Nice run down of the series. Scooby-Doo has been my favorite cartoon since I was little. I genuinely enjoy the premise, and fun fact, it's said that "Where Are You?" had some layered commentary about the American economy of the late 60's and early 70's (hence the frequently rundown locations, and some of the criminals having high end jobs and master's level degrees, yet they steal). It's also said that Scooby and the gang were stand ins for the upcoming generation, and that on some level, the show was a sort of call to action to use resourcefulness and common sense to stand against outdated structures/norms, and to allow new ideas to facilitate change and progress.
That said, these are just theories and reading between the lines, but more than a few essayists, fans, and even a few animation buffs have all toyed with this notion.
Personally, I enjoy Scooby both as a commentary, and as a fun cartoon.
