly unknown anymore. She tried to avoid kin now. Their responses were mostly gaping mouths and stupid questions. On this trip she'd managed so far to avoid people. But she heard the crash of something heavy in the underbush and sighed. There was the slightest chance that it was not someone seeking out a mare, but Burning Bush was relatively sure that was not the case. She raised her head can called out:

"Show yourself!"

There was an abrupt hush after the doe called out, and then the sounds resumed, growing closer. Bloom could see the glow of...well, the buck wasn't sure what, exactly, until his head poked out from the side of a particularly plush bramble.

Taken aback, the buck stared for a few long moments...and despite his surprise and the urge to ask questions - to his credit, the lavender blooms and iridescent stones he gently grasped in his mouth prevented such questions from emerging - he came to the conclusion that the flaming doe was very likely one of the ones he was seeking.

After all, what other Kin would be on fire, if not for one that was the sort with power. He pushed free and moved towards her, keeping what would be a respectful distance. The buck that was the first green of spring...was pretty sure he wouldn't do as well covered in flame. But, the honeycombs he'd carefully placed upon his back had fallen by way of the branches, so he turned back to collect them as well, working his jaw after having kept it still around the more delicate offerings. He was quick to trot back and leave the honeycombs with the other two bits before he would finally speak.

"Is this a suitable offering for a blessing..?"

His heart was rapidly-thump-thumping away in excitement and adoration. Never after this moment would any other that could - if she was indeed whom he was searching for - compare to this doe, who seemed to burn with the same flames of passion that were lit within his heart.

Gifts of all sorts seemed to tumble off the buck. It was all a bit comical, but it put Burning Bush in a good mood. Finally, someone who knew how to ask for a favor. The buck was green in all senses of the word - green in coat, but also in experience. The mare could all but hear the thud of the buck's heartbeat. Nervous, she thought. Burning Bush made a show of looking over the offerings though truthfully there was no way she could carry them all.

"It depends on what sort of blessing you are seeking. A sharper wit? A faster gait? Perhaps luck in a hunt?"

She was teasing, tail swaying languidly through the air.

Ahhhh, apologies! I've been busy. ;w;

Her questions caused the buck to falter and blink quizzically, but that didn't stop the thumpity-thump-thud of his heart. He gave a small huff of amusement as he caught on and flicked his ears forward, then perked them.

"A blessing for my children, actually." He glanced down, staring at the gifts again. "Is it? Enough, I mean."

Technically it was for his children, meaning more than one blessing, in his eyes. So now he really wasn't sure, but, he looked up. If he had to find some more things...he would.

"I don't know how this works, honestly."
