The sun kissed her pelt softly
As she wandered over the grassy plane
The fragrance of the flowers was intoxicating
Though too strong, so strong it made her dizzy
These flowers that worshipped the sun
Whose petals reached for its warmth
Crowns of dew upon their brows
And petals so vibrant in hue
Yet these charmed her not
And she felt herself pulled to the shade
The tree's above dappled her body
And she sighed as the coolness washed over
Her soul felt relieved
So deeper she went
To a place where the light could not reach
And there in the distance she saw
A lone flower vibrant and strong
Growing deep in the heart of the swamp
No sun to tell it to wake
No warmth to kiss its face
Here it did thrive where others would wilt
And yet here it was so alive in the darkness
Beyond compare in the shadows
This flower which Blooms at Night
