Physical Description: Still young and vain Jaiyce spends a good amount of time on appearances. He has long dark hair that he keeps tied back. His eyes are silver, that seem to shift darker or lighter with his moods, though its got to be only a trick of the light. High cheekbones and a button nose can make him look a bit feminine at first, but the strong jaw balances out his facial features. Tall and athletic in recent years he’s put on a bit more weight- partially because no one trusts a cook that is too skinny. While never in the “best” of finery he always manages to look adequate put together- unless one sees him in the kitchen in which case he’s covered in whatever it is he’s making.
Personality: Jaiyce is the type who is great to have around for a party. He loves to cook, and have fun in the kitchen, often winding up with some shall we say interesting dishes. He has a fun loving sense of humor that allows him to often put others at ease with a joke or two. And once he has claimed you as a friend Jaiyce will stand by you for as long as you’ll have him and perhaps longer. Though given the unfortunate fact that he is quite shallow it may take awhile for him to get to that point because he does not want to let anyone get deeper having been hurt before. So on the surface he will interact well with others, hence his skill with a party situation.
Now living in a hold where people get to know one another it can be difficult for Jaiyce because he is known to be somewhat ineffectual. He tries hard and will be almost violently competitive but at the end somehow manages to trip over his own two feet. And once he gets involved it becomes a point of pride and the man is worse than a donkey when it comes to sticking with whatever fool hardy idea he has in his brain.

History: Growing up in Rivercrest was an adventure, parties all the time, dark seedy underworlds and bright glittering throngs of people, and so long as you’ve marks to spare you can get whatever you desire. Or so one might think.
Jaiyce grew up the second son of a family who helped run a small hostel that did well for itself. His mother cleaned rooms and his father did maintenance on the property. It was not an excessive life especially for all the extravagences in Rivercrest but it was an honest living.
In his youth Jaiyce fell deeply in love with a young lady named Lyiara. They’d known one another for years, Lyiara was one of the few people he’d let close to him, they’d grown up together. Jaiyce thought that she’d always be there for him, but as often happens the world had different ideas. Lyiara was young, sweet, beautiful and light embodied.He would have done ANYTHING she asked of him. Or so he thought. She was given the opportunity to leave, when a courtesan recruiter found her at turn 17. Lyiara told Jaiyce she was taking the offer to go to Western Hold and train. He begged, pleaded and fought with her to not leave, promising he could take care of her. But for Lyiara it was different she looked to Jaiyce as an older brother who would always protect, cherish and love her as a sister. In Jaiyce’s head it was different. She was so insistent on going he gathered up all the marks he had, a non-trivial sum for a teen of 20 turns given his cooking skill- and showed her his savings. Telling her how hard he’d been working to save up for their life together. He laid his heart bare before her. And she walked out on him, because she did not have those feelings for him.
And so it has been three turns since then and Jaiyce has comforted himself with as much liquor and good food as Rivercrest could provide. When he’s not deep in his cups he’s cooking up a storm, or on the rare occasion sleeping. It's not a sad life he leads for he’s many other friends and plenty of company- but none hes let so close as Lyiara. So he lives but a surface life. Appearing put together, moving on, but in his heart he yearns for one he cannot have, and that has left a hole that none he knows can fill, the closest he gets is in preparing food for those who appreciate his cooking, and as he’s handy with that- even if it doesn’t always turn out to be what he thought he was making. He by rights should have walked the tables already but between her leaving and his own ineffectiveness he's been held back.
Other: Though he cares about his family- he is neither particularly close nor distant from them, the simply don’t hold as much meaning for him as he is the second son he’s been allowed more leeway than his older brother, and his parents put much of their time and efforts into him.
