THE YEAR IS: 1497 GG (Genetic Genesis)
Earth, The human race, the last sentient race of Earth, is going extinct. After the population booms for the 30th century AD, and subsequent wars throughout decades over resources that led up to the Genetic Genesis, much of the genetic pool has been wiped out, the DNA in the new generations is unraveling.
Thanks to the ever-improving technology, the planet it's self is recovering from the mass pollutants that resulted from the extinguishing of fossil fuels. Cloning has become a viable option towards extending life and the species, but it is clear it is a temporary solution only. The newest Military addition of Time travel, seems to be the only way to truly ammend the DNA crisis.

DNA CRISIS: Due to the mutations and natural shortening of DNA over generations, new babies born are short-lived and often unstable. Genetic disorders are the leading cause of death, and the average human lifespan has been reduced to a mere 30 years of age. Cloning helps, but the process is costly, time consuming, and while successful initially, effectiveness is degrading over subsequent copies.

GENQUE MISSION: To reclaim lost genetic material throughout the Timestream, return with subjects and samples in order to treat and hopefully cure the DNA crisis.
Unavailable to the Public, The World Military has mobilized several specialized Teams to search throughout the genetic history profiles for individuals lost to wars, famine, and other senseless deaths in order to recover as many as possible from the time of death.

GENQUE: The discovery of Time travel was in itself a historic occasion, but bitter as the immediate horrors that are said to have resulted from the very first voyage. What seems to have been a crew of over a hundred souls is said to have been lost, though none can be proven, as all evidence of it was the tale of but a single so-called "survivor" suffice to say, the whole of time travel has been suspended up until now while extensive training and precautions have been taken to preserve the Earth's existing History.
