Name: Oreune
Age: 18
Nameday: 3556.13.23
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: ???

Craft: Weavercraft / Specialty in Weaving
Rank: Sr. Apprentice
Location: Weavercraft Hall

Physical Description: Kissed with rich ebony skin and hair that rivals the sky at night, Oreune considers herself a sight for sore eyes on the best of days, and a walking herdbeast on the worst. Full lips rest on a shapely face, and her dark black eyes are neither too large nor too small. She smiles brightly and wildly, though it's hard to tell if she's smirking or being sincere.

Her hair is long, practically to her hips, but worn neatly as to benefit her Turns at craft. She knows better than to allow her appearance to ever look ruffled, though it's not vanity that drives her to look neat; sometimes it's just easier to be taken seriously when you don't look disheveled. Oreune is large in the bust but small in the hips.

Personality: First and foremost, Oreune is willing to try everything at least once regardless of what it is and what the outcome may be. Her fearless nature extends to trying situations that it would be considered okay to balk at, or taking risks where the outcome isn't fully known. She's also unafraid to ask people for favors, or for things in general; it's almost as if "nothing ventured, nothing gained" is her personal mantra and it might as well be. The reason behind it though isn't anything strong or amazing, but rather the fact that Oreune is a massive pessimist. Going into everything believing that it is going to fail, she has zero expectations for situations she finds herself in. Her reasons, she explains, is that she'll either "be proven right or be pleasantly surprised" whenever things happen; such a negative outlook acts as both a blessing and a curse at almost all moments.

Her fearlessness, couple with her base pessimism, allows her to be pretty forthright with everyone over just about everything. Oreune doesn't really believe in lying since it doesn't get her what she needs, though occasionally she'll stretch the truth. (The two things are different, since one is technically the truth that just happens to be vague). Asking Oreune for her opinion will get exactly that - her opinion - and very rarely will punches be pulled when she explains things; she doesn't see much wrong with this since honesty is always the best policy. However, she knows that just saying things isn't always good and her pessimistic point of view also leads her to believe all sorts of fantastic situations. It's not that hard to think it's just her being paranoid.

And really, it's not that Oreune thinks everyone is out to get her, or that they hate her, but she totally thinks that everyone dislikes her. It doesn't matter how much she's reassured that everything is just of her own making, she's paranoid enough to believe it. A lot of this stems from her childhood of being elevated on a pedestal by her parents, only to have been knocked down due to the birth of her brother. She's capable of believing in what people say for short periods of time, but coupled with her general pessimistic point of view that length gets shorter and shorter; as a result her fear and distrust that people are being honest sometimes leads to her doubting much of what she's told. That's not to say she doubts everything, as she believes stories about outside events; she just doesn't trust information in regards to herself. It's a work in progress.

And by work, uh, it'll be a bit. Oreune isn't lazy but she certainly likes to take her time doing things. She takes so much time, in fact, that she's usually scrambling right before the deadline to complete a task. Why do something today that could be done tomorrow or, even better, next week? It's a ridiculously bad habit that she's all too aware of yet doesn't any take pains to fix; it's something that's "always been" and therefore there's no point in correcting what Oreune views as a "non-problem". Sadly, with the passage of turns, it is becoming a larger problem as she increases her work load, or promises, and keeps pressing them off with the thoughts of things going fine in the past. If she's not careful it will all come crashing down, burning around her.

Thankfully she's a midge too fastidious for that to be allowed. Dedicated to her craft (or any interest she holds) with a strong fervor, accuracy and attention to details lend her the skill she needs in order to accomplish tasks set her way. The more complex something is the more she delights in doing it and the more likely she is in actually putting in the time and effort to get it done early. Oreune is also heavily concerned about the proper way to do things and so if there is a correct way to get things done, she's following the steps one by one. Shortcuts might help in the long run if she's behind but such things don't sit well with Oreune despite how much easier it would be on her slacker nature.

Positive Trait List Fearless, forthright, fastidious
Negative Trait List Pessimistic, procrastinative, paranoid

History: Oreune started her life off as the the youngest of two daughters born to bakercraft parents out of Cauldron Cothold. Spoiled rotten to the point of arrogance, there was hardly anything that Oreune wanted that she wasn't able to obtain one way or another. When asking didn't work, she often tried tears; when tears failed, it was simple enough to take what she wanted. Her parents, either out of will ignorance or forced obliviousness, didn't see any harm in her antics and might have low-key encouraged it. It was during those four turns that she terrorized her peers and absolutely obliterated any relationship she may have had with her sister, prompting the older girl to leave as soon as she was able. Oreune wouldn't cross paths again with Olamide for nearly fifteen turns.

The birth of her younger brother, who was to be her parent's last child together, changed life for Oreune. No longer the baby and therefore no longer given her spoils, whatever once had been freely handed to the child was given instead to her brother. No amount of begging and crying, taking and violence, could actually bring back the amount of attention she'd been given before and, quite frankly, it was a shock. Now understanding entirely how Olamide felt before her sudden departure, the five turn old Oreune was in for completely new life and it sucked beyond anything she ever dreamed. Her parents, once doting individuals who seemingly wated on her hand and foot, in her opinion could have cared less about her existence. It was probably though this sudden change that much of Oreune's later views in life came into being, and it would be a lie to say that there is a bitterness that remains.

Living in a dour and sullen mood seemed to be what Oreune's life would be for many turns, though a change came at the age of eleven. A group of traders had come to visit the hold and with them brought amazing tapestries straight from the Weavercraft Hall. Completely enraptured by the goods on display and wanting to know more, the traders were harassed for nearly a sevenday by a young girl in need. Told everything they could tell her, or wanted to tell her, Oreune decided she'd found her calling in life: She was going to be a Weaver.

Her parents said no.

Oreune whined and cried and begged for almost two months.

Her parents said yes.

Taken to the Weavercrafthall as soon as she was able to go, Oreune both flourished and completely floundered at the same time. Given goals she had to reach within a set amount of time became the ultimate downfall for someone who enjoyed moving at her own pace, yet deadlines seemed to motivate her to work harder and complete her work to a higher degree of success. Days passed, sevendays turned into Turns, and Olamide made friends (or at least people she could maybe consider friends). On track to walk the tables via the skill and progress she had been showing, life was good.

When a hatching was slated to happen on the Sands at Western, Oreune was searched alongside her friend. Although she didn't Impress, the offer to remain a candidate at Western remained even though it meant she'd delay her chance for walking to Journeyman just that much longer.

Other: younger sister to Olamide, older sister to an unnamed (free to good home) younger brother; has a green flitter named Loom
