When her beloved had appeared in the shape of a swan, Half Truth was certainly thrown- but she quickly adjusted. She relished in Rose's happiness, and her gifts from the Swamp- they made her happy, and Half Truth would fight the moon if it meant that Rose would be happy. But when Rose felt the pull to go somewhere- somewhere she could not follow- well, that made her nervous. It wasn't jealousy or anything; no, it was simply... fear.
Half Truth didn't fear much. She was friends with predators- her much-adored caiman, her odd (but sweet) cheetah- even her son's worm, while gross, wasn't frightening. There were no kin she felt need to fear, and she knew she'd never starve, nor would her family. Certainly there were supernatural things, things beyond her ken that she was more than startled by- but usually, she felt secure in her place in the swamp.
But her light-winged delight, her laughing blossom, had just banked away in the direction of a massive, massive storm, and she couldn't help but worry. She hated this- there was nothing she could do. She'd put on a brave face as she'd kissed her goodbye- and now she waited, watching a storm that had yet to break, and worrying.
Someone was approaching. One of Rose's children, perhaps? She turned to look- company would be much appreciated.
